21st Century Pillow Book

Hello! Today I am sharing a project for the 2nd half of the Aurora Wings Challenge #74 , which is Anything Goes. I decided to not create a card, but rather continue with my 6" x 6" mini album of Sprites. I have created quite a number of these pages before, but it's been a while, so this was the perfect opportunity.  I chose to work with the lovely Linnea Sprite . I used my Koi watercolors by Sakura on Canson Mixed Media Paper. I went for a very watery look on her, and I think it worked out well. I am still new to working with this palette, but I'll get better with it as I get to use it more often.  After I finished painting her, I looked through my stash of 6" x 6" papers, and came across Lemoncraft's Fresh Summer paper pack. The colors were just what I wanted. I inked the edges of my torn-edged sentiment, and I also added a few sequins from the "Pretty in Pink" Sparkle Bend. Hello! It's time for a brand-spankin' new challenge with Aurora Wings . The theme this time around is "Anything Goes," so there's no excuse to not play along! I decided to work with the delightful Lilac Sprite . I wanted to do something different when I colored the Lilac Sprite. So I opted to give her black hair and a black dress. I think she looks striking. I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens for this. Here's a close up. I loosely fussy cut her out then created my background. I have a nice big lilac bloom stamp from Stampendous , which I stamped on to lavender colored cardstock using Grape Jelly Memento Ink . I wanted to add a little something to the large blooms, so I took out my Fine Tec watercolors and added some shimmery purple watercolor to a few of the blooms. The shine it gave the background was fabulous, but not quite enough, so I also used a green sparkle marker from Spectrum Noir around the edge and for a few of the stems of the lilacs...

Hello! It's time for a new challenge with Aurora Wings. This month, we challenge you to create a black and white project, with or without a splash of color. I happen to love coloring in images in grayscale, so this was really inspiring for me. I decided to work with Mitzi's Jasmine Sprite. Hello and thanks for coming to visit me! Today I have a new project that features one of the new Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground . Hello! This week, the Stampendous Design Team is sharing Christmas projects featuring stamps from the Pink Your Life collection. I used the Whisper Friends Gift Wrapping  stamp for my card. I stamped her with VersaFine ink in Onyx Black, and colored her in with Tombow Dual Brush Markers. I used a couple of Fitted Frames to die cut the colored image, as well as a mat. The background of the card was super easy to make. I used the Fruitcake Kaleidacolor ink pad from Imagine . I simply rolled the colors on to my brayer, spritzed the brayer with some Ink Potion No. 9 , (this helps the ink to move better and to blend) and then I rolled it on to my Mixed Media White Paper from Stampendous. Once it dried, I added my colored image and mat to the layer. My card base is red, and I added a line of Imagine's Tear It! Tape to the lower portion of the card, and added my all-time favorite glitter- Multi Crystal Glitter Mix . It's gorgeous. I also added a little sentiment from the Holid...

Hello! Thanks to many of you that reached out yesterday with kind words about the loss of our cat. It is much appreciated. Today I have a card that features the Cheeky Fairy digi from The Greeting Farm. I've had her for a long time and I love using her. I colored her in September for The Daily Marker's 30 Day Coloring Challenge, so I am happy I am getting to use her now. She was colored on Mixed Media Paper with Zig Clean Color Markers. I dug out a really old foam stamp of a bat from Heidi Swapp and stamped it several times with Black Shimmer Delicata ink on my Kraft card base. Then I added droplets of Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Gold, plus irRESISTable Spray in Love Letter and Tuxedo Black. I think the fairy is afraid of those bats. Greetings! It's time for a new Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge. This week, we are sponsored by Lemon Shortbread and the challenge is to "Add a Die Cut." I used Mushroom Fary Pixie for my ATC and I colored her with my Zig Clean Color Markers. Then I had an oops. I was spraying another project with Dylusions sprays, and my overspray went on my image! So, I had to make do, so I added more color using the leftover that was on my craft sheet. I just flipped the ATC over and pressed it into the wet spray. Greetings! It's time for a new A Day for Daisies challenge, and we are sharing some previously released favorites. The challenge for the next 2 weeks is to CASE (copy and steal everything) on of the Design Team member's projects. I decided that I wanted to ply along in the challenge too, so I chose to CASE my fellow teamie's card from June. Here's my version first...  And this is Tanja 's card that I CASEd... My card features the image Fancy Dress Fairy . The backgrounds for both were done with alcohol inks. I used glossy photo paper for mine. I colored this fancy fae with Memento markers, and i added a wee bit of Stickles to her wings. I didn't have a sentiment that I wanted to use like Tanja, so I opted for some white grosgrain ribbon that I had laying around. Hello! It's my second post of the day! I have a new project featuring the A Day for Daisies July Club Kit to share with you today. The Club Kit has beautiful fairy queens and flowers, and I chose to work with Fairy Queen Primrose. I used watercolors for the fairy, and I did a loose fussy cut around her. She's so lovely. My background was done directly on my card base. Which, honestly, I don't recommend doing unless you are working on watercolor paper. I just used a pre-fabbed card base from Michaels and it got pretty warped. Why? Because I used Color Burst on it and I sprayed lots of water. After it dired, I wrestled around with it a bit to get it to lay a bit flatter. I love the effect the Color Burst in the background, but to add a little extra bit of oomph, I used 2 of the foliage stamps from Stampendous ' Fronds Perfectly Clear set in Gray Flannel Memento Ink from Imagine . Hello! The Stampendous team is excited to share the new Pink Your Life collection with you this week. Have you been checking out all of the sweet fairies, houses, and mushrooms? If you haven't, artist Nicoletta Zanella from the Pink Your Life Design Team has created these new stamps, and we are so happy to be using them! The collection is called Whisper Friends. I created a card with the cling Mushrooms stamp. I colored the mushrooms with a combination of Tombow Dual Brush markers and Imagine Crafts Memento markers. After I colored the mushrooms, I added some bugs from the Terrarium set (previously released), as well as the sign from that set. I used chalk for the sky. My background was created with Color Burst from Ken Oliver. That stuff is fun to play with! I used a couple of inks on my card base to bring out some of the colors in the Color Burst and the mushrooms. Hello! It's time to share the November Cub Kit from A Day for Daises , as well as the new challenge. The challenge is "Add Some Texture." Take a look at one of the sweet new fairies that is in the kit. I colored her up with my Chameleon Pens , which was a super fast way to get her colored. I also added a sentiment from Create with TLC. I colored in the "sparkle" from the sentiment with a Chameleon Pen also, and then added some glitter on top. For some more texture, I tore the bottom edge of my patterned paper, and I also embossed the edge of my card base with beautiful Vintage Lilac Embossing Tinsel from the Purple Encrusted Jewels Kit from Stampendous. Hellooooooo! It's time for Day 8 of the Smeared Ink 31 Days of Halloween. I've got a card for you today that goes along with the Stampendous theme this week, which is "If You've Got it Haunt it." And since its Dreamweaver Thursday, I've tied a stencil into this theme too. I took a slightly different approach to this theme. Instead of doing something witchy, I decided to "haunt" my pretty Fairy stencil a bit. Real simple...just used Glossy Black Embossing Paste. I like that it picks up the texture of the cardstock that I used, because I didn't apply a super thick layer of paste. I got my sentiment from an older Stampendous stamp that is no longer available, but it had lots of sentiments all on one stamp. I spritzed it with irRESISTables from Imagine Crafts for some glossy texture. I used some washi tape and paper scraps to finish off the card. Easy peasy! Hello! I have 2 projects to share with you today. The first is for the latest A Day for Daises and the second is for Left of Center . The ADfD team is busy featuring the September Club Kit, and our new challenge is "Frame It!" I used Fairy Lily Portrait for my card. I colored her with my Tombow watercolor markers, and I added a wee bit of glitter to her wings. Here's a closer look. I love the new gray hair trend that women are going lately, so I went with that for this lovely fairy. For my frame, I simply made 2 borders with an EK Success punch, and then a piece of coordinating green cardstock. It took a little engineering to make sure the green didn't show behind the punched areas, but still was big enough to frame the image...but I love how it turned out.
