It’s that time again! Time for another one of Kathi’s fabulous and inspiring sketches for Bombshell Stamps ! Here’s a look see at it. There are so many things you can do with this sketch…I may need to use it again because of all of the ideas I have! But for now, here’s what I made for today. I used a wacky combination of papers, that I think look pretty funky together when used with this sketch. For my Bombshell images, I used Butterfly Queen and Man’s Ruin (for the sentiment). I colored my Queen with my colored pencils. Actually, I only used pencils from my beloved Multicultural set from Crayola. Yes. Crayola! Their pencils rock. And so does this set. Anyway, I must say, I love the way her stockings came out. They really look fibrous to me, and sheer. I think she’s h-o-t! I had some clear cabochons that I tinted with Pitch Black Alcohol Ink from Ranger, and I adhered them using Platinum Liquid Pearls. I hope you will play along with this sketch challenge! Ju...

Howdy! It’s release day for Simply Betty Stamps’ Sweet Gothic Kids Halloween line! Today I will be showing you 2 of the last 3 images. This is an adorable collection, and I know it’s going to sell like mad! So let’s take a peek at my creations. First up, is Vampiress Tilly. Isn’t she fabulous? I love her look, her pose, everything about her! I colored her with my markers, and I am quite pleased with the end result. Isn’t her hair cool? I’d like you to please take a look see at my background. I was lucky enough to win 2 stencils of my choice from Dreamweaver Stencils, and one of the ones I chose was this beautiful Damask background. I knew it would be purrfect for Halloween! I used it (incorrectly…I kinda made up my own way!) with Perfect Pearls from Ranger. It came out very soft and blurry…but I really like the end result! Hello hello! Welcome to the Simply Betty Stamps Sweet Gothic Kids Halloween Preview! Today, the SBS gals, and The Burtonesque Dolls are sharing 3 of the 6 new images that will be released tomorrow! And, I made 2 of my cards for sketch challenges. So, let’s get started! The first sketch challenge I worked with was the latest Deconstructed Sketch . I love Jen’s sketches! And here is my take on it, using Rag Doll Sally. I opted to not go with Halloween colors for her. Doesn’t she look sugary sweet? I colored her with markers. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. And I used papers from various companies. Next up is Punkin’ Judy! For this card, I used this month’s Smeared & Smudged Sketch. And here’s my take on it. Another cutie, right? Haunted Design House is celebrating their 100th challenge! And with that, not only comes some amazing blog candy-corn , but a fantastic challenge as well. The challenge is Varying Visages of Vincent. Price, of course! He would have been 100 this year. I still remember him on Sesame Street and Scooby Doo. Those were some of my favorite episodes of both of those shows. Se? Even then I was twisted! ;) So I found an awesome image on THIS PAGE and knew I needed to use it. How could you not think of Vincent Price when you think of Thriller? And vice versa! The image was so damn cool that I didn’t want to over do it with a lot of schtuff…but I did feel the need to add 3 layers of blood and goo to the top of the card. And tombstones. I needed tombstones. Both punches are from the Devil Herself, Martha Stewart. I of course inked the edges of pretty much everything, and I scratchy-wrote Thriller. Greetings! It’s time for another Scrap Team challenge from Simply Betty Stamps ! This week, we are challenging you to make a layout using pockets! Wanna see my project? These photos are from 2009. My sisters and I threw my Mom a surprise Pirate Birthday Party. She adores all things pirate (especially if said pirates look like Johnny or Orlando!), and we’ve actually had some other pirate bashes since then. Anywho, I decided to use Simply Betty’s Jack and Lizzy digis on top of my pocket. Here’s what is inside of the pocket. Two more photos! Pockets are a great way to add lots of extra stuff to your page that would not have fit otherwise. And, they are also great to hide things that may be too personal for everyone to see. That’s not the case here though. Look at how teeny Phoenix is! He’s only 6 months old! Awwwww! Here’s a close up of Lizzy and Jack, plus my sis Monica and my BFF Terry peeking out of the pocket. This is a fantastic StampInsanity Challenge!!! You get to pick one of your favorite previous challenges, and make a new project with it! Well, since I love so many of the SI challenges, I couldn’t pick just one…so I chose 3! I used #38: It’s All About Me!, #41: Hard Core Hardware, and #69: Goin’ Goth (really…how could I not go with that one?!). I also chose to work with Pierrette, who is still one of my all time favorite images. First, let me say that I still can’t get purple to photograph properly! It is so frustrating! Because her dress is fabulous and dark, and here it looks washed out and blue. But trust me, it’s a grapey purple. For challenge 38, I decided to color Pierrette in as if she were me. So, in comes the purple and teal. I opted to not give her funky colored hair (there are times when my hair isn’t dyed!), and wicked makeup. For challenge 41, I decided to work with some staples. It’s time for a new Burtonesque Dolls challenge! This go ‘round, we want you to find the lighter side of Burton…and create a project based on the non-goth/creep/scary side. Up for the challenge??? Great! But first, tak a look see at my inspiration and creation.   And to coincide with this week’s Merkids release from Simply Betty, I used Suzi. Isn’t Suzi pretty? Named after non other than Mrs. Weyremaster herself! She’s all colored up with markers. The big, beautiful tree is called October Tree, and it’s from Inkadinkado. I stamped it with a dark brown watercolor marker, then chalked over it to get my background colors. My quote is of course, from the movie. It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen it.
