Jude and the Rockers Christmas Release Continued

Greetings! I have a couple more cards to share with you from the new Simply Betty Stamps release. We have new images from the adorable Jude and the Rockers collection…this time we’re focusing on Christmas. The entire release is available for purchase right now, and I showed you 2 cards yesterday. If you haven’t seen them, you should take a peek! I’ve got 2 more today. First up is Big Gift Lily.

I want her jammies! Actually, Phoenix has very similar ones, but his are red. And look at her cool wrapping paper! I decided to make paper similar to the wrapping paper, so I took a skull and cross bones from the Bombshell Stamps set, Speed Shop and embossed them in white all over my green cardstock.

I colored Lily in with my colored pencils. It feels so good to work with them more frequently again! Markers are cool, but here’s just something about pencils that gets me so happy.

I wonder what’s in that big box??? Next up is Mistleholly Brittany.

More awesome pj’s! I love pajamas. I would own so many if I could. :) Brittany was colored in with my markers. I know, I know…all of these happy thoughts about pencils, then I go and show you something with markers? I do love my markers. I just can’t physically work with pencils for as long as I’d like to, where as I can go much longer with the markers.

I am so happy with the hair on both of these girls. I did them both a bit differently from what I’ve done in the past, and I think these are the most successful. It’s fun to experiment with all the ways you can color them up!

There you have it. There are a couple of images I haven’t gotten to use yet, but I’ll be using them in the near future. And I’m sure that Phoenix and Rhiannon will as well! Rhiannon is already working on coloring an image for the next Simply Betty Stamps release. If you missed Betty’s post yesterday, please be sure to visit the SBS Blog to see all of the other new images, and what the rest of the DT has created. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

I do love Brittany's hair...I tried this way of coloring her hair too. Me thinks yours is better! Lovely cards, doll!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
