Shrinky Dink Star Earrings

Hello! I have a fun and simple project to share with you today, and I hope it will inspire you to look at your stamps in a new way. I am a jewelry maker through and through. I went to college for it, and I've been making jewelry since I was probably about 4 years old. There is often not enough time for me to make any, and I feel a loss inside when it's been too long. Does that happen to you? Anyway, I decided to "feed the beast" so to speak with this quick pair of earrings that I made for my daughter. The White Rose Crafts DT is focusing on "feminine" projects this month, so that was my starting point. Do you recognize those stars? They are from Lawn Fawn's Simply Celebrate stamp set. I stamped the image on to shrink plastic with StazOn ink and colored them with Sharpie markers. Nothing fancy, each star only uses a single marker color. Then I fussy cut them out (there are coordinating dies , but I don't have them), and punched a hole in the red ...

Pumpkin Pie with Stampendous!

Hello again! Do you like pumpkin pie? I sure do! It's one of my favorite pies, actually. I am really excited that it's pumpkin season here in NY.  The rest of the Stampendous Design Team is pretty excited too. That's why our theme this week is "Pumpkin Pie." We will be featuring all sorts of pumpkins (and there are a lot!) in our projects this week. Today, I am sharing a cute necklace I made. This is a great necklace for a child. Although, let's be real...I'd wear it too! I used the Cling Create Fall stamp set and the coordinating Die set to create my pumpkin. I stamped him with Staz-On on to a piece of white shrink plastic. I had experimented with clear first, but after I had made my glittery background, he was too tough to see, so I redid him with the white. I colored the pumpkin (before shrinking) with Sharpies. I punched a hole in the top, and shrunk him down with my heat gun. For the glittery goodness in the background, I applied some glue t...

Left of Center with Dilly Beans

Hello! Did you know that I am now a part of Left of Center Creative Challenges ? I am! And I am stoked about it. This group focuses on dark-themed challenges, which is so up my alley. This challenge theme is Anything Goes, as long as it's dark/creepy/fantasy, etc. And, we are sponsored by Dilly Beans , which is another DT I am on. I used Dracula's Lollipop for this card. I colored the image with watercolor markers as well as alcohol markers. Yeesh. I don't know what happened to the color on this photo but he looks reeeeally yellow! Not the case in real life! Anywho, my little teeth in the lower right corner were made with a stamp from Inkadinkado and Shrinky Dinks. I thought they were perfect. Ahhhh....the color is good here. I kept the card clean and simple. I hope you like it! Please be sure to visit the rest of the "B" Team for LOC HERE . Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

I'm on the Dream Team!!!

Hello! I can finally tell you!!! I am now officially a part of the Dreamweaver Stencils Dream Team!!! I am beyond thrilled! I have wanted to be a part of this amazing team for quite some time, and I am so honored that I am now. This month, the challenge theme is April Inspirations. So you've got to find something that inspires you to make a project. Easy...especially if you are as obsessed with Pinterest as I am. Here's my inspiration photo. Isn't this beautiful? You can check out the Etsy shop this photo came from HERE . Here's my project. I used the gorgeous Butterfly stencil to make a Shrinky Dink charm. Let me show you the stencil size with the finished pendant. I started by using a pre-sanded Shrinky Dink sheet, and I traced the entire butterfly with a skinny Sharpie Marker. It kind of ruined the tip of my marker, so I recommend trying a marker that has a metal tip. But do a test first to be sure it will work on the shrunken Shrinky Dinks. Then I...

Hammock Day with Bombshell Stamps

Hello! I have a fun holiday to share with you today. National Hammock Day! Here's a description via Holiday Insights .  " Summer is in full swing. It's time to slow down and to relax. During the Dog Days of summer (and all of the other summer days, too), there is no better place to slow down and relax, than on a hammock.Hammock Day is appropriately celebrated right in the middle of the Dog Days of summer (July 3 though August 11th.Hammock Day exists to enjoy summer as it should be enjoyed. People celebrate Hammock Day by spending as much time relaxing on it as possible. Getting out of your hammock to get a snack, or your favorite summer beverage is okay. But, it is not a day for work. Cutting the lawn is forbidden on this day." I decided to make a necklace using the lovely focal image from Rise and Shine , and Shrinky Dinks.  I colored her with colored pencils. This is actually version #2. The first one had the full background and banner. I knew the glossy sid...

Ms. July's Challenge: Red, White, and Blue!

Greetings, cyber friends! I am excited to share Ms. July's Challenge for Bombshell Stamps . Michelle's challenge to us is Red, White, and Blue! Perfect since Independence Day (here in the USA) is tomorrow. I decided to create a fun pair of earrings using the Ahoy Sailor set. I've got to be honest. When I first got this set, I wasn't sure how often I would use it. I'm not really into the nautical thing. But I LOVE this set! If you frequent my blog, you will have seen that I have used it quite a bit since I have received it. It's a lot of fun to work with. Don't be afraid to give it a try! Here's me wearing the earrings, just so that you can see the scale of them. They are definitely shoulder dusters! But that's ok...I love long earrings. I made my little charms using white Shrinky Dink paper. I stamped the images using Memento ink, and colored them with Spectrum Noir and 1 Copic marker. I really need to get the "Reds" set of Spectr...
