Flowers of Tomorrow

My Aunt Paula is a teacher. Her school is having a fundraiser this week and she asked if I wanted to make anything to donate to the event. I decided to give in a few scrapbooking layouts, a necklace and a set of cards. Everything was already made in my stash except for the cards. Here’s what I created: I kept it really simple, but really pretty. I used four stamps to create the centerpiece. The flowers are from a Paper Candy set and the sentiment is from Verve (which I had gotten from Tonya). I think it’s a very sweet card, and it was easy enough to duplicate quickly (while finally getting to watch the season finale of The Vampire Diaries. Holy cow! What an ending!!!). Here’s a close up so that you can see the different inks, papers and stamps I used a little better. Please click on any photo to see it bigger. I love how this set turned out. I actually left the stamps on my acrylic block because I’m thinking I may make some more and add them to my Etsy Shop . What do you...

Darque Obsession2

I have another thrilling new release to share with you today!!! Remember last' week’s release from Tonya? Darque Obsession? Those gorgeous she-vamps??? Well, here come the boys! And my oh my, are they H-O-T!!! I made a card featuring the guy who happens to now be my favorite vamp actor. Rob who??? Move over all you bad-boy vamp wannabes… make room for Ian Somerhalder, otherwise known as Damon Salvatore from the Vampire Diaries. This image was inspired by him. Behold! The “Smoldering” Vampire… Uh, yeah. Yum! THIS is what a vampire is supposed to look like in my world. Tom Cruise as a blonde? No. A guy who looks more wolf than vamp? Hell no! But this guy right here??? Oh yeah! I must say I busted my butt coloring this digi in. Seriously. I HAD to get it just right! I even watched an episode of Vampire Diaries whilst coloring so I could make sure I got the high and low lights of his jacket right! Any excuse to watch Damon the show! His skin color doesn't photograph too well. Bu...

Click the link on my sidebar to hop right over and shop! Now, on to my project… Let me say, I love this card…but it doesn’t photograph too well! It’s way cooler in person! Again, click it to see it bigger! I used Izzy from the first brand new set. She’s so cool! Here’s a close up: Broke out my colored pencils again and did my best to make her look just a bit twisted! For the main background, I used glossy paper and inked it up with 3 colors of alcohol ink. I love the effect y...

Pink Ninjas Prompt #37: What’s Your Stilo?

Hello! Sooooo…I’m kinda nervous, kinda excited… Many of you know by now how nervous I get with computers and new projects on the computer. I need details people, details! So when The Pink Ninjas (who I am now obsessed with…thanks Sarabeth!) said that we followers can become authors on their Art Walk blog, I hopped right on board, albeit I was shakin’ in me boots. Their latest challenge was “What’s Your Stilo?” Meaning, what’s your style. Oh, and we were supposed to use some crepe paper but for some ridiculous reason or another, I have none! Oh well… Anyway, this is the layout I made. And, while I like to think I have several styles, there are some specific things I tend to do on most of my pages. Here’s Baby Rhi last year, shortly after she learned how to sit on her own. So this layout shows a lot of the elements I gravitate towards. Lots of color, different patterns and textures, inking, stamping on pages, and using different fonts. I stamped the swirls 2x, in 2 different blues. T...

Friends Having Fun Sketch #2: For My Mom

Since the days of Twilight Tuesday, I have loved creating things with Dani’s sketches. So, now with Friends Having Fun, the same is true. Her sketches keep getting better and better! Take a look: Fab right? Love it! With it, I made a card for my Mom for Mother’s Day. The showpiece in this card is of course that gorgeous mermaid from Sweet Pea . I won her from Alex’s blog candy a short time ago. I got her in the mail on Friday, and had to color her in immediately! I also used some bamboo (on the red) from Inkadinkado and a grassy stamp from Judikins. The mermaid is of course colored with colored pencils and the background stamps are Versamarked and Clear embossed. Here’s a closeup of the mermaid: I love these colors. I don’t normally work with so many bright and bold “primaries",” but I really love it here. She makes me smile. Aren’t colors supposed to do that though? Make you smile? Here you can see the background stamps I used a little better. Please click on any of the imag...

Inspired by a Peacock…and a Vamp!

Can you be inspired by both and make one project? I say “hell yeah!” First, I was working with Lily (Bitten) one of the brand spankin’ new digis from my wonderful friend Tonya. Click HERE to see the others and buy the set for yourself! Then, Kim , one of my fellow DT members over at Smeared and Smudged has her latest challenge up… be inspired by a peacock! Well, let’s get on with it right??? I made a 6x6 card and used a whole bunch of papers and stamps to create the card. Please click on any of my pics to see them bigger. Isn’t she beautiful? I love the sexual energy she’s giving off. She reminds me of Bella from the black Dagger Brotherhood. She is colored with my Spectracolor pencils. And here are some peacock feathers! I used colors inspired by a peacock too. Not so vibrant… I muted it down a bit. Don’t all of these papers and stamps give you the idea of feathers? Oh! And my lovely sentiment is from some Blog Candy I won from Alex . The stamp is from Sweet Pe...

Darque Obsession

Hello my Lovelies! Welcome to a spectacular release! My fang-tastic friend Tonya is releasing her very first set of digital stamps! And it is SOOOO up my alley ali! ;} How friggin’ amazing are these chicks??? Yes Tonya, I am obsessed. I can do SO much with these images! You should all know by now how crazy I am for all things Vamp… this is no exception! Wanna see what I made with “The Seductress”? What do you think? I think she’s gorgeous! I NEED to have that dress (even my husband says so!)! I know, ya need a close up right? She is of course colored in with my colored pencils. And I added Burgundy Stickles to her crosses, and some touches of my Sakura pens. Please click on any of the images to see them bigger. Here you can see the glimmer from the gel pens. I tried something different with her hair. I wanted it blue black obviously, like I’ve seen some folks do with Copics. I struggled a bit with this. I like how it came out, but it wasn’t what I was after. Any su...
