Woody Christmas

Greetings! This week the Stampendous team is featuring projects with "Trees." Christmas trees, spooky trees, stenciled trees, etc. For my project today, I decided to use one of my favorite Christmas images from the July catalog, Woody Christmas. Now, I'm a fake tree kinda gal, but there's something special about the way this old woody has been decorated that makes me excited for Christmas. My full tutorial is below.

Supplies:
Stampendous:
P311: Woody Christmas
TP102: Gold Tinsel
DCP1006: Fitted Frames Set B

Other:
My Colors Cardstock: Evergreen
Zig Clean Color Markers: 010, 022, 034, 038, 044, 051, 062, 065, 068, 072, 090, 091, 095, 260, 302, 400
Imagine: Summer Sky and Rich Cocoa Memento Ink, Onyx Black VersaFine Ink, VersaMarker, Sponge Dauber
Canson: Mixed Media Paper
Ranger: Water Brush
Kraft Cardstock
Kukoyo Dot Runner

Directions:
1. Stamp the image on to Mixed Media Paper using VersaFine ink.

2. Color the image using the Zig Clean Color Markers listed. Use a water brush as needed.

3. Using the VersaMarker, apply dots to the ornaments on the wreath and garland and heat emboss with Gold Tinsel.

4. Die cut the colored image with the Large "P" Fitted Frame.

5. Ink the edges of the die cut image with Summer Sky Memento.

6. Die cut a piece of Evergreen Cardstock using the Small "R" Fitted Frame.

7. Create the card base out of Kraft Cardstock, cut to the size of 5 1/2" x 8."

8. Using a sponge dauber, ink the edges of the card base in a circular motion, beginning off the edge of the card and working in, with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink.

9. Using the Rich Cocoa Ink again, apply color directly from the pad to the very edge of the card base, keeping the line thin.

10. Adhere the two die cut layers to the card base.

Below is the rest of the Design Team that is posting today. Please be sure to leave them some love, and to check out the Stampendous Blog for more tree-mendous projects. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

This is colored so realistically that I can almost smell the pine scent and feel the metal of the car! You did a pine 🌲 and dandy job on this lovely card! TFS!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off ...

Two Huge Valentine’s Day Hops!

I am in not one, but two Valentine’s Day hops! Not bad for someone that doesn’t even like Valentine’s Day… The first is via Smeared & Smudged . It’s time for our monthly Member Blog Hop! The second was started by Taylor Usry . Please bear with me…this post is long because I am sharing 2 projects and the hop lists are huge. Let’s stat with Smeared & Smudged, shall we? My dear friend Alex and I collaborated on the theme for this month’s S&S Member Hop. Instead of making it a free-for –all, we decided to challenge our members a little…create something Valentine’s Day / love themed, but there is a catch.  Because we are Smeared and Smudged you can not use any of the following: No hearts No red or pink Nothing ‘cute’ unless you make it uncute of course :) Ok, so it’s not dark and scary…but it’s definitely not cute either. I used my colored pencils for the focal image.  It’s from Smeared Ink’s Smitten collection. The “pretty fly” is from the teir teen...
