I Got My “Sites” Set On You…

Sometimes, when you get inspiration, you’ve just gotta run with it. Run until you’ve exhausted all ideas. Just to make sure you didn’t miss anything. Today I am sharing another Smeared Ink card, (from the Chicks Dig Guns Collection) using the Chick in her undies. I have once again added sites to her, as though she’s bein’ tracked by her enemy. Husband? Husband’s Mistress? Sniper? I’ll let you decide. But this time, I colored it in a bit differently. And to refresh your memory, here is how I had colored her in last time: Here’s a close up of this version:   See all of the differences? I really wanted the sites to stand out again. But differently. So this time, I colored them in with red marker. A nice, bright red. Nix picked out the green for her, uh, outfit. And of course, the sentiment is from this collection too. See the brown paper? That’s actually a flower. It’s a huge magnolia, but since I was using such a small piece, you can’t tell. I like that it look...

A Smokin’ Gun

Greetings! I have been busy working on several projects all at once (is it just me?), and I finished one to show you. My craft room is upstairs, and the kiddies really can’t go up there for a number of reasons. So I am stuck working on partial projects until I can get some time in my room. So I am constantly coloring in images lately. No complaints here of course, but now I have a bunch of images with no homes! I had originally planned on making a card for today’s Friends Having Fun sketch challenge, but I’ll have to hold that off for today. I had colored in one of my new fave images and again, she was homeless. So, I decided to give this pretty lady a home. And, what’s really cool is that this was another one of those cards that just fell into place. Not a whole lot of thinking required here! This baby has another couple of stamps from the Chicks Dig Guns collection from Smeared Ink . I love this set. The chicks are all so different, yet all so pissed off! And can I just tell you tha...

Gettin’ Punky With It…

I am participating in my very first Club Anya and Friends Challenge ! There was just NO WAY I could pass this one up! It’s all about “Gettin’ Punky!” No, not Punky Brewster. Like real punk. Think CBGB, Rancid, London, Anarchy…get the picture? Check out my rockin’ card! I really love how this turned out. I worked my tail off on this one, and it turned out just how I wanted. I lamented over the paper for so long…ask my husband (who by the way, was totally helpful! Thanks, Babe!). I colored in Miss Ebony fairly quickly… but the paper…oh the paper! It was tough. I knew what I wanted (kind of) but couldn’t find it. Then, it all came together! Now, it was suggested we add metal embellishments. Perfect! I knew I needed to do that anyway. I added jump rings to my eyelets, and take a close look at Ebony to see where I added them to her! Please click on the pics for a better look. It’s tough to see what I did with a small photo. I gave her earrings! I really wanted to give her like...

StampInsanity Challenge #4: Stair Step Card

Greetings my fellow paper fanatics! It is time for another fabulous StampInsanity Challenge! This week, we were challenged to create a stair step card (something I never did before), while using one (or more) of Beth’s fabulous images. Learn how to make one of these yourself HERE . Check out my card! There’s a lot going on here so please click on the image(s) to see it bigger! This was a lot of fun. And my husband was super impressed with it so that’s a bonus! I used a whole lot of products, once again. I love being able to do that! I don’t really like sticking with one or two companies for a project. I love to mix it up! In this picture you’ll see that I used punches, embossing folders, Glimmer Mists, Alcohol Inks, ribbon and tags. Whew! That’s a whole lotta stuff! The sentiment is also from StampInsanity. Here is a close up of Joszette. I colored her with my Spectracolor colored pencils. I think she is so cool! She’s so chill just sittin’ up on top of my card ain’t she...

Janie’s Got a Gun…

Janie may have a gun, but someone has their sites set on Janie! Here is my very first card using one of the brand new stamp sets from Smeared and Smudged . It’s from the Chicks Dig Guns Collection. This chic is pissed! Obviously, this lady who either heard a bump in the night, or is really pissed off at her lover! I used 3 of the stamps from this set. Then I used the site stamp on the background of the card and on parts of her body. I only colored her in where the sites are. Here’s a closer look. I love how this all came out. I think I will use this same partial coloring technique on some of the other ‘Chicks” in this collection. I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain- one of my faves. And here’s the inside. Nothing too crazy… just a little “flash.” The bullets are also of course from this crazy collection. Have you checked out the other Smeared Ink stamps? Well, you should! They are unlike anything else that’s out there! Go check ‘em out. Have an inspiri...
