I'm a Guest at Dreamweaver Stencils!

Hello hello! I am SO excited! I am a Guest Designer for the month of April over at Dreamweaver Stencils' Dream it Up! blog. I am thrilled and honored to be a guest for such a wonderful company. I will have a new post each Thursday in April to share with you. Would you like to know the challenge? It's Mists, Drizzles, and Rain...just perfect for April! Here's what I made for Week 1.

I made an art journal page. Can you figure out what my page is about? My favorite move, The Crow! Have you seen it? It's a gothic romance....and I l-o-v-e it! So. Allow me to explain my choices to you. The crow...pretty obvious, right? But! He's on a weather vane, which is very significant to the end of the movie. ***Spoiler Alert!*** Eric Draven (the lead role) kills Top Dollar (Head Bad Guy) with a broken weather vane at the end of the movie. My sentiment is a line that is repeated throughout the movie. I won't get into more detail about it...you'll just have to go and see it for yourself! :)

Now, about how I made the page. I started off by using the Rain stencil with my Crayola (yes, Crayola) airbrush. I used a number of different colors to get a cool variegation. Then I took Dreamweavers' Black Embossing Paste and applied it to the Raven stencil. I then applied some Metallic F/X to just the weather vane.

I misted a blue Memory Mist to the background of my page. Then, Pumice Stone Distress Ink to the foreground. I also used just the tip of the Butterfly in conjunction with some more of the Metallic F/X I used on the weather vane. Last, I stamped my quote using an alpha stamp set from Inkadinkado.

Would you like to see more? Then please be sure to visit the Dream it Up! DT. Here are all of their links.

And please be sure to visit the Stencil with Style site to see all of what Dreamweavers has to offer. Again, I am so excited to be a GDT for the month, and I do hope you will visit me again to see what I come up with for next week. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
