Merry Christmas with Circle Dies

Look Ma, no stamps! That's right! I didn't use a single stamp on today's card. That doesn't happen too often. This week, the Stampendous team is sharing creations that are "To Die For," that is, projects that use some of their wonderful dies. My card today is easy to create, and you have the ability to get a lot of cards out of it once you're done die cutting. You can check out my full instructions below. Supplies: Stampendous : CSD21 : Christmas Bright DCP1007 : Build A Wreath Die Set MPW811 : Mixed Media White Cardstock Other : My Colors Cardstock: Classic Cherry, Spanish Moss, Desert Cactus, Brown Eyes Neenah: Desert Storm Cardstock Scrapbook Adhesives: EZ Runner Washi Tape (will not show) Ranger: Walnut Stain Distress Ink Directions: 1. This Trio is Better Together

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Beth Duff Designs Summer Release Hop! If you've been on my blog this week, you've seen that I had 2 cards that featured the Better Together stamp set. I am so loving this set. The food is so cute, and I really like the sentiments. Well today, I have a third card using that set. This card makes me think of summer on the boardwalk. Coney Island definitely comes to mind. Pretty sure I've had this as a meal there before. I colored the food and drink using my Zig Clean Color Markers. I fussy cut them out, and then used foam adhesive on the back. I gave the drink two layers of foam to pop him up even higher. My background was done pretty easily, thanks to my Tim Holtz stamp platform. You can of course use another type of platform, or even just an acrylic block to do the repeated sentiment, but it is much easier in a stamping tool. I used various colors of Color Box chalk ink. I chose colors that coordinated with the marker colors I used ...

Winter Blizzard

Greetings! Today I am sharing a card using the new Winter Blizzard 6" x 6" stamp from Stampendous, along with a couple of their new word dies. This stamp is unique not only because of it's size, but because it has a large snowflake that you can pop out and use on it's own, or as I did here, by using the rest of the stamp to leave room for a sentiment. Here is a look at the full stamp. Let's dive in to how this card was made. I sprinkled a bit of Turquoise Brusho Color Crystals on to my white cardstock. I then spritzed the cardstock with water and watched the color appear! I swirled the cardstock around a bit and then started to heat set it with my heat gun. I would stop and start the heat gun continually, so that I would get some darker edges here and there where the colored water would pool. Any areas that had too much water I would pick up with a paper towel. Once the background was dry, I stamped the Winter Blizzard stamp with VersaFine Clair ink in...

I Want Pizza. But First, Coffee

Hello! I'm back with not only a new shaker card featuring another fabulous Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground , but the card also has new stamps from Beth Duff Designs . Did you check out my post yesterday? You'll see my first card featuring the "Better Together" set. My card today uses the adorable pizza image and coordinating sentiment. I thought this was perfect to use with the " But First, Coffee " Sparkle Blend. Check out the beautiful chocolate browns of this particular Sparkle Blend, along with some lovely iridescence. I thought it mimicked toppings on a pizza nicely. I used a leftover die cut from Lawn Fawn to make the shaker, and it was the perfect size. This die is from the Magic Color Slider set. My background was done with the Small Cathedral Windows stencil and VersaColor ink in White. I also spritzed on Tuxedo Black and Desert Sand Fireworks! Spray , and I finished off the edge of the card base with Champagne Delicata ink. ...

Better Together: Burger and Fries

Hello! Today I have the pleasure of sharing one of the new Summer 2018 release stamp sets from Beth Duff Designs . This set is called "Better Together" and it is a great little set of adorable food! When I first got the stamp set, I decided to color all of the images first, and then break them up into separate cards. Take a look. Aren't they so cute?! So, on looking at the finished images, I knew I really wanted the burger with the fries. Something I really like to do is to make a background with small stamps. These guys aren't exactly tiny, but I knew they would work. So I stamped a bunch of the burger and fries on some white cardstock, using London Fog Memento ink from Imagine . I made sure to place my main foods in the middle and to stamp around them. Then I popped up my focal food with foam tape. That bun sure looks toasty! After that, I took a piece of gray cardstock, flipped to the back so that I would be working on the non-textured side, and I stam...

Intergalactic Hi

Greetings everyone! Today I have a new shaker card featuring the Intergalactic Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground . In my never-ending attempt to make shaker cards in different ways, this time I used letter dies from Quik Kutz. Are they even a company any more? Anyway, I had this cool, outer-space looking alcohol ink background that I had made a while back on glossy photo paper, and I thought it would go really well with the Intergalactic Sparkle Blend. This blend has lots of stars and bold, bright colors plus black and silver. It is a gorgeous mix of shapes and sizes and it's become a favorite of mine. I tried to highlight the letters a bit with a white Molotow pen, but the nib on the pen is shot, so it was't working right. I scraped away some of the white but I couldn't get it all up. The jury is still out on whether or not I like the white the way it is. I probably should have just left it alone. But look at those pretty sparklies!!! I felt as though...

Llama Curio

Hello hello! Today I am sharing a card I made with one of the newest Stampendous Curio stamps, the Llama . He is a fresh take on a llama that had come out previously, and this time, as I mentioned, he's a Curio stamp. That means that he's a wooden  wooden sculptures ideal for decorating your crafting area or giving to crafty friends. On the back of each, you'll find a matching rubber stamp in the finest gray rubber, closely trimmed, with a foam cushion. Check out my card with the Curio stamp beside it. You can see that the stamp is nice and big, so it's a perfect focal point for your creation. Here's a shot of just the card. I wanted to go with a wintry feel for this card, so I stuck with aquas, teals, and greens for coloring the llama's presents and accessories.  I created my background with Distress Oxide inks in Wilted Violet, Cracked Pistachio, Salty Ocean, and Broken China. I applied the colors in stripes with my Ink Blending Tools and then spri...
