Santa Claws

Hello! I hope my US friends had a joyful Thanksgiving, and for those overseas, a lovely week! I was quite inspired by this week’s Macabre Monday, as usual…and I came up with an idea that I thought was pretty damn funny!

Santa-Claws-1

As soon as I saw the challenge, I knew what I wanted to do. So I quickly printed out Freddy, one of Strange Skin’s freakin’ amazing images. Then he sat there for a couple of days… Hey! I was sick! Anywho…I finally got to color him in, and I removed his hat and the souls that are usually flying around him…just go to Strange Skin to see what I mean! I made his sweater have a real holiday feel by using traditional red and green, added some sprigs of holly, and of course, that ridiculous foam Santa Hat that I jacked from my kids (Just kidding. I asked them politely first if I could have it. No. Really!)

Santa-Claws-2

Isn’t he festive??? Then of course, I needed to add those fabulous “claw” marks from Smeared Ink, plus some wonderful smudges of Fired Brick Distress Ink.

Santa-Claws-3

I wrote “Santa Claws” all scratchy-like and, as per my sister Pam’s suggestion, I added some Gold Stickles to the letters for some extra holiday cheer. I thought about adding some to my 3 layers of drippy blood at the top, but I thought that was…well…overkill.

I hope I gave you a good laugh with my card! Now I just need to figure out which unsuspecting friend will receive it! If you ask me nice enough…it could be you!!! Now, sing it with me…”1, 2, Freddy’s coming for you…..”

Mediterranean Dreams Shaker

Hello! Today I have a card that features the Mediterranean Dreams Subscription Kit from White Rose Crafts.  This fabulous Subscription Kit brings together sparkling, azure Mediterranean seas, sun-bleached shores and the rich colors of vibrant Mediterranean cultures in a carefully curated kit. I knew I just had to try the Jillibean Soup shaker card and I chose to use one of the stamps (from Kaisercraft) to make my background. I stamped the seashell with Tea Dye Distress Oxide all over the background of the card. Then I applied some Walnut Stain Distress Oxide to my craft mat, spritzed it with some water, and splattered it on to my card base. Last, I inked the edges with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide with a Mini Blending Brush. For my sentiment, I die cut a stitched rectangle from my stash, out of the pearly yellow cardstock that came in the kit and stamped it with "Wish You Were Here" stamp from the same "Summer Splash" stamp set, with StazOn Pigment ink. And ...

***Sorry for the late posting....Blogger doesn't always play nice! Today is the first day of our  ADFD Blog Hop  - a celebration of all of the beautiful images Tammy has created over the years. Echo Park Blog Hop with Imagine

Greetings! This is my second post for the day. This one is not part of the 31 Days of Halloween, but rather a super-duper blog hop that the Artists in Residence for Imagine are doing with Echo Park . So if you're here for my Day 7 project, please check out the post HERE . But before you do that, scroll on to check out this one. There are prizes up for grabs, so be sure to check out the Imagine Blog as well as the Echo Park Blogs for details. I created my background by applying Dandelion and Tangelo Memento Ink to my brayer. Then I sprayed it with Ink Potion No. 9 to help the colors blend and to act as an extender to keep the inks wet longer. After I rolled the colors out on to watercolor paper and let it dry, I stamped the lovely doily-like image from Echo Park's Simply Sweet Stamp Set with Grape Jelly Memento. I also received the super pretty Heart Doily Designer Die  which I used with a true purple cardstock. But it needed something....and in rolls the super fabul...
