Some Fun Info!

I have a couple of things to tell you about today. First, I am cordially inviting you to the very first Smeared and Smudged Blog Hop. It’s tomorrow!!!  We have lots of amazing talent over there and we’d love to show it off a bit! Won’t you please join us? You can start the hop from any point, be it here at my blog, the S&S blog, or any of the other members. We will all have a full hop list posted on our blogs. It’s going to be awesome!!!

The next thing I’m excited to share with you is a new Challenge Blog called Friends Having Fun. It was started by my awesome friend Tonya (the mastermind behind Twilight Tuesday). I’m really excited because it’s going to be a great blog. But, I’ll let Tonya fill you in on the deets. Here’s what she wrote:

The Friends Having Fun challenge blog is almost ready to start having fun!

We have four teams and each team will host a weekly challenge.

Let’s meet our team leaders:

Alison – Color Challenge (week 1)

Dani – Sketch Challenge (week 2)

Sarabeth – Recipe Challenge (week 3)

Erica – Pop Culture Challenge (week 4)

Each team is looking for 3-4 friends (design team members) who would like to have fun!

Deets:

  • 3 Month Term

  • Post 1 time a month

  • Can apply for as many teams as you’d like but can only be accepted to 2 max at a time. Please indicate your preference order. At the end of term, you can apply for another team!

  • Bring your fun! We’re looking for topic ideas to post about during the week. For example, home organization, health information, exercise, travel, etc.

  • Entries must be received by Friday, March 12th. Terms start in April.

  • Email 2 of your favorite projects, a little about yourself and your blog address to tonya@stamphappens.com. Prior experience is not necessary.

Anyone who is interested in sponsoring us should contact Margie for information.

So, who wants to be on my team??? I just want to say that this is NOT a competition, but I need some friends who want to be on the Color Challenge Design Team!!! Won’t you join me???

All the teams are cooking up some awesome ideas, and I’m sure that everyone will have a blast. I can’t wait for it all to begin! You’ll probably recognize many if not all the Team Leaders. It will be great to work with all of them again!

So make sure you stop back here tomorrow for the Smeared and Smudged Blog Hop, and then get your entries for the Friends Having Fun Challenge over to Tonya! Have a great day!!!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
