Garnet Delphinium

Hello! Today I have a new card for Doodles Paper Playground . This card uses one of the newest Sparkle Blends, called " Garnet ." I'm a January baby, so I really love this blend of reds, pinks, and lavender. I chose to stamp a lovely Delphinium stamp from Stampendous, and I heat embossed it in in white on white cardstock. I looked through the Garnet Sparkle Blend to see what colors I wanted to pull from it. I chose a few Tombow markers that coordinated and scribbled them on to my craft mat. I spritzed the colors with a little water and dipped the heat embossed image into the ink. I dipped and dried the cardstock a couple of times to build up the layers of color, but I had to be careful of the embossed image. This technique is quick and really lovely. It can also be done with lots of products beyond the Tombow markers. You can use Zig markers, Distress Inks or Oxides, etc. For my sentiment, I used the Painted Hello die from Simon Says stamp, and I die cut it 3 t...

Day 1 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween!!!

Mwahahahahaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! It's finally here! The Smeared Ink 31 Days of Halloween! This is the 7th year! I can't believe it. I am super stoked to kick things off this year, so let's get to it! For my first project, I made a card that features the super rad Skeleton Lady stamp from Stampendous. The focal image is all one stamp. I love the collaged look that it has. You can click on my photos to see them bigger. I am really excited about this year of 31 Days, because I am now on the Stampendous Design Team. I love to represent them! Plus, the Stampendous blog is taking part in posting this year, so you will get to see what my fellow teamies are making too. My image here was colored with Tombow watercolor markers, and I spritzed it with irRESISTables from Tsuineko. Here's a close up. For my background, I did a couple of things. For the black layer, that's actually Coredinations cardstock. I used the Dreamweaver Rain Stencil  and ran it through my Sizzix Big...

All in Ones with Stampendous and Dreamweaver

Hello! Have you been enjoying the All in Ones from Stampendous this week? Today, we are combining these awesome stamps with Dreamweaver. I used the Sweater Snowman for my card today. I colored him with Spectrum Noir and Prismacolor markers. For the Dreamweaver portion of my card, I used the Christmas Border Embossing Folder. I rolled it through my Sizzix machine with Coredinations cardstock, and then I sanded it to highlight the  design. It works really well with the snowman's background. I used some fabulous Stampendous Crystal Glitter around the edge and some ink. I like using soft, non-traditional colors for Christmas...how about you? Although, this would be a great card for the folks that don't send out actual Christmas cards....non-secular cards are very important too! Please be sure to visit the rest of the team that is posting today. Their links are below. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day! S Stampendous Blog   Lyn Bernatovich   Pam H...

TTIC #40 Blue

This week’s Twilight Tuesday Challenge has been thought up by Jen. Here is her challenge: Blue. Edward loves Bella in blue. "That color blue looks lovely with your skin," he said, watching me. I was surprised; I looked down, flushing, of course. So this week the challenge is simple... create anything you want focusing on the color blue. Twilight related? Well that's up to you. Comment challenge... What's your favorite color to wear and why? So here is a simple little layout that I made of Phoenix and his “Blue.” He calls his blanket Blue. He loves this blanket so much. You know how it is when you have a favorite blanket… Well, this is his. And I can’t blame him. It is divinely soft and cozy! Wish it were big enough for me! I especially loves when he wraps it around his face! He looks ridiculous and adorable! I kept this layout pretty basic. I didn’t want to add too much “stuff.” Thought it would take away from the simple charm of a boy and his blanket. Used my fav...

Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #26

"The Void" I thought about this project for a little while. Spoiler alert!!! We had to create something that represented the "void" that Bella felt after Edward left in New Moon. She lost her love, and there was nothing she could do about it. It was so emotional... Stephanie Meyer merely wrote one month's name on a page to show the passing of time. It made me feel awful! So, allow me to describe my project. The black Void takes up most of the piece. It has been distressed to show the red hidden underneath. I chose the red because a.) It's the color of love and passion and b.) red is used on all four of the book covers. I sanded the paper in a diagonal direction going from the small corner of Bella to the larger area of Edward to show, sort of the vibration of her emotions going towards him. I scratched the title in to give the feeling of pain. I used a clear heart that I colored with 2 shades of red that I placed on top of Bella's name. Her heart is tran...
