Day 4 of Kickstart Your Art

Hello! This is going to be one of my shortest posts ever...sorry about that! But I have run out of time today! I'm lucky I even got my Day 4 page finished for Smeared & Smudged's Kickstart Your Art. The prompt today was "Growth." I watercolored the page, and added a couple of crows from Smeared Ink's Holy City, and a sentiment from Bombshell's Growing Hearts set. "Even in death, you can grow a garden." I don't know where that came from....but I just thought of it as I was painting. I hope you like my offering. I promise I will start hopping to you other art journalists!!! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

August Bombshell Muse Monday: Growing Hearts

Hello friends! It's the first Monday of the month, so it's time to share this month's Bombshell Stamps Muse Monday. I chose to feature Growing Hearts this month. I think this is an really unique set, and since I have gotten it, I have really fallen in love with it! I decided to make a pendant with some of the smaller images. I first painted the wooden tag with acrylic paint, and then I stamped the images with Memento ink. I colored them with Spectrum Noir markers. Then, I sealed the tag with a clear acrylic sealer. Super simple! This image of the anatomical heart is what really drew me to this set. I think it is so pretty. Would you like to see more with this set? Then be sure to visit the Bombshell Blog each Monday for the entire month. Plus! The Growing Hearts set is on sale for the entire month, so this is the perfect time for you to get it for yourself. Thanks for stopping by. Have an   inspiring day!

June Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop: "Textures and Layers"

Hello bloggy friends! It's the last Wednesday of the month so that means it's time for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month, I challenged the participants to make a project with "Textures and Layers." I made a mini page (6x6) featuring the focal image from the Growing Hearts set. As you can see, I used lots of layers, and a few textures as well. Here's a closeup of my coloring of the image. I colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers. I looooove the Turquoise set. You can see some of the layers I made with some Spellbinders dies....I embossed them for some added texture. My second layer of paper (with all the swirly rainbow colors) was a lot of fun to make. My daughter was finger painting last week and I decided to join her. So I painted a big sheet of paper, so that I could cut them up for some projects. It has some lovely texture in it. Plus, I embossed on top of it with my Damask stencil from Dreamweaver , and their White Embossing Past...

Bombshell's May Sketch and Muse Monday

Greetings! I have 2 Bombshell projects to share with you today. The first is the Sketch Challenge for May. I used one of the newest (for me) sets, Growing Hearts. I had a good time coloring this image. Isn't it fun to get new stamp sets? I colored the woman and my banner with my watercolor markers. She looks so serene. I also used one of the banners from Banner Sayings and the sentiment if from Rose's Portrait.   Did you know that Banner Sayings is on sale right now? It is a wonderful set...for more than just Bombshells! On to Muse Monday. This month, I chose to have the Design Team work with Ahoy Sailor . Another new to me set. I decided to make a tag. My mom loves this set, so I think I will give her this tag, and make her a few more things for her. She is colored with watercolor and alcohol markers, and I inked a bit of blue and Pumice Stone (Distress Ink) on top of the image. For the tag itself, I stamped the small icons from the Ahoy Sailor set with em...
