Winter Bombshell Angel: Day 8 of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Christmas

I must start off today’s post by writing a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! to my daughter, Rhiannon. She is 2 years old today!!! I love you, Baby Rhi!!! On to my card…remember the last Bombshell Stamps card I had made? Click HERE to check it out.  I had used Bombshell Angel along with stamps from the Pin-stripes set to make wings. Here’s another version of that idea…but done a whole lot softer. Don’t these Pin-stripes make fab wings too? I’m telling you, you’ve gotta get that set!!! I colored my Angel using my EK Success Watercolor Markers, and I embossed the wings with a bright, shiny gold. The paper I used is definitely not Christmas-y…not even really Wintery, so I added the “Winter” definition stamp to kind of get that feeling of Winter in your head. The definition was stamped in a pearly blue, and there are touches of glitter on the patterned paper. And, I added 3 Dew Drops (stuck down with Stickles), to the bottom of the card. I think it’s really pretty, and totally...

Day 7 of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Christmas: Gene’s Card

Welcome to the 7th day! I’m really excited about this card, because I made it for my husband. I slipped it to him this morning before he left for work. I hope he likes it!!! So the other day, you probably saw my latest StampInsanity card featuring Maddie as me . Well, the challenge was to create an All About Me card! This card has me too…but a bit…uh…sassier! And with red hair instead of teal. This is Allura Von D from Kenny K . I won her because I was one of the chosen 12 who got to name their new Krash Kittenz! I named Harley Ryder , and she sure is a stunner! Be sure to check out that whole collection! Anywho…I think that Allura actually does look like me…just with a rockin’ bod! The ponytail with the pieces in the front…the dark eye makeup…the fishnet…she even has a widow’s peak like me! As soon as I saw her, I knew I had to have her. And I knew she would be perfect for a card for my husband! So I gave her my other signature hair color and colored her up holiday s...

Joy Card: Day 6 of the S&S 12 Days of Christmas

Halfway there! It’s the 6th installment of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Christmas. Today’s card is made up with 4 stamps. 2 of which are repeated over and over, for a really pretty look. The holly and the berries are inked, stamped a few times, and then re-inked and stamped again. It’s important to not ink the images each time, because it gives a much softer, more natural look. Plus, you need to remember to continuously rotate the image. I love cardinals. They were my Dad’s favorite bird. And he often visits me via cardinal, so this stamp set (from Rubber Stamp Tapestry; it came with the berries, holly, and cardinal) is really special to me. Gene bought it for me several years ago, and I just love it. The card needed a little something extra, so I stamped this “Joy” in the corner (Inkadinkado), and also used a corner punch from EK. I also added a bit of Sakura’s Clear Stardust pen here and there, as you can see in this photo. Please be sure to visit the rest o...

SISC #38 & Day 5 of S&S 12 Days of Christmas

Hello! It’s a double post day! I have a new StampInsanity Challenge to share with you, as well as another card for the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Christmas. Let’s start with StampInsanity… This week’s challenge is “All About Me!” Which, if you read my post from yesterday, isn’t tooo hard of a topic for me! ;} You are to make a card that you would give to yourself. Fun right? I think this card fits me to a tee! Bold colors, wacky patterns, and a little bit of glitter! This is one of the new Holiday Maddies. I bet you expected Nicholette or Pierette, right? Originally, I was going to use one of them…but then I remembered this Maddie, with her beautiful cape and her candle…and really that is me to the core. I colored her hair to look just like mine (of course!), and I gave her a purple cape…also just like mine! I used my colored pencils on her. The only thing that’s not me is the color of her eyes. I wish I had green eyes…I’ve got brown. The “Hard Rockin’” senti is also StampIn...

Alison’s 2010 Holiday Wish List

So last year I decided to put up a list of the schtuff I wanted for the Holidays… just for kicks really. And people actually did get a kick out of it! I wound up getting a few things that were on the list, and some of the companies I had mentioned got some business. So…why not do it again? In no particular order… 1. A 10” skillet with a clear lid, handle that is not made of metal, high walls, and an extra handle on the side. I’m not too specific, am I??? 2. Simply Supernatural rubber stamp set from StampInsanity . I have coveted it for a looong time now. My fingers wanna get inky with them! Is that too graphic? 3. Epic Mickey for the Wii. Do I really need to give a reason? Not only is it Mickey…but it’s epic !!! 4. Uzi eye shadow from Urban Decay. My favorite eye shadow eva!!! And I am almost out of it! Sniff! 5. Oven Mitts . I kid you not. My oven mitts suck. And frankly…that is just not something they should do! 6. Nick & Nora Owl PJ’s for Me and Rhiannon. Yes. I...

Bleak December: Day 4 of Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Christmas

Today I bring you a sort of anti-holiday holiday card. I hope you at least get a good chuckle! One of the latest and greatest stamp sets that I have acquired from Smeared Ink is Quoth the Raven. And I needed to make at least one “holiday” card with it! Look! Poe is playing peek-a-boo with you! I have this fantastic wreath from Inkadinkado (that you will see more of before month’s end), that was begging for a bit of silliness. Poe fit the bill! I am entering this card in to this week’s Macabre Monday …you are to use only 8 things. Total. That’s hard, I gotta say! But I did it! 1. Card 2. Poe’s head 3. Wreath 4 Raven 5. Sentiment 6. Rhinestone 7. Bow 8. Grey paper As far as my sentiment…I took that from a line from “The Raven” Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December, And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor. Doesn’t that just scream “Happy Holidays!” to you? No? Oh well… Please be sure to visit the rest of the ...

Winter Bird: Day 3 of 12 Days of Christmas

Happy Day 3 of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Christmas! Today I bring you a very pretty card. Not dark or macabre. Just plain old pretty. I hope you agree! I have this beautiful set of birds from Inkadinkado (you will probably see more of them this month)…and I just love them. They are really fun and inspiring to work with. I stamped that first, and created the rest of the card around it. Sorry that this pic is a little dark…I did use true white cardstock though. I embossed the bird, used my one and only Spellbinder shape (I really need more of those!), and chalked the edge. Then I stamped the snowflakes directly on to the card using a pearly blue ink. Added a bit of patterned paper, and a line of Stickles. Easy, but again… pretty . Please be sure to visit the rest of the Jolly Bloggers, posted on my sidebar. And may I ask a favor? Will you please check out my post from yesterday? It gives the info about voting for your favorite Bombshell DT creation…plus I...
