Screwed

I’ve been MIA from Bloggyland this week because I’ve been sick with a cold. I’m REALLY looking forward to Spring time! Anywho, I thought I would share a layout I made for the Roller Derby custom album I have been commissioned to create. Of course, I used some Smeared Ink stamps on it, as Friday is my day to share SI projects with you. I used some of the screw heads from the Urban Decay collection. I didn’t cut them apart…I kept my rubber intact because I knew it would make a fab border someday! Please check out the black patterned paper. It’s filled with screws! That’s how I got the idea for the title and for using the screw head stamps. I embossed them, so they are raised and glossy. Not a super exciting post today, and I’m sorry for that. But I feel like Hell and I really need some rest. On a good note, I got some excellent feedback for the woman who commissioned me to make this album. That’s always great news! Have an inspiring day!

Her Bed/His Bed

Truth be told, I have not wanted to ignore my blog lately. And I honestly haven’t. I have been re-doing my sidebar a bit, just not putting up too many posts. I have been busy working on projects that I can’t post yet (one will be tomorrow though!!!). So, I figured I’d show you a layout I made for a custom album that I did a couple of months ago. Sorry it’s kind of a crummy photo. Here, the kids took pictures in each others bed! Apparently, they loved this! I used several fonts for the title (all American Crafts Stickers), but added a shadow in black marker to give them all a touch of similarity and to ground them. Did the sae with these rad arrows from Daisy D’s. And, I used some fun papers that look kinda wacky together, but I think absolutely work on this layout. Ok… gotta run! The kids are itching to go outside and play! Have an inspiring day!!!

TTSC #18

Hello Everyone! It’s Monday again, so it’s time for a sketch challenge from Dani! I really love this one, I hope you get inspired to make something with it too! Isn’t it really cool??? I decided to turn the sketch and make it into a layout. I have been working really hard on a custom album (you may have seen one of the layouts I made for it last week), and I thought that this sketch would be perfect for one of the pages I needed to make! I even made it in Twi-colors!!! So, let me apologize for the crummy pictures. My Cannon’s battery died and until the new one comes, I am stuck using an Olympus, which I’m not very good with! But, you can still click on a photo to see it bigger! Here’s a detail shot of the focal point. I cut the photo with my Coluzzle. But, it was too small for the photo! So thankfully, Dani’s sketch had those wonderful little circles in just the right palces… I only had to add one extra! And, I think it turned out great! I was really stumped with what to do with thi...

So Handsome!

I have been busy working on a Custom Scrapbook for one of the women that used to shop in my store before it closed. She has 2 adorable kids, and some fabulous photos. I wanted to share some of the layouts I’ve been creating for her, so here is one of my favorites. I have the Mom’s permission to show the layouts with the pictures of her children on them. How cute are these photos??? Please click on any of my pictures to see it bigger. As you can see, I was pretty inspired by the crib bumper. I love the simplicity of the flowers. The colors of the room are great, and let’s face it… this baby is a great inspiration too! I decided to mimic the look of some of the flowers by cutting out some strips of paper. I love the finished look! The patterned paper I used (Basic Grey) has a touch of the blue wall color, but not enough, so I chalked the edges of the entire page with a teal-ish mix of colors that I created. It really cooled the page down perfectly and added an extra pop of color that ...

I Love Custom Work!

I love to scrapbook. Not just my photos, but other people's photos too! And sometimes, it's fun to scrap without any photos at all! Custom work can sometimes be tough (ie: when they give me horrendous pictures, which is what often happens), but I still love to do it. I love the challenge. I had gotten an order a couple of weeks ago to do an 8.5x11 album for a Bat Mitzvah. My customer told me that she wanted in to be black, white, and hot pink. She told me to make it "WILD!" Her words. I've done some work for her in the past, so she knew my style and told me to run with the project. She stressed the "wild" part to me a few times, which made me really excited because I often have to restrain myself. Folks don't always "get" my style... but this customer, totally gets me. So, away I went! Here are a couple of layouts I made for the book. I also had the joy of painting the covers because we used an American Crafts naked D-Ring Binder (LOVE!). ...
