May Hump Day Hop: Banners

Greetings, bloggy friends! It's the last Wednesday in May, so that means it's time for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month, I chose "Banners" for the theme. I thought this was a pretty simple one, as so many of the Bombshell sets come with really rad banners. The participants could also make their own banners...or if they really felt like being creative, to make a banner as their project. I decided to try something kind of new. Instead of making a card, or a scrapbook page...I made a mini 6x6 layout, with no photos. I think that I will make a whole book of these mini pages. It's not really art journaling, and not exactly scrapbooking...but it's fun, and I like it...so there ya go! Let me start iff by saying that the yellows look rather garish in my photos, but I promise, they look much better in real life. And the tones of my background paper are a bit brighter in real life too. For my mini page, I used Mermaid Treasure , Homeward Bound , and Aho...

Bombshell February pin-Up Challenge: Red and Gold

Greetings Bombshell Fans! Today I am bringing you a project that I made to coincide with the February Pin Up, Christine Hill Garner . Her challenge was to create a project using Red & Gold. Here's what I made. I used a lot of stamp sets for this clean and simple card, believe it or not. I started of course, with Bombshell Angel . I decided I wanted to glitter up the skirt, and add a pattern to her shirt, so I used the zebra print from the Bombshell Patterns set. Last, but certainly not least, I used a sentiment from the Mermaid Treasure set. With 20/20 hindsight, I should have given her skirt a base color. I of course thought of this after I squished all of that yummy glitter on. Oh well. Next time. As a side note, my kids loved watching my put her clothes together, especially when I showed them how I was putting the pattern on the shirt. I love that m...

Card Positioning System’s Sketch #256 with Bombshell Stamps!

Good Sunday morning to you! Today, I am very happy to share a card I made for Card Positioning System’s Sketch #256. This sketch is being sponsored by Bombshell Stamps, so some of the DT gals were asked to play along. Here’s my card. And here is the original sketch. I changed it around a wee bit…but that’s the fun part of doing a sketch challenge, right? Taking the original and giving it your own twist? For this card, I used Homeward Bound and Mermaid Treasure from Bombshell Stamps, of course. I colored the images using both my watercolor markers and my Copics. If you can click on this, or any of my other photos, you will see the image bigger. I used foam dots to pop up the mermaid and the “Homeward Bound” banner. I also used my beloved Mini Punchinella stencil from the Crafter’s Workshop for the circles in the background. I also added a layer of Glossy Accents to my mermaid’s tail, to make it look wet. I had a lot of fun with this sketch, even though it was a bit of ...
