Sunday was finally my Baby Girl’s Blessing Ceremony. It was pure magick. Several of you have been asking how it went, so I wanted to share some photos with you. I wanted to get them up sooner, but the photos taken with my camera didn’t come out so good, so I wanted to see my sister’s photos. Over the weekend, I’ll be getting some others from my Aunt, so I should have a nice collection soon. Maybe I’ll be able to put together a mini album! If I ever find time… :}
The lighting in this room was weird, everyone seemed to have a tough time photographing it correctly. But here we are, the happy foursome!
This is as the Godparents (my sis Pam, and my cousin Zac) were about to do their readings. Our Minister (Priestess) April, not only did Phoenix’s Blessing, but she also preformed our Wedding Ceremony!
She is getting anointed with oils.
We had a “Clay Ceremony” in which the 4 of us imprinted our thumb prints into clay as a gift for Rhiannon. April is holding the disk of clay out to me.
This cord is meant to represent a Hug. This is our tangible Family Hug. It is a safe place for us to have family discussions, share emotions, problems, etc. Similar to what is used in Spanish Wedding Ceremonies, but customized for us.
Here, April is dropping rose petals on Rhi. We used 4 different colors, representing different things. Rhi was so confused! She was watching them fall and trying to grab them!
This photo is a bit blurry, but at least you can see the true colors here.
We had also lit a memory candle for those no longer with us (like my Dad), just like we have at our other ceremonies.
I hope to get some layouts made soon… and like I said, maybe even a mini album! Hope you enjoyed your little peek into Rhiannon’s Baby Blessing. It was an amazing experience for all of us!
