Teen Scene Halloween Preview!

Greetings! I took a few days off from bloggy land because my family and I went on a wonderful vacation to Pennsylvania. We did not want to come home. But, life was calling…and so was this fabulous new release from Simply Betty Stamps! You are going to LOVE this collection. Today we are previewing 3 images, and on Tuesday, we will be showing the rest and they will be available for sale starting then as well!

First, I bring you Mummy London. She’s awesome. From her beautiful hair, to her sneaky little kitty…

Isn’t she great? Don’t you just wish your hair was that fabulous? I used a new punch I just scored from EK Success on the top and bottom of the yellow cardstock. And I used some twill ribbon that I painted some Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist on.

I colored London’s Skin with Copics, her hair and accessories with watercolor markers, and everything else is done with Distress Inks. I used Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and Pumice Stone (for her cat). I am very happy with how it all turned out. :)

Ok…here’s a little secret…I don’t know how you print out your digis, but I try to squeeze as many on a sheet that I can. Which is great usually, but sometimes I want a nice big rectangle around my image. Well, another image was a wee bit too close to this one, so it messed up the bottom. I couldn’t get a straight line without cutting off the bottom of the image. And we just can’t have that! So. I decided to use the twill. But having it straight across wasn’t interesting enough for me, so I bumped it using Glue Dots. Ugly edge is gone and is now replaced with something cool!

Now…I’d like you to say “Hello!” to Igor Miller. Don’t be scared! He’s really very sweet.

Isn’t he a cutie? I colored him in with my watercolor markers and…get this…Crayola markers too! All of the browns are Crayolas…from the Multicultural set. I have that set in pencil as well…and I knew I had to get the markers when I visited the Crayola Factory a couple of weeks ago. Here’s a close up.

I like his skin…it’s layers of green and I think E000 from Copic. All of the other bitty stamped images you see, including the sentiment, is from Inkadinkado.

Today the Simply Betty gals are also previewing Evil Queen Rio. So you must be sure to check her out on the rest of the DT’s blogs. I hope you have enjoyed my little preview. Please be sure to come back tomorrow. You are going to go NUTS when you see the next few images!!! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!!!

These are fabulous!! I love your idea about the twill ribbon...I have the same issue. I use special paper for my Copics, so I want to print as many digis on one sheet as I can. LOL Great tip. =D I love your coloring and shading on both cards! That new punch you have is fantastic!! Very cool cards.

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Deco Art and Andy Skinner Hop

This is a very exciting week for the Stampendous team! We are hanging out with the ultra cool Deco Art Mixed Media team, each using each other's products to share some incredible creations with you. These companies go hand in hand, so using each other's products is easy. And the results are amazing. We are of course featuring Andy Skinner's stamps, who is the DecoArt International Education Coordinator.  And yup, there are prizes! But I want you to go to the Stampendous Blog for all of that info. The link is at the bottom of the post. Now, on to my project. I made a cool wall hanging today. I started off with a piece of MDF and I drilled 2 holes, and covered it with DecoArt's white Gesso. After it dried, I used Andy's Alcohol and Media fluid Acrylics Layering Technique. You can check out his how-to video HERE . Needless to say, it's a great technique, and I loved doing it. Once I finished with the aforementioned technique, I sealed the piece w
