Color Palette with Wicked Wednesday

Greetings! It's time for a new Wicked Wednesday challenge. This week, we have a Color Palette Challenge for you. Check out the colors below. Super summery! Wicked Wednesday is sponsored by Concetta Kilmer . I used the image called " Rose " for my ATC. I colored her with my Tombow watercolor markers. I have this fantastic fibrous paper that's double sided. It just so happened to work perfectly with this color palette. So I tore it, roguhed up the edges so that all of the colors would show, and tacked it on to my ATC base with Zip Dry Glue from Beacon Adhesives. Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Wednesday team over on the blog. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Ombre Ornament Tutorial

Hello! Just recently, I finished filling out the Color Swatch Chat by fellow Imagine Artist in Residence Neva Cole . I realized a few things. Number one, I need more yellow and purple ink. Number two, it would be fun to create something with an ombre effect using some of the colors that I have. Since we have a bit of a Christmas in July theme going on the Imagine Blog , I decided to use one of Stampendous ' newest Stencil Duos , the Ornament Duo. Supplies : Imagine :  Gray Flannel Memento Black and Cement Versa Color Silvery Shimmer Delicata Sponge Daubers Other :  Stampendous: Ornament Duo , Holly Scroll Metal Stencil , Mixed Media Paper Blank White Card Base Black Cardstock Silver Wired Ribbon Tape Permanent Adhesive Directions:   1. Select 3 colors of ink that will blend well together. They do not necessarily have to be the same type (I used VersaColor and Memento, for example), but you want the styles to be similar. So, don't use StazOn with V...

Vintage Bird Clock with ADfD

It's "time" for me to share another A Day for Daisies project with you. This week, I used Vintage Bird Clock . We are also at the halfway mark for our current challenge, which is to CASE (copy and steal everything) the Design Team. I decided to make an ATC with the clock. I colored the digi with my Tombow Dual Brush markers. I made a loose fussy cut around it. On my blue background, I sprinkled some Seasonings and Aged Green Embossing Powders from Stampendous . It gets heated from underneath, since I didn't use any embossing ink to hold the powder in place. I inked the edges of the ATC with Cocoa Brown Memento Ink. Please be sure to visit the rest of the A Day for Daisies team over on the Blog . Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Tando Collaboration Finale with Stampendous

Hello! It's the grand finale for the Tando Creative and Stampendous collaboration. You are in for a real treat today. If you are only just joining the party, please head on over to the Stampendous Blog to see what the scoop is, and to find out how to win one of 3 prize packs. Now, on to my project. I know you've seen a lot of this guy all through the week, but come on... He's just SO cool! He's called Steam Pumpkin , and this is one of my favorite images released in the new July catalog. I broke out my alcohol markers, which I really haven't done lately....but I needed really great blending, and honestly, my (very very small) Copic collection, as well as my Prismacolors just needed to be used. This was my first attempt at making something look like it's actually metal, rust and all...and I have to say I'm pretty happy with it. Especially considering my limited color supply. As I was working on coloring the Steam Pumpkin, I was putting layer after ...

Hair Do with Wicked Wednesday

Hello! It's time for a new Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge. This week, the theme is "Hair Do," and our sponsor is SLS Lines . I used the Celestial Goddess image for my ATC. I used my Tombow Dual Brush watercolor markers to color her in. I also added a border from Sweet Stamps Shop 's Track It set. And I filled it in with Ice Stickles. That was a lot of hair to color! But, taking it one section at a time made it much easier to do. So take out your big hair images, and make an ATC along with Wicked Wednesday! Please be sure to visit everyone over on the Blog . Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Cardinal in my Window- Tando and Stampendous Hop

Hello! Welcome to a fun filled week of mixed media with the Stampendous team! We are super excited to be hopping along with Tando and their fantastic chipboard products, perfect for altering and combining with stamps, stencils, etc. There are of course, great prizes! To win, comment (with where you live) on all of the blogs listed, to have a shot at 3 prize packages. Full details are on the Stampendous Blog. Would you like to see what I made? I worked with Tando's Mini Printer Tray and Stampendous' Cling Winter Tweets stamps and Die sets. Plus lots of Deco Art paints and mediums, as well as inks from Imagine. I painted a few layers (including a crackle layer) on to the cover of the tray. I used a random piece of cardboard and Fitted Frame "V" for my tag, along with lots more layers of paint and sprays, including turquoise Shimmer Mister from Deco Art. It matches my hair perfectly! If you visit my Instagram , you'll get to see what I mean. Anyway, af...

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga...

CASE the DT with A Day for Dasies

Greetings! It's time for a new A Day for Daisies challenge, and we are sharing some previously released favorites. The challenge for the next 2 weeks is to CASE (copy and steal everything) on of the Design Team member's projects. I decided that I wanted to ply along in the challenge too, so I chose to CASE my fellow teamie's card from June. Here's my version first...  And this is Tanja 's card that I CASEd... My card features the image Fancy Dress Fairy . The backgrounds for both were done with alcohol inks. I used glossy photo paper for mine. I colored this fancy fae with Memento markers, and i added a wee bit of Stickles to her wings. I didn't have a sentiment that I wanted to use like Tanja, so I opted for some white grosgrain ribbon that I had laying around. It kept the fairy grounded too, since it appears that she is actually standing, and not flying. So....who will you be CASEing? Head on over to the A Day for Daisies Blog to see more ...

Water with Wicked Wednesday

Hello! It's Wednesday, so I have a new Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge to share with you. I looooove the fantastic image I got to work with for today. We are sponsored by The East Wind , and they have such fantastic images. The theme this week is "Water." I used Lucy Loo Mermaid II . She's not a "typical" mermaid...she has a bit of a menacing look on her face. I love that. I colored her with colored pencils and I used chalk for the sky and sand. I also used some of Stampendous ' Golden Sand embossing powder. I have to be honest, I was getting pretty bored with mermaids. But this gal really inspired me. Please join us this week with our Water challenge. And be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Wednesday team over on the blog. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
