Extra Week that's to Die For!

Hello! We have a 5th Thursday this month so the entire Dream Team from Dreamweaver Stencils is posting this week. We are sure to have plenty of projects you will love. The challenge all month has been to use any of our fabulous Dies. We have many great options to suit many styles, and there are frequently new styles becoming available. I decided to go with a simple design this week, so as to not intimidate any Dreamweaver newbies. I went with the adorable Pear dies . Have you ever tasted a red pear? They are unbelievably sweet. They are definitely my favorite type of pears, so I decided to make my pears red. They tend to get these dark brown spots on them, which is why I went with the paper I did for them. I used a little Peeled Paint Distress Ink to create a shadow on the leaves. I applied the ink with a cosmetic sponge. I also added a few white highlight lines on the pears, and a brown shadow line on the left of the pears. This all just adds a little more dimension and inter...

Stars, Stripes, Sea Life & Dragon Scales

Hello again! It's Wednesday, so that means there's a lot going on i my little corner of Bloggy Land. I've got a new A Step in the Dark project, one for Wicked Wednesday , and of course, since it's the last Wednesday of the month, the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop. The new A Step in the Dark challenge is sponsored by Smeared Ink, and the challenge is Anything Goes. I used the beautiful Tiamat from the Women of Power set. I had so much fun with her. And not just because she's topless. ;) I colored Tiamat with my Spectrum Noir markers. My background was made with the Scales stencil from Dreamweaver . The "Praise" is from The Symbology of Angels . She is so powerful looking..... Now. For Wicked Wednesday, we are sponsored by Aurora Wings , and the challenge is Mythical Sea Creatures. This beautiful image was also colored with Spectrum Noir markers, in my 2 favorite colors...teal and purple. I used 2 different colors of Stickles and Li...

Christmas in July with Aurora Wings

Hello! Today I am sharing a 6x6 mini page with you, and i am really excited about it. Aurora Wings issued a Christmas in July challenge, and I really wanted to play. But I didn't want to use a traditional Christmas image (if you follow my blog, you probably know that that isn't really my style). So I went with Masquerade Owl Mask. This image is so beautiful. Stunning, isn't she? Mitzi draws such incredible images. I colored her with a combination of watercolor markers and alcohol markers. You can click on any of my photos to see them bigger. I also added some Liquid Pearls and Tiara Stickles for some dimension and sparkle. I went heavy with the shadows to give the image some more drama. I hope you can see the bit of sparkle here. It's so hard to capture glitter in pictures! For my background, I went with the beautiful Damask Stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils and I embossed with with their Pearlescent Embossing Paste . It worked so well with the Liquid ...

A Halloween Layout to "Die" For

Greetings! I have a new Dreamweaver Stencils project to show you. This month, out theme is "To Die For," because of the fabulous collection of dies that Dreamweaver has to offer (and that collection keeps expanding!). I decided to go a bit more literal this week, and create a Halloween scrapbook page. My daughter wanted to be a witch last year, and I have a fun witchy skirt that I made that I wear every October. So, we got all decked out and took some pictures. As far as the die that I used....I went with the BIG and beautiful Leafless Tree , and just used it as a background design. The trees cut so easily and beautifully. I love using the new dies. I highlighted the trees (with the recommendation from my daughter) to add some silver glitter for some more visual interest. I think she was right. And of course, I have a ton of wonderful stencils, so I needed to pull out a coupe for this page. I started off with one of my absolute favorites, Houndstooth , and adde...

Cute as a Button with Wicked Wednesday

Hello! Today I have a new Wicked Wednesday project for you. We are sponsored by Heather Ellis  and the theme is "Cute as a Button." She's adorable! I colored her with Spectrum Noir markers, and my background was done with my Houndstooth Stencil by Dreamweaver . The background paper is super glittery, so it really pops. Quickie post for the day.....I'm off to go play with my little girl! She's cute a s a button too. Please visit the Wicked Wednesday blog ! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

3 ATC's

Hello out there! Today, I have 3 ATC's to bring you. One for the latest Wicked Wednesday , one for the new A Step in the Dark challenge, and one for Bombshell Stamps . For Wicked Wednesday, we are sponsored by A Day for Daisies , and the challenge is "On the Farm." I used the image Birds for Bree. I think she makes a very cute farmer girl! I used alcohol inks for the image, and watercolors for the background. Now, on to ASitD. The challenge is Anything Goes/Use Some Metal. We are sponsored by the creep-tastic Ike's Art . I used Witchy, becuase let's face it...I can never have too many witch digis. I colored her with my watercolor markers, and used a sentiment stamp that I had on hand. Then, I sprayed Imagine Crafts' irRESISTables on top of the image for that bubbled texture. Love that stuff! You can really see the texture of the spray here. I used staples for my "metal" aspect of the challenge. For Bombshell, this ATC was made...

Summer Lovin' with Dilly Beans

Hello! Today I have an ATC I made for the latest Dilly Beans challenge that was introduced last Friday. The theme is Summer Lovin'. I colored this pretty flower using alcohol markers, and the blue background was chalked. One of my favorite things about Summer is the beautiful array of flowers that are everywhere. Have you played along with us for this challenge? Come on over to the Dilly Beans blog to do so! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

I've Been Die-ing to Share......

Greetings! Welcome to July...the month to DIE for! Yep. All of this month, the Dream Team are featuring our newest toys...our DIES! You'd be surprised at how many we have, and what fun things you can do with them...especially when used in conjunction with many of their stencil counterparts. They are such a simple way to create an effective card. Here's mine for this week: I am really in love with the new Tree Line Die . If you have been checking out the Dream it Up! Blog this week, then you will have been seeing some really outstanding projects by Lynell using this very die. I decided to go a different route from Lynell, and use an altered version of the Double Glitter technique on the die cut image itself, instead of the background.  Here's what I did. 1. Adhered Double Stick Mounting Paper to a piece of black cardstock, slightly larger than the die. 2. Ran the die and paper through my Big Shot machine. 3. Peeled off just the top of the paper from the Double S...

Cloudy Days with Wicked Wednesday

My fellow Bloggers! Welcome back! It's Wednesday, so I have a new Wicked Wednesday challenge for you. This week, the theme is "Clouds/Cloudy Days." We are sponsored by Oddball Art this week. I colored my cloud to be puking up a rainbow. The idea was my little sister's, and I thought it was a good one. My background clouds were made with my Picasso Tool from Dreamweaver Stencils . My sentiment (which got a little botched) says "Blah." I don't think this little cloud is too excited about throwing up his rainbow. Would you like to see more? Then please check out the rest of the Wicked Wednesday team here on the Blog . Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Bombshell Hawaiian Girl Muse Monday

Greetings! It's the 1st Monday of the month, so I have a new Muse Monday set from Bombshell Stamps that I am going to share. This month, I decided to go with Hawaiian Girl . I decided to use some of the smaller images to make a tag. I started off with stamping and embossing the images. Then I went and played around with some Distress Inks and my Scales  stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils . After that, I decided to experiment. I pulled out my Translucent Embossing Paste , and applied it right on top of the entire tag using a palette knife. I texturized the heck out of it, so that it would look like water. After it dried (it starts off milky white), it looks like this! Just the effect I wanted. This Translucent Paste is fun! And so is the Hawaiian Girl set from Bombshell. It's on sale this month, so if you don't have it yet, go on and grab it! Please be sure to visit the Bombshell Blog each Monday for lots of fun projects featuring this set. Thanks for stopping b...

New STitD and WW! Don'tcha Love Acronyms?

Greetings! Welcome to a jam packed Wednesday. I've got some new challenges to share with you, and I hope you are excited to check them out. My first is for A Step in the Dark . We are sponsored by Aurora Wings , which is a company I have fallen head over heels for. I used Owl Masquerade for my 6x6 mini page. Is that a stunning image or what? I loved coloring it. I used alcohol markers and colored pencils. Plus a bit of Stickles and Liquid Pearls. I also broke out my Scales stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils . Applied Pumice Stone Distress Ink using a stencil brush. Then I applied the Amsterdam Flourish with Pearlescent Embossing Paste. I'll be submitting this piece into the new Haunted Design House challenge. I was very inspired by the photos they posted, so I give you my version of that. Moving on, I now give you the newest Wicked Wednesday challenge. This week, we are sponsored by Octopode Factory, and the theme is to "Use an Uplifting Sentiment....
