Catnap Christmas Q-Set

Hello! Have you heard about the new Qsets from Stampendous? I'm going to share some information about them with you today. Qsets are a new kind of cling rubber stamp. They don't have the picture printed on them. Rather, the picture of the image is printed on the acetate sheet the stamps are attached to for storing. There are coordinating dies, but they are a limited quantity. The stamps are all made in the USA, and you'll find lots of fun Christmas and Halloween stamps to choose from! HERE is a video explaining the Qsets even further. Here's my card, featuring the Catnap Christmas Stamps and Dies.

I colored this kitty with Memento Markers. I used the coordinating die to cut him out, and then I created my background. I cut down a piece of white cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4." I applied some Twisted Citron and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink to my craft mat and sprayed it with water. I dragged the piece of cardstock through it, heat set it and reinked it a few times until I was happy with the results. Then I made sure it dried completely before I went on to my next step. I also inked up the oval that I would be using for the sentiment.

After the Oxides were dry, I used Festive Berries Distress Ink (not the Oxide) on a retro squares stencil (from Dreamweaver/Stampendous) with a small ink dauber. I allowed this to dry while I made my card base. I inked up the edge of my sentiment with Cottage Ivy Memento Ink and adhered it and the kitty to the background, and then to the card base.

Please be sure to visit the Stampendous Blog to see more fun creations using the new Qsets. I'll be back very soon with another project. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Deco Art and Andy Skinner Hop

This is a very exciting week for the Stampendous team! We are hanging out with the ultra cool Deco Art Mixed Media team, each using each other's products to share some incredible creations with you. These companies go hand in hand, so using each other's products is easy. And the results are amazing. We are of course featuring Andy Skinner's stamps, who is the DecoArt International Education Coordinator.  And yup, there are prizes! But I want you to go to the Stampendous Blog for all of that info. The link is at the bottom of the post. Now, on to my project. I made a cool wall hanging today. I started off with a piece of MDF and I drilled 2 holes, and covered it with DecoArt's white Gesso. After it dried, I used Andy's Alcohol and Media fluid Acrylics Layering Technique. You can check out his how-to video HERE . Needless to say, it's a great technique, and I loved doing it. Once I finished with the aforementioned technique, I sealed the piece w
