StampInsanity #79: Chill Out!

Hello everybody! It's time for a new StampInsanity Challenge! This one is called "Chill Out." You need to use some pretty, icy blues on your project. I was telling Phoenix about all the stuff I need to make, and he told me that he wanted to help. I new that the StampInsanity project was perfect for him, because he has told me several times that he wanted to color in Nicholette and Pierette. He chose to work with Pierette this time around. He made a bookmark! Well... we made a bookmark. He did all the coloring though! Isn't he handsome? He started to make her look a little like a zombie (note the green)...guess he still has Halloween on the brain! But he decided to go with it being a green mask. More Halloween thoughts I guess! We mounted her on to a paint chip and added some fibers to the top. He is really happy with how it turned out! I'm sure I'll find it poking out of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie or Frog and Toad real soon! I hope you will play a...

SISC #24 Lacing it with Stitches

Yay! It’s time for another StampInsanity Challenge!!! This time around Beth says, “We need to see some real or faux stitching and add some lace! We want to that girly girl side to shine!” Hmmm…girly girl? I guess I could give it a try! So admittedly, I am not a lace person…I’ll wear it when the time is right, but I don’t have bits of lace like I do with ribbon. However, since I came across the awesome packs of lace doilies at my Mom’s I have been using them a lot. They’re fab. I spritzed mine with Cherub Pink Glimmer Mist. Here’s Pierette…my fave StampInsanity image. I just love her, as I’m sure you know since I use her all the time! I colored her in with my colored pencils, relying quite a bit on that Crayola Multicultural set I mentioned yesterday. I also used my Design Spectracolors. For my stitching, I grabbed some rub-ons from American Crafts and added it to my sentiment which is from K & Co. (so is my paper). But take another look at the top photos again (you can click on a...

Meet Pierette!

I think I have a touch of the flu. And considering I had both flu shots, that kinda stinks! Luckily, I had a project I was saving for an occasion when I didn’t have time to create something. Meet Pierette! How cool is she?!?! She is part of the newest release from StampInsanity , Les Coquettes collection. I loved her the moment I saw her. Her hair is sick, and her name and style made me instantly think of Pauly Perette from NICS (LOVE her!!!). So here is a little ode to Abby! I colored her in with watercolor markers from EK Success and my Spectracolor colored pencils. And I added a touch of glitter with my Sakura Stardust pen on her eyes and heart, plus American Crafts Glitter Pen on her fab dress. The color is s abit off on this pic… there ws a bit of a glare. But I wanted to use this photo so that you can see that I used that amazing mirror finish paper that I had used on a Greeting Farm card once before. See my reflection??? The sentiment is also from the Les Coquettes collection....
