Add Some Lace with A Day for Daisies

Hello! It's time for a new challenge with A Day for Daises, and the team will continue to feature the April Club Kit: Vintage Brides. The challenge theme for the next two weeks is "Add Some Lace." I used Vintage Bride Lady for my project. She's so lovely. I used my Tombow watercolor markers to color her in, and then I ever-so-carefully fussy cut her out. I die cut a couple of Dreamweaver Stencils' ovals, and then I used their beautiful Damask stencil. Each of these things are now carried by Stampendous . For the Damask stencil, I used Imagine Crafts ' Creative Medium in Sliver. That stuff is luscious. I added my pink lace on the side of my card, and I just had to add some pretty dots of Imagine Crafts'  irRESISTables  Pico Embellisher in Shimmer.  That's it for me today. Please be sure to visit the  A Day for Daises Blog  to see what he rest of the team created with the new Brides. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

First Look: April Club Kit with ADfD

Hello! Happy April! I am really excited to share a first look at the new April Club Kit with A Day for Daises . Wedding season is almost upon us, (in fact, I have a wedding to go to this month!) so what is more fitting than a beautiful set of bride images? These ladies are all so lovely, I'm sure you'll love them. Today, I used Vintage Bride Veil. I colored this image with my Tombow Dual Brush markers. I think she looks so regal that I didn't want to add too much "fluff" to the rest of the card. Here's a close up. I did think the card needed some sparkle and shine, so I broke out Imagine Crafts ' irRESISTables Pico Embellisher in Wedding Dress and Shimmer. I added Shimmer Dots on the image layer, and Wedding Dress on the metallic cardstock. I also added some of each in the corners of the right side of the card. I also spritzed some Sheer Shimmer spray on my card base. The photo below shows some of the sparkle. You can click on the photo to see ...

Flamingo Couple with A Day for Daisies

Hello! I am happy to share my 2nd post as a Design Team member for A Day for Daisies . Today, I am sharing the new and fantastic Flamingo Couple. I chose to work with this image because I am positively a flamingo fanatic. I have collected them for many, many years, and I just love them. So this was the perfect image for me. They are so sweet! I used watercolors on the image, and I touched up the outline a bit with my small Black PITT pen from Faber-Castell. Sometimes with watercolors, the original image gets washed out from the paint, so I like to go over it a bit to make it stand out again. I kept the background simple, and layered up some fun patterned paper scraps that I had laying around. I added a few fun pink gems that had a black mottling on them too. There are lots of other feathered friends being featured on the A Day for Daisies Blog . Please go and check them all out! Thanks fr stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Day 29 of 31: Monster Love

Really?! Only 2 more days of this super-fabulous month?! I cannot believe it! I will say that it is an exciting day for me though. Today is my Anniversary with my wonderful husband. 9 awesome years of marriage. So today's card is rather appropriate. Dilly Beans has some fun new images...just in time for Halloween! I used Frankie and His Bride . Awww....aren't they cute together? I colored the happy couple with my alcohol markers. I did another quickie care, mostly because I really wanted these two to take center stage. I used some fun chevron paper and a cool button I had, plus my simple doodle border around the card. And now...for your viewing pleasure...... And what a magical day it was.....Happy Anniversary Gene! I love you to the depths of my soul.  And for the rest of you...please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Blogger, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fang-tastic day!

Another Simple Elegant Pumpkin Card...Day 30 0f 31 Days

Greetings! What a whirlwind of a day we had yesterday! As you know, it was my Anniversary (thank you so much for all of the well-wishes!), but what you may not know is that here in the North East, we had some pretty awful weather. Snow for one thing! In October? Unheard of! Many, many people without power and heat. We lost power twice yesterday. As a result, our main computer has frtized, and I'm not sure if it will work again. In addition, our oil burner isn't working. Thankfully, it should be fairly warm today. So I'm typing this up on our laptop, with no watermark (yikes!), and without Live Writer ( I hate typing directly into Blogger). Because yesterday was so busy, I had to scurry and make a quickie card. I made it in a similar fashion to one I had shown you mid-month, because I loved how it turned out. And you all seemed to like it as well! I put a smear of Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink where tyhe pumpkin would be, then stamped the image (Inkadinkado) on top with Sta...

TTIC Color Challenge #3: Bella & Edward’s Wedding Flowers

I am happy to be bringing you the 3rd Twilight Tuesday Color Challenge today! These are pretty different from the normal Twi-colors of red, black and white, so I am really excited about this challenge! Here’s what I wrote on the TTIC Blog: Here are the Bella and Edward’s Wedding Flowers! We’ve got Lilac, Orange Blossom (yes, for those of you with green thumbs out there, orange blossoms are actually white…but just work with me here ok? ) and finally, Rose. It’s a very soft palate. And I hate the winter… so I needed a pick me up with these colors! These are the lovely flowers Alice picked out for the Wedding. What a pretty combo of flowers don’tcha think? So create something soft and beautiful for this challenge. Can’t wait to see what you come up with! Like I said, different right? So here’s what I came up with: Now, I’m still sick with this awful cold… so the card is missing a little pizzazz… but at 9PM when I was working on this card last night, the pizzazz-making part of my bra...

My Anniversary Gift to Gene

I had pondered for quite some time trying to figure out what in the world to make Gene for our Anniversary. I even started a thread with my beloved Twi-Girls about it! They were such a huge help! Now, I am armed with some really great gift ideas! But, I decided in the end to make him a layout from our Wedding. I used two of my favorite pictures. Gene and I had a Handfasting Ceremony. Know the phrase “tying the knot?” Well, this is where it comes from! See how our hands are bound? Click on the photo to make it bigger! It symbolizes the union of two people. It is supposed to remain tied forever. Our knot is now in a shadowbox with our Wedding certificate. So that’s where the title comes from. The other photo of us I love too. It’s just pretty and romantic. Plus, I have on my gorgeous cape! These ribbons are actually from the Wedding! I had some leftover (ok, a lot leftover!) from the bouquets that we made (yup, my Mom and I made ALL of the flower arrangements!), so I thought it would...

It’s My Wedding Anniversary!

1,825 days ago, I married my Best Friend. My Soul Mate. I’d like to share a few photos with you and invite you to look at our wedding web site from The Knot. Please peruse around the site to learn about how we met, and a bit of our magical day! Click HERE to view the site! How amazing are our rings?!? I love this photo. I love how my makeup turned out. How cool is this picture?!? Another favorite of mine. This is a great shot of my dress and cape. My Mom made BOTH!!! Ahhhh… what a moment!!! I’ll have some other things to share with you, probably early next week. Can’t show you yet!!! But because of the Halloween Hop I’m in, it will have to wait a few extra days. Hey! Did you check out my last post? It’s got some great Halloween photos! Make sure you take a peek! Hope you enjoyed this post. It brings back such beautiful memories. Hmmm, maybe I should pop in my wedding video! Enjoy your day. I know I will!

TTIC #28 Part 3

So here is the project that I made for this week's TTIC. Spoiler alert!!! It's a wedding invitation for Bella and Edward. I used a palette similar to that of the bouquet I posted 2 days ago. I didn't put in the brick/rust color, I used a brown instead. I kept the whole look soft, but with an edge. I achieved that with the Forever stamp I used. I used Cotton Candy Stickles to add dimension and sparkle. I of course used Distress Inks all over the entire piece. They are one of my favorite types of inks (colors: Milled Lavender, Tattered Rose, Antique Linen, Vintage Photo). The inks give a beautiful wash of color, and they blend fantastically. Of course I also used the Edward font from Twilight as well. Paper and cardstock is from Daisy D's and Prism. Stamps: Inkadinkado and Fancy Pants. Phew! I think I am finally done posting stuff for this challenge! Margie had me workin' hard this week! But it was so much fun! Visit http://www.twilighttuesday.com/ to see all of the ...

TTIC #28 Part 2: The Commentary

Margie wanted us to discuss memorable weddings/wedding moments. Well folks, here ya go! My wedding... I could literally post hundreds of photos of the most magickal day of my life (and, if anyone is really interested, ask & ye shall receive!), but I'll settle for just 2 for now. The entire wedding, ceremony, reception, etc. was pure magick and joy. We had a Medieval themed wedding (yes, all of our guests came in costume!), and our ceremony was a handfasting (that's where "to tie the knot came from!), preformed by a priestess. Everything you see that I'm wearing (sans my headpiece) was made by my amazing mom (yes, that's where I get it from). My sis Pam & I designed my dress, I picked out my flowers (all silk, of course!), and the fabric for my cape. She went to town. My husband's outfit was custom made for him. Isn't he stunning??? Moving on... Gene and I made our wedding about US. It was custom created for US. Nothing like it anywhere...
