Smeared & Smudged Blog Hop: Hidden Object

Greetings! It’s time for a blog hop with Smeared & Smudged! This hop isn’t just for the DT members, it was open to everyone on the board. How cool is that? This time our theme will be: Hidden Object. Make a project with a hidden feature or themed around hiding. After all of the silliness that happened after I made my Peep Show Box (see that post HERE ), I knew that with this topic, I needed to revisit the subject. I used the Wood Nymph once again…’cause she’s really cool…and I did a card version of the Peep Show. Now you see it… Now you don’t! I’m pretty sure this isn’t what Terra and Tori intended for these images, but it’s just too hard to resist!!! See??? Doesn’t it look like a dress now??? This definition is also a part of this stamp set. I added some Distress Stickles to her limbs for some dimension, and I chalked the outer edge of the card. I didn’t want to do too much, since I wanted the focus to be on her and her dress (or lack there of!). I hope you like it! I know I d...

Macabre Monday #50: Again!

I mentioned in yesterday’s post that I had another idea for Macabre Monday’s “Foul Flutterings” challenge. Sadly, I don’t have time to write much, as it’s my sister Pam’s Birthday (the big 2-5!), but here’s kind of what I originally had in mind… I used two images from Smeared Ink. A couple of my faves, actually!   Isn’t the Praise Angel fabulous??? COMPLETELY different from the first time I used him! Check out his shimmery wings… Twinkle H20’s baby! I think it came out pretty cool…though it’s not exactly what I had envisioned… But I do think it has a great creep factor! What do YOU think???

QKD Whimsical Sketch Challenge (and Macabre Monday #50)

Today is the very first time I have played along with the Whimsical Ink Sorority .  Alex , one of my fellow Smeared & Smudgers (and member of the Kaleidoscope Krew!) mentioned this challenge the other day on the forum. So I decided I just had to play along! It’s a sketch challenge; and here is the sketch. Cool. I just happened to have a couple images from QKD from a swap I did with the S&S girls. I need to get me some of these stamps because they’re fab! Isn’t my batty-wench fabulous? Now, you may have noticed in my title that I also mentioned Macabre Monday #50 . That challenge is “Foul Flutterings.” Now, I put it in parenthesis not to undermine the creep-tastic Mondays, (have I mentioned that I made Gruesome Twosome with my Jack O’ Lantern Shaker Box card?????) but because this is not the project I originally intended to enter for it. I have another one up my sleeve that I hope (fingers crossed!) to have done tomorrow. So hopefully I will have tow entries this ...

StampInsanity #21 Petals & Swirls Galore!

It’s Thursday! You know what that means! It’s time for another StampInsanity Challenge with the Groovy Gurlz! And, since it’s the first Thursday in August, we have a new Guest Gurl! Welcome Jane to the bunch!!! This week’s project is to use some flowers and swirls on your projects this week! The more the better! So this is what I came up with. So yeah…I didn’t go too far into the realm of flowers…and maybe not too far into the swirl category either…but I do think I did just the right amount for this card. I really wanted to use the lovely pearl mermaid so I colored her in (I always do my coloring first), and then tried to find papers to go with her. I thought it was a total score when I found the green cardstock (DCWV). I just loved the Celtic like swirls…and they reminded me of fins! Then I came across the purple floral (K & Co.), and thought it was just enough flowers…and the perfect shade of purple! Here’s a close up of the beautiful mermaid. What do you thin of h...

Wild Flower Wednesday #26

I have someone special for you to meet…her name is Willow. She is one of the latest images that I’ve gotten from The Wild Flower Kids digi collection, and I think she is so sweet! Isn’t she??? I love how she’s sitting, perched on a lily pad…her pretty wings, and her lovely face. Wild Flower Kids is one of the sponsors over at Smeared & Smudged this month! If you play along with our Sketch Challenges, you have the chance of winning 5 digis (of your choice)! How cool is that? Jen Shults, owner and designer behind WFK, was kind enough to give the S&S DT some digis to play with. I already have several (‘cause I love ‘em!), but I just had to have Willow here and Iris…who you will see soon. The latest WFK challenge came out today, since it is Wednesday, and the challenge was purr-fect for me! Embossing! Emboss anything, in any way. So, I decided to do some dry embossing. I took out my Fiskars plates, and embossed away on some Core’dinations cardstock. Then, I sanded it, s...

Friends Having Fun Color Challenge #5

Happy August! It is time for the fifth Color Challenge from Friends Having Fun ! Here’s what I wrote on the FHF site: Hello and welcome to the fifth Color Challenge with Friends Having Fun! The Kaleidoscope Krew have another fabulous set of colors to share with you, as well as some awesome projects to go with them! Here are the colors! When I first picked these colors, I was inspired by thoughts of Summer and vacations. Walking on the beach on a tropical island at sunset… but that’s me! What do these colors make YOU think of? I decided to go with a layout of my baby girl… I took this picture of her just a couple of weeks ago.. I was taking photos of some items for my Mom’s Etsy shop , and she jumped on the couch and started posing! How could I not take a picture (or 3) of this pretty little face? She looks so sweet here…really not at all like a baby…a little girl. I mixed up a whole bunch of patterns as usual…picking things that didn’t appear to really work together…b...

Peep Show!

How’d ya like my title??? Let me start off by saying, I had NO idea how to correctly photograph this project. And it’s a shame…because it’s pretty damn cool. My sis who’s a photography pro wasn’t around to aid me in this…so I’m gonna try and snag her to retake these dreadful photos. Now that that’s out of the way…I started to play with my Nymphs stamp set from Smeared Ink . And I cam up with what I thought was a fabulous (and funny!) idea. You can let me know what you think… So I painted this little box. I used some branches from the Tree Nymph and a few dabs of Distress Stickles in Peeled Paint…you’ll see a detail shot in a minute. But wait? What’s that blotch on top of the glass??? Why, it’s the dress the Tree Nymph is wearing! And look…there she is down at the bottom of the box! Hello down there!!! I guess she’s feeling a little self conscious…wait a second…maybe not… Gasp! She’s taking off her dress!!! The glass panel in the box slides out so you can put your treasures inside. ...
