21st Century Pillow Book

Greetings! It's not only the 29th day of the 31 Days of Halloween, but it's also my 12th Anniversary with my wonderful husband. Huzzah! Today, I have a new Left of Center challenge to share. The theme is Halloween, and our sponsor is Bloobel Stamps. I made an ATC. She looks pretty content now, doesn't she? Once again, I used my Zig Clean Color Markers to color the image in. Thank goodness for those teeny bristles on the brush....I printed this witch out super tiny so that she'd fit on my 2.5" x 3.5" ATC. My sentiment is part of a bigger Inkadinkado sentiment, and i embossed it with Rose Gold embossing powder from Stampendous. I wish you could see how gorgeous this color is in real life. Hello! It's been a while since I played along with Left of Center , but it was time for me to jump back in with the team. The latest challenge is 4 Legged Creatures, and we are sponsored by Nikki Burnette , who I love. I chose to work with Riley and her adorable cat, and I used the image on an ATC, so the finished piece is only 2 1/2" x 3 1/2." I colored it with my Zig Clean Color Markers, and i chalked the background. Around the edge of the ATC, I inked Brown Shimmer Delicata ink which is just perfect for all things steampunk. Greetings! Today is another day that I will have 2 projects to share with you. But this time, they are both Halloween. It is the 23rd of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. I have a project for A Day for Daises and one for Left of Center . This week for A Day for Daises, we are challenging you to "Make a Treat Item." I decorated a simple brown paper bag for my project. I colored the Pumpkin Head Friends  using my Tombow watercolor markers, and the Indirect Coloring technique. Then I used a couple of fun embossing folders for my background paper, and I inked them up. The candy corn has a chalk ink from Color Box, and the argyle has Gold Delicata ink from Imagine Crafts. Hello! So, I have a new card today for Left of Center . I know, I know.....I should have had this up yesterday. But, time got away and I have been working horribly out of order for the month (sometimes inspiration hits and ya just gotta go with it, right?) so I finished this baby up yesterday. I'm sorry to my fellow LOC teamies. So, for Day 10 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween, I bring you this card that features DIY Punk from The East Wind . Our challenge is a sketch created by my bestie Kelli Green. She was super fun to color, and I'd really like to do her in several versions with different color schemes. I colored her direct to paper with my Tombow markers. I used some fun Halloween papers, and sprayed my green cardstock with a purple from Memories Mist. Short post today! Hello again! I have 2 projects to share with you today. The first is for A Day for Daisies and the second is for Left of Center. We have an inspiration board for ADfD, and the team is featuring the Mucha Flowers again. These flowers are so pretty! What a great inspiration board! I love the colors, the art nouveau flair, all of it. Here's the card that I made featuring Mucha Style Poppy . I colored my poppy using my Tombow watercolor markers. Then I inked the edges and background of the image. For the layer under the poppy, I used the fantastic Art Nouveau Background from Dreamweaver. I used Gold embossing paste , so it has a beautiful shine. After the paste dried, I inked the edges. Then, I watercolored my card base, keeping it simple. I glued it all together and voila! Hello! I have 2 projects to share with you today. The first is for the latest A Day for Daises and the second is for Left of Center . The ADfD team is busy featuring the September Club Kit, and our new challenge is "Frame It!" I used Fairy Lily Portrait for my card. I colored her with my Tombow watercolor markers, and I added a wee bit of glitter to her wings. Here's a closer look. I love the new gray hair trend that women are going lately, so I went with that for this lovely fairy. For my frame, I simply made 2 borders with an EK Success punch, and then a piece of coordinating green cardstock. It took a little engineering to make sure the green didn't show behind the punched areas, but still was big enough to frame the image...but I love how it turned out. Hello out there! I have a new Left of Center project for you today. I chose to work with Garden Fairy Flower Fairy . I think she's so pretty. I colored her with my Tombow watercolor markers, and used some chalks for my background. Here's a closeup. For my card base, I used a purple Dylusions spray on the super cool Mosaic Swirls Dreamweaver stencil. I spritzed the stencil directly, and then placed the wet stencil on to my green card. This gave me the negative image of the stencil. Of course, I sprayed the stencil on to white cardstock, so I have the positive image to use at a later date. Today is one of those days where my projects are on opposite sides of the spectrum. My first project is for A Day for Daisies , and the second is for Left of Center . ***If you are looking for my latest Stampendous post, please click HERE . Isn't this the sweetest image? It's called Bird in Flight . The joy on this boy's face makes me smile. Our theme this week is "Add a Feather." I colored the image with my Tombow markers, and I added the polka dots with my white Sakura pen. My feather was created with my Feather stencil from Dreamweaver. I outlined it with a black PITT pen, and then I used some watercolors to color it in. I fussy cut the Bird in Flight image out and added it on top of my feather. I also added a sweet sentiment from Stampendous! and some drops of Platinum Liquid Pearls. Ink, more paper...layer, layer, voila! Now....opposite end of the spectrum. Hello! It's time for a new Left of Center challenge. This week, we are sponsored by Ike's Art and the theme is Splash of Paint . I used Raven Poe for my card. I decided to not do anything to alter that image, but rather to play with my background. My card base is a single layer Monoprint, done with the Rectangles Creative Palette from Stampendous. I used acrylic paint in 3 colors on the palette. Them I embossed my Crows stencil with Black Embossing Paste . After the crows dried, I splattered some Stormy Weather Memory Mists  on to the card. Greetings! I have a two-fer for you today. 2 projects from very different groups. The first is for a Blog Hop I am participating in, and the second is for the latest Left of Center  challenge. Let's start with the hop, shall we? Pretty Pink Posh is hosting a fantastical hop today featuring brilliant projects that use watercolors. I LOVE watercolors. Always have. Typically, I use them from a palette, but today is different! I broke out my new sets of Faber-Castell Aquarelle pencils, and they are just fantastic! And shhhhh!!!!!! Here's a BIG secret! The Stampendous team is doing a major collaboration with Faber-Castell all next week! So this project, you could say, is my little preview. I started off by stamping the whimsical Ranunculus Field cling stamp with black Memento Ink. Then I broke out my Aquarelle pencils (I love the little grippy dots they have!) and started to color. Hello! I have a new Left of Center challenge to share with you today. We are sponsored by A Day for Daisies , which is one of my absolute favorite digi stamp companies. The theme this week is "Fun Frights." Here's my creation. I worked with the Owl of Mine image, which I totally love. I colored her with my Tombow watercolor markers. I can see using all sorts of fun color combinations with this image. I used my Scales stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils . I inked it with gold ink, then embossed it with clear embossing powder on top. I love the subtle look it has, due to using Kraft colored cardstock as my base. See the shimmer? I added a few silver sequins and a bit of ribbon, plus some deep purple cardstock that had some gold overspray from a previous project.
