M is for Mom

Greetings! This month, the Artists in Residence are working with the theme, "M is for..." so I decided to go with M is for Mom. Mother's Day is almost here, and my mom (thankfully) loves to get my homemade cards, so I figured I'd make a card that was very well suited to her. My mom loves all things steampunked. She is so cool. She loves texture and neutrals and gears...and well, all the stuff I put on this card! I started off with the Gears Stencil and the Vintage Creative Medium and let that speak t me about what to do next. I knew the Vertigo would be a fun way to spell out Mom, and inking it up with StazOn helped it to stand out more. I didn't ink the Vertigo completely, but varied the amount of ink I used on the letters to give some more visual interest. I used assorted shaded of brown ink, some ultra fine glitter and Fireworks! Spray for some shine. Supplies: Imagine : Vertigo in Tilted StazOn in Spiced Chai Creative Medium in Vintage Firework...

Lap Full of Kittens

Hello! Today I have a new card featuring A Day for Daisies to share with you. I made this card for my mom, who is going through some things right now...and i though a card would cheer her up. My mom has a lot of cats, so I knew this image, called A Lap Full of Kittens , would be purrfect for her. I colored the image on Mixed Media Paper by Canson with my Zig Clean Color Markers. I used my water brush a bit too. The kittens are colored to look like some of my mom's cats. My background was done with Dreamweaver Stencils' (via Stampendous ) Mosaic Swirls stencil and 2 Dylusions sprays. My sentiment is also from Stampendous, from their  Cat Sayings  set. That' it for me today. I'll have a new Wicked Wednesday ATC for you tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

I am a Mom. It's still weird for me to say that even though I've been a Mom for over 2 years now. I guess I still feel like a kid myself sometimes. But, I am so proud to have the title. My babies are awesome. Phoenix is the cutest, funniest little kid and he never ceases to amaze me. Have I mentioned that he recognizes every letter of the alphabet ? Yes... at 2 years old! But I digress... And my little Rhiannon is getting prettier every day. I love those HUGE smiles that she's always giving me. I look so forward to the many things she will do to amaze me. Mother's Day this year was nice. We got to see both my mom and my mother-in-law... But, honestly, I think it's kind of a silly holiday (don't get me wrong, I will always want handmade cards from my kids on this day!). Mother's Day is a day when you're supposed to tell your mom how much you love her; which is great... we should all tell our moms (or anyone that's important to us) how much we love th...
