Happy Birthday Tag

Hello! This week, the Stampendous Team is having a "Birthday Bash" theme. I thought it would be fun to kick it off with a tag that can be used to put on a gift. This is a very quick project, but it has a lot of impact. My instructions are below. Supplies: Stampendous : POPST03AFR: Happy Birthday Stamp Set Other : Imagine: VersaFine Ink in Onyx Black Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens: 020, 026, 031, 032, 041, 043, 050, 051, 052, 070 Staples: White Tag Purple Ribbon Stamp Positioner Directions: 1. Using a stamp positioner, stamp the "Happy" 4 times on the tag with VersaFine ink. The stamp positioner helps to have correct spacing between the words. 2. Stamp the "Birthday" at the bottom center of the tag. 3. Color the letters using the marker colors listed above; 2 colors per letter. 4. Attach a ribbon through the hole in the tag. Super fast, right? You can do this simple repetitive technique with many of your existing stamps, I'm

Valentine's Day Card Assortment

Greetings! So, Valentine's Day was 9 days ago at the time of this post, but I never had a chance to share the cards I made for my family. I am not a fan of V-Day, and I usually wait until the last minute to make cards for it. Besides the chocolate, it's just not my thing. And really, I prefer the day after Valentine's Day when the chocolate is on sale. ;)  Anyway, I made a card for my husband, and each of my children. Here's the card for my hubs.  I used the amazing and funny " As You Wish " stamp set from Ink Road Stamps for his card. Did you know I named this set? I started off with a monoprint that I made ages ago with a Electric Pink Radiant Neon and Golden Glitz Delicata reinkers from Imagine . As I was designing this card, I thought that the monoprint needed a little something more, so I used a Tim Holtz stencil with Barn Door Distress Oxide, to give it a bit of a sun ray effect.  Then I stamped the Princess and Robin with VersaFine Clair ink on

Yoga Flamingo

Hello! This week, the Stampendous Design Team has been sharing projects with animals doing yoga, or "Balance Buddies." There is a new flamingo trying yoga, so I had to use it. Modern Leaves

Hello! Last week, the White Rose Crafts team shared projects using products from Woodware. I decided to keep the party going by making this card. I used a stamp from the same Woodland Elements set that I used last week.  I started off by coloring the stamped image with Zigs....very basic coloring, to give it more of a stained glass look. I fussy cut it out and then chose the rest of my elements. I used some orchid colored paper with a small leaf stamp in the Woodland Elements set and embossed it with Ranger's Rose Gold powder. Then I inked the edges a little with Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide Ink.  I found paper with a small pattern in the Bombay Sunset 6 x 6 paper pack from Kaisercraft that was just perfect for my background. I cut it to 4" x 5 1/4" so that I had room to add more Rose Gold embossing powder directly on to my card base. I love the shine it gives off. My sentiment is also from the Bombay Sunset paper pack. The colors on this card are very

Downward Dog

Hello! This week, the Stampendous Design Team is making project with the theme, "Balance Buddies." We have several types of animals that are giving yoga a try. Dude, Let's Celebrate

Greetings! Today I am sharing a card that features the new " Mardi Gras Parade " Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground , along with 2 of the " Sweet Treats " stamps from Stampendous.  I stamped the ice cream cone and doughnut  repeatedly all over my background with VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne . Then I used Koi Watercolors to paint them. I mixed a few of the colors myself, like the pistachio ice cream and the frosting on the doughnut. That's always something I love to do, no matter the medium. I used some " Crushed Grapes " Nuvo Drops on the pistachio ice cream to add a bit of shine and dimension beyond the sequins I was going to add.  The "Mardi Gras Parade" Sparkle Blend is filled with shades of purple, green, and gold. It even has glitter sequins and day-glow sequins! As perfect as it is for Mardi Gras, don't pigeon hole it for just that purpose. It will work for many occasions. You can see some of the beautiful colors i

Woodware and White Rose Crafts

Hello! I've got a simple little card for you today that features a sweet stamp from Woodware. This week, the White Rose Crafts team is featuring creations using Woodware products. My card uses the Woodland Elements stamp set. I'll actually have another card featuring a different stamp from this set later in the month. I stamped the image with VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne, and then did some very basic coloring with my Zig Clean Color Markers. It only took a few minutes to color this image in. I fussy cut it out, then started to look through my 6" x 6" paper pads. White Rose Crafts has a ton of paper pad option, and I like the 6" x 6" pattern sizes. This paper is from the Altair Art "Ever Dream" paper collection. It's a double sided set of cardstock, so that little pink strip under the image is actually the reverse side of the blue!  Using patterned cardstock from one collection is a great way to speed up your paper crafting process. It

The Brilliant Colors of Amethyst

Hello Sparkle Blends fans! I've got a new shaker card to share with you, using one of the newest Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground , called " Amethyst ." It's part of the birthstone collection, and it truly captures the brilliant colors of amethyst. Amethyst the stone comes in varying shades of purple, sometimes tinged with pink, and very often has veins of white running through it. That is exactly what is embodied in this mix of sequins, mini gems, and glitter sequins.  I chose to color up a Laurel Burch cat for this card. It's actually a holiday stamp, but by switching up the colors and design of the card, this image can absolutely be used all year long. I colored the cat with Zig Clean Color Markers, and I used Nuvo Drops to fill in the "ornaments' on the tree.  For my background, I chose to use Spun Sugar , Seedless Preserves , and  Peacock Feathers  Distress Oxides. I blended the colors together and heat set them. Then I added a Lau

Today's card has the new Hellebore stamp. This is a BIG stamp, and it is just beautiful. I wanted to make this card very dynamic and bright, to sort of chase away those winter blues. White Rose Crafts February Sketch Challenge

Hello! Today I have something that I haven't done in far too long. A scrapbook page! Oh man, how I miss making these. It's a goal of mine to get more layouts made this year. I was really inspired by the February White Rose Crafts Sketch Challenge, and I am hoping to make each one this year a scrapbook page. I had this photo from a few years ago. It was springtime, and the beautiful magnolia tree in my neighbor's yard was blooming, so it was a perfect opportunity to get some great shots of my kids. This one was a favorite. I love the beautiful flowers from the Altair " Ever Dream " Ephemera Sheet, and I fussy cut several of the elements out. They coordinated perfectly with my photo. It's hard to tell, but my daughter's dress is covered in butterflies, so the butterflies on this sheet were just right for this page too. I took some Turquoise Creative Medium from Imagine and the Circles and Pluses stencil from Studio Light and applied it to my bac

Friends are Like Flowers

Hello! This week, the Stampendous team is sharing, "Flowers for Spring" projects. We stampers all have plenty of smaller images in our stash that can be used repetitively to create a custom background. That's just what I did on this card. Stamping only took a couple of minutes with an acrylic block, and then I kept my coloring simple too. My instructions are below. Aurora Wings Challenge #74

Hello! Today I am sharing a project for the 2nd half of the Aurora Wings Challenge #74 , which is Anything Goes. I decided to not create a card, but rather continue with my 6" x 6" mini album of Sprites. I have created quite a number of these pages before, but it's been a while, so this was the perfect opportunity.  I chose to work with the lovely Linnea Sprite . I used my Koi watercolors by Sakura on Canson Mixed Media Paper. I went for a very watery look on her, and I think it worked out well. I am still new to working with this palette, but I'll get better with it as I get to use it more often.  After I finished painting her, I looked through my stash of 6" x 6" papers, and came across Lemoncraft's Fresh Summer paper pack. The colors were just what I wanted. I inked the edges of my torn-edged sentiment, and I also added a few sequins from the "Pretty in Pink" Sparkle Bend. Because the paper is so lovely, I didn't really need to
