A Tri-fecta of Cards

Happy Friday! Today, I have 3 cards to share with you. Two of them are for the new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge, and the other is for the new Dilly Beans Challenge. Let's begin with DICC. I am happy to announce that Smeared Ink is our sponsor for the week, and you could win their awesome Heart Wings digi set! I've used a few images from that set in my cards.
Here's the Itinerary that I came up with for this latest challenge.

1. Heart(s)
2. Wings
3. Glitter
4. Doilie
5. Loving Sentiment
6. At Least 3 Patterned Papers
7. Smeared Ink Stamps
8. Lots of Texture
9. Metal Accents
10. Distressing

I made this card for Phoenix for Valentine's Day. I used #'s 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, and 10. The Heart Wings set is really a blast to play with.

I hope you can see the glitter on the wings. I also popped up the image with foam.

He loved his card! The next one I made was for Rhiannon. I used the same numbers off of the itinerary.

Lots of hearts on her card! My girl does love hearts!

Here you can really see the glitter on the wings.

This week over at Dilly Beans, we needed to create something with Red and Black.

I love these little penguins! I thought they would look really "cool" in just these colors.

I love red, black and white together, o this was a fun challenge too!

I hope you will play along with both of these challenges. And please be sure to visit both of the challenge blogs to see what the rest of the DT's have come up with. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off ...

"Dream-Pendous" Collaboration!

Greetings! This is going to be such an exciting week for Dreamweaver Stencil s fans and Stampendous Stamps fans alike. It's going to be a "Dream-Pendous" week of inspiration! The Dreamweaver and Stampendous teams are collaborating once again with all the fun toys in each team's arsenals. Of course, as usual, there will be prizes given out for those who comment throughout the week. In fact, there will be 3 prize packs available! Each will have a great selection of Dreamweaver Stencils and Stampedous dies and images. One being the new "Blossom Beauty" face image as shown in the badge in my sidebar. I am beyond excited to share my project with you. I made an art journal page, with a....rather altered...version of the fantastic Blossom Beauty image. Can you tel that I had soooooo much fun with her?!? It was a blast to rework her beautiful face and turn half of her into a sugar skull. The flowers are really what inspired me to do it. They are so big and be...
