Sunscreen Protection Day: Bombshell Wacky Holidays

Greetings! At Bombshell Stamps, we like to enjoy the sillier side of things from time to time. Which is why we started celebrating wacky holidays. I get all of my info from Holiday Insights . And boy, do they have a lot of information when it come to out of the ordinary celebrations. This month, e are celebrating Sunscreen Protection Day. Because really, those bombshells need to keep their skin looking beautiful! Here's what I learned about the day. Sunscreen Protection Day is always celebrated on May 27th, but since we have Muse Monday tomorrow, we decided to get the festivities underway a day early. The day is said to bring awareness about how important it is to protect you and your loved one's skin from the harmful rays of the sun. This is even important on cloudy days. So always use SPF 15 or more, people! I used several Bombshell Stamps sets for this card. I used Hula Girl , and new to me,  Hawaiian Girl  and Tiki Party . Please take note of the fact that my g...

February Hump Day Hop: Some Like it HOT!

Greetings! It's the last Wednesday of the month, so it's time for the Bombshell Stamp Hump Day Hop! This month, I decided that the theme would be "Some Like it HOT!" I cannot wait to see how the other participants interpreted this theme. I chose to make an art journal page. I started off with my Pirate's Life Bombshell, and I added a few of the images from the Holiday Accessory set. I thought that my cauldron needed some smoke, so I used the flame from the Hula Girl set. I colored my images with my Spectrum Noirs and Copics. I cut everything out, and then started to play with my background. I used a combination of inks, paints, and stencils.  I also decided to add "Drink Up" from the Man's Ruin set. I loved doing the background. Though I do think it may need a few more layers....I need to work on that a bit. Pushing those layers further. But, I still think my Bombshell is hot! And, who doesn't enjoy a hot beverage? And now, it...

Bring the Heat: S&S Hop

Hello again! It’s time for a Smeared & Smudged Blog Hop! The theme is “Bring the Heat.” “This is totally up to interpretation....some ideas would be using heat embossing, hot glue or fire. Or even using imagery of fire, heat, or even something SEXY! Step outside your comfort zones - the HOTTER the better!!! It can be a canvas, a card, a scrapbook page, an altered item, an art journal page, etc. Use your imaginations. Also, don't forget the S&S rule that is has to be stamped somewhere (digi stamps are fine).” I teamed up with my Bombshell Stamps Babes, and used several sets for my “hot” creation. I started off using Harley Bikes , knowing that I wanted to use the flame from the Hula Girl set on the tank of the bike. I stamped the bike, then the flame- in 2 colors, and I embossed the flame so that it would really show…especially after I colored the rest of the tank in. Then I went for a stamp I hadn’t used before…the devil from the Cherry Bomb set. I stamped him ...

June Hump Day Hop: 3 Cheers for Summer!

Hello, friends! It's the last Wednesday of the month, which means it's time for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month's theme is 3 Cheers for Summer. This means that the project needs to be Summer themed, and has either the number 3 on it, or 3 of something. Here's what I made. I worked with the beautiful Hula Gir l. I colored the girls all the same, except for their hair. Can't you feel the warm breeze and hear the Hawaiian music playing? I used watercolor markers and Copics to color in the images. I also used the banner from one of the smaller (but just as cool) images from the Hula Girl set. This month's Hump Day Hop is 14 fabulous participants! I am so happy to see so many folks spreading the Bombshell love. Please be sure to stop by everyone's blog. Below is the full hop list. Thank you for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!!! New DICC and "Lei Day"

Hello! Today I am sharing the latest DICC challenge with you, a day late, but hopefully not a buck short! Our newest Design Team member, Trudie , came up with the latest itinerary. 1. Shaped Card (no squares or rectangles) 2- Die cut shapes 3- Punched shapes 4- Bright colours  5- Twine 6- Buttons 7- 2 images 8- One word sentiment 9- Tree 10- Clouds For my card, I used item #'s 4, 7, 8, 9, and 10. This card also works for the latest Raise the Bar challenge, Lei Day.   I worked with Bombshell Stamps ' Hula Girl for this card. I used a number of elements from this set on the card. I colored the items up with ink, Distress Inks, watercolor markers, and Copics.  I love this set  because  of the little scenes that you can create. And let's face it, that Hula Girl is super cool! Or rather, hot.  I used a mess of foam dots to give the card some dimension. You can see some of the foam peeking out from behind some o...

Bombshell Hump Day Hop & Jude and the Rockers Preview Day 4!

It's a big day today! Not only is it Bombshell's Hump Day Hop (which is now one of my favorite days of the month!), but it is day 4 of Simply Betty Stamps Jude and the Rockers preview! You are in for a big treat with both stamp companies, so I really hope you'll visit all parties involved! Let's start with the hop. For this month's Bombshell Stamps hop, I decided to go with a theme that is close to my heart. Pirates. Here's the challenge: Aaaarrrggg!!!! In honor of the latest Pirates of the Caribbean flick, and the start of Summer (cruises and such...work with me here, folks) I decided what better theme than pirates! More like the phrase "Shiver me timbers!" Now, I am thinking pirates...but what do YOU think of when you hear that phrase? I used my beloved pirate from Pirate's Life , plus some of the smaller (yet still awesome!) stamps from the Hula Girl set. I love creating backgrounds with those little stamps. I was inspired by my June Sk...

June Bombshell Stamps Sketch

Hello! So nice of you to come for a visit! Today I am sharing June’s Bombshell Stamps Sketch with you. Kathi , once again created a wonderful sketch for us to work with, and hopefully you will play along with the Bombshell gals for your chance to win a prize at the end of the month! Here’s the sketch: I chose to work with the Hula Girl set. I created a card for my husband’s former boss who recently retired. Don’t you wish you were there? I sure do! I colored everything up with my watercolor markers, being sure to give my hula girl a pretty sun kissed glow. I am so loving this set. The volcano, the beautiful hibiscus…even the images not used on this card. I highly recommend this fun set! Speaking of hibiscus…that’s my favorite part of the card. I adore hibiscus flowers. But there’s one in particular. Now bear with me…I’ll try to make it brief. I worked at a nursery for many years (that’s where I met my husband!). I love flowers and gardening, so when we got new plants in I wa...

Explore…With a Hula Girl!

I wanted to play along with an Embellish Magazine challenge. My very first. Kathi brought it to the Bombshell’s attention, and I really wanted to play along. The challenge is to make a masculine card using a specific color combo. And what do you know…I actually had the paper they showed! I just received Bombshell Stamps’ Hula Girl in the mail yesterday. I was really hoping I’d get her before I missed the deadline for this challenge. She came just at the nick of time! I colored Hula Girl and the hibiscus using pencils and watercolor markers. The Explore and world image are from Technique Tuesday. This was a fun challenge! I loved the color combination. And what guy wouldn’t want to do some exploring with her??? Well, hopefully my husband… but I know he likes the card! Thanks for stopping by!
