StampInsanity Challenge #3 and Smeared and Smudged Blog Hop

Woah, what a title! There’s a lot going on today, and that title proves it! Not only am I sharing a brand new image from StampInsanity with you, but I am also a part of the huge Blog Hop over at Smeared and Smudged! Meet Lita!

Lita-Pop-Up

She is from Beth’s newest collection, that has been released today! We needed to use Lita and/or Roder (her rocker buddy) in this challenge along with pulling inspiration from the Hot Topic T-shirt below.

Mad

Now, I’ll admit, I had Lita colored in way before I knew what the challenge was. I couldn’t help it! She was too cool to let sit there uncolored! So, I just tied the card itself into the shirt.

Obviously, the rad ribbon I used works directly back to the shirt. And I used my brand spankin’ new D’vine Swirls embossing folder (which I have wanted for, like, ever!) along with Core’dinations Black Magic cardstock. The under color is blue… but it’s a bit tough to see unfortunately.

Lita-Pop-Up2

Seriously. She is so damn cool!

So, for the Smeared and Smudged Blog Hop, we were to create something with a ‘Surprise” since it’s April Fool’s Day. So what’s my surprise? Well, ya gotta open up the card!

Lita-Pop-Up-Inside

I made my first pop-up card! Nothing too special or complicated, but it’s a pop-up nonetheless. Here’s a different angle.

The sentiment is also part of the new Lita and Roder collection. Remember, you can only purchase StampInsanity stamps from Stamp Happens! I love the font!!! I used more black and white paper to harken a bit back to the inspiration shirt. Plus added some teal to the edges as a reminder of the turquoise on the shirt. So yeah. It’s not as obvious a draw from the shirt, but like I said, I just HAD to use this Lita!

I’m lovin’ how this card came out! I love the textures and the different patterns. And I am really happy with the pop up!

Of course, the rest of the Groovy Gurlz have some fantabulous other projects to share with you, but so I don’t confuse you with the other Hoppers, please refer to my sidebar to check out the rest of the StampInsanity Gurlz! Now here is the full roster of S&S Hoppers. Start wherever you like, but please try to stop by everyone’s blog! We all worked really hard and would love for you to show us all some love!

I know I'm late on the blog hop, but we had a wedding to go to on Thursday and the weekends are always a bit busy for me, so I didn't get to it 'til today!
I LOVE this card! But, lol, I always want the rubber stamps that people use, there are some beauties out there and I have to keep reminding myself that I'm just RUBBISH at rubber stamping and should really stick to digis :D

Echo Park Blog Hop with Imagine

Greetings! This is my second post for the day. This one is not part of the 31 Days of Halloween, but rather a super-duper blog hop that the Artists in Residence for Imagine are doing with Echo Park . So if you're here for my Day 7 project, please check out the post HERE . But before you do that, scroll on to check out this one. There are prizes up for grabs, so be sure to check out the Imagine Blog as well as the Echo Park Blogs for details. I created my background by applying Dandelion and Tangelo Memento Ink to my brayer. Then I sprayed it with Ink Potion No. 9 to help the colors blend and to act as an extender to keep the inks wet longer. After I rolled the colors out on to watercolor paper and let it dry, I stamped the lovely doily-like image from Echo Park's Simply Sweet Stamp Set with Grape Jelly Memento. I also received the super pretty Heart Doily Designer Die  which I used with a true purple cardstock. But it needed something....and in rolls the super fabul...
