Molten Metal Jacks

Happy Halloween!Today I have a Halloween card, which I feel like I have seriously been missing out on this October. I began creating this card on a Facebook Live, where I shared how to do the Molten Metal Technique. I used the  Jack O Lanterns Stencil  for this technique. To see how it's done, please check out replay below. And here is the finished card... After I finished the Molten Metal Technique, I colored in the eyes and mouths of the Jacks with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Then I created a sky and ground with Chipped Sapphire, Frayed Burlap, and Black Soot Distress Ink. I dug through my scraps and found a cool piece of orange cardstock to stick behind my Jacks. Then I created my card base out of brown cardstock. I decide to mimic my Distress Ink background, so I tore a piece of deep blue cardstock, and dripped on some Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Frost for a touch of additional shine. Thanks to the cool technique on the Jack O Lanterns, I didn't re...

Day 30 of the 31 Days of Halloween

Greetings! Can you believe that this is almost the end? I sure can't.... Today I have a card featuring a Dreamweaver Stencil (via Stampendous). And I used one of my favorite techniques with embossing paste. The technique I used is called Molten Metal. Basically, you spread your embossing paste over a stencil, remove the stencil, then tap Metallic F/X powder on to the wet paste. I usually use a brush to to this. Then, I heat the paste with a heat gun until it starts bubbling. Brush off the excess, and then you have this great effect! I used Forestry, Nouveau Orange, and Purple Satin over Glossy Black embossing paste. I spritzed the background of the bats with Tuxedo Black Fireworks! Spray , plus I rubbed some Black Shimmer Delicata ink around the edges. Both are from Imagine . Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fangtastic day!

Thanks with Dreamweaver

As we officially head into the holiday season, the Dream Team are challenging all of our followers to be especially "Thankful and Thoughtful" during the month of November. We hope that you will link your creations with this theme in mind on the Dream It Up! blog using the Inlinkz tool. Our "thanks" to you is providing you with the opportunity to win the stencil of your choice, and a bonus stencil of our choosing could be yours for using Dreamweaver product(s) in your artwork. I'm posting this for you today: I started off with the beautiful Pumpkins stencil, and I used the beautiful Molten Metal technique. I made sure to keep the front pumpkin a different color from the 2 back pumpkins, so that they would be distinct, and not blend together too much.  I used 6 colors of Metallic FX powders for this technique. As I looked through my stencils, I realized that I didn't have a "thank you" stencil! I'll need to get on that. But in the mean...

Day 1 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween

It's time to celebrate!!! It's finally October, and that means it's time for the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween! My absolute favorite time of the year. I'm super excited because I won last year, and I can't wait to show you some things I made with my winnings. Plus, I am representing Dreamweaver Stencils on certain days (like today), and I am thrilled to show you what an exciting company they are! So here's my first piece..... I used Dreamweaver's Jack o Lanterns (LL 531) stencil for this card. And I had a lot of fun with them! I used the Molten Metal technique. I started with Glossy Black Embossing Paste  and applied it with a palette knife over the stencil. I removed the stencil, and while the paste was still wet, I sprinkled on 3 colors of Metallic F/X Powders . I used Pewter, Eye of the Tiger and Gold Dust. I then heated the Jacks with my embossing gun and watched them bubble! That was fun. Then I dusted off the excess powder. Simp...
