SISC69: Goin’ Goth! Plus, Sweet Gothic Kids Christmas Preview Day 5: Tilly

It’s a big day! A fang-tastic new StampInsanity challenge is up, and I have another Simply Betty Stamps preview to share with you!

This week’s StampInsanity challenge is Goin’ Goth! What could be better?!?! For this challenge, I used one of my favorite SI images, Lilith.

I kept it looking kind of unfinished on purpose. Goth is creepy, gets you thinking… I wanted it to look like the story may or may not be finished here.

I colored Lilith with my watercolor markers. I think she came out pretty rad. If you click on any of my pics, you can get a bigger, better view.

I obviously didn’t want to go with all black for this card. Too obvious for me. I wanted those pops of color to be unexpected and surprising. I love this paper I have on the left side. It’s so soft and fibrous. It tears beautifully. I “stitched” on top of it with black Stickles. I am really happy with the end result.

On to something…cuter. ;) It’s time to meet Reindeer Tilly. Who I think may be my favorite image from this Simply Betty release (though it’s really tough to choose!).

Isn’t she adorable? I know…I don’t use “adorable” on my blog much…but how could you resist her? And look…she’s got a teeny spider on her ear!

Tilly, unlike Lilith, was colored entirely with my pencils. There’s a lot of layering goin’ on here, and I couldn’t be happier with how she turned out.

My sentiment is from Tattered Angels. I kept this card (like some of the others I’ve shown this week) non-Christmas-y. I wanted you to see the versatility of these fab images.

Please be sure to visit the rest of the Ward 2 gals of StampInsanity.

Mediterranean Dreams Shaker

Hello! Today I have a card that features the Mediterranean Dreams Subscription Kit from White Rose Crafts.  This fabulous Subscription Kit brings together sparkling, azure Mediterranean seas, sun-bleached shores and the rich colors of vibrant Mediterranean cultures in a carefully curated kit. I knew I just had to try the Jillibean Soup shaker card and I chose to use one of the stamps (from Kaisercraft) to make my background. I stamped the seashell with Tea Dye Distress Oxide all over the background of the card. Then I applied some Walnut Stain Distress Oxide to my craft mat, spritzed it with some water, and splattered it on to my card base. Last, I inked the edges with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide with a Mini Blending Brush. For my sentiment, I die cut a stitched rectangle from my stash, out of the pearly yellow cardstock that came in the kit and stamped it with "Wish You Were Here" stamp from the same "Summer Splash" stamp set, with StazOn Pigment ink. Echo Park Blog Hop with Imagine

Greetings! This is my second post for the day. This one is not part of the 31 Days of Halloween, but rather a super-duper blog hop that the Artists in Residence for Imagine are doing with Echo Park . So if you're here for my Day 7 project, please check out the post HERE . But before you do that, scroll on to check out this one. There are prizes up for grabs, so be sure to check out the Imagine Blog as well as the Echo Park Blogs for details. I created my background by applying Dandelion and Tangelo Memento Ink to my brayer. Then I sprayed it with Ink Potion No. 9 to help the colors blend and to act as an extender to keep the inks wet longer. After I rolled the colors out on to watercolor paper and let it dry, I stamped the lovely doily-like image from Echo Park's Simply Sweet Stamp Set with Grape Jelly Memento. I also received the super pretty Heart Doily Designer Die  which I used with a true purple cardstock. But it needed something....and in rolls the super fabul...
