Sweet Bookmarks

Hello! The Imagine theme this month is "Books" so I decided to do something I love to make....bookmarks! They're fun, simple to make, totally customizable, and useful. Supplies : Imagine : Memento Markers Memento Ink Pad in Tuxedo Black Other : Sweet Stamp Shop : Book Club Xyron: Creative Station with Laminating Cartridge Stampendous : Mixed Media Paper Acrylic Stamping Block Twine/Ribbon Hole Punch Directions : 1. Begin by cutting Mixed Media Paper to your desired size bookmark. Stamp the images with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. 2. Color the stamped images with Memento Markers. I love how blendable these markers are, yet they dry pretty quickly. They're perfect for quick coloring projects of all kinds. The stamps I used are all about books, and there's a stamp in the set that allows you to write out the info about a specific book. Being the Twi-Hard that I am, I decided to make my first bookmark about Twilight. The fact that you can rate th...

Bookworm with Wicked Wednesday

Hello! It's time for a new challenge with Wicked Wednesday . This week, our ATC theme is "Bookworm," and our sponsor is Ching-Chou Kuik. You may remember her amazing artwork from Sweet Pea Stamps, but you can now get her images directly though Ching-Chou Kuik's Etsy page . I used watercolors for the image, which is actually called " Bookworm ." I added a little bit of glitter to her wings too. I tore up a page from an old book and added that behind the image, a little more glitter, and a blue base. Simple enough, so that the lovely and detailed image really took center stage. Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Wednesday team to see what they cooked up this week. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Book Dreams with A Day for Daisies

Hello! It's Friday, so I have something new from A Day for Daisies . My project today was a total blast to make. I started off with one idea, but it morphed into something that I think is a lot better. I used Book Dreams for my image. I colored up the sweet girl with my watercolor paints. I then fussy cut her out. Next, I took some watercolor paper, cut it to fit on my card base as a mat, and grabbed some of my colored sprays. I used a combination of 4 Dylusions sprays. I opened up 3 of them, and using the base of the sprayer (the straw part) to swirl some color above where the girl's head would eventually be. Then I spritzed the yellow spray, and a little water after that. I thought it needed a bit of sparkle, so I used some clear embossing powder and crystal glitter from Stampendous . I love how it turned out! I painted a bit around the edge of my card base for some added color. This is my way of showing what happens to children when they read. This is certainly ...

Out-Rhage-ous!

It’s Fandom Friday over at Twilight Tuesday , and this week I am super excited about that! Why? Because not only are we once again focusing on my favorite Vampire book series (I wish I could see your look of shock!) the Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward . Have no fear… The Twilight Saga is a close second! But what makes this BDB challenge even better is that we are focusing on my favorite Brother…Rhage! He’s amazing. Totally. But, before I go on and on, let me have Beth tell you about this challenge: I know I really shouldn't keep repeating myself, but it bears repeating... Thank Goodness It's FRIDAY! That means we are in for another edition of FANDOM Friday! This week is the second Black Dagger Brotherhood challenge, and we are focusing on the second book, Lover Eternal. If the first BDB Challenge didn't get you to read the books - this one might do the trick! One thing you will learn from the devoted fans of the brotherhood, is that these books ROCK! Back to the challen...

TTIC #44: It’s BOOKS That Brought us Together!

Hello again and welcome to another awesome Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge! This week our challenge was created by Rebecca, and she honed in on a topic that goes way beyond Twilight! She writes: Reading the Twilight saga books is what brought us all together …. so this week is really dedicated to books. I hadn’t stayed up all night reading anything in a very long time, yet that was exactly what I did with the books – I couldn’t put them down! Many of you have shared similar stories with me on that topic. Each of the books have their own sub-theme throughout the series. Wuthering Heights is discussed many times in Eclipse, in fact – bookstores have been reporting that their sales of Wuthering Heights were through the roof after Eclipse came out. Each book in the series was inspired by and loosely based on a different literary classic: Twilight on Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice , New Moon on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet , Eclipse on Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights , ...
