Support Our Troops and Marie

Hello! It's Wednesday so I have new Wicked Wednesday and A Step in the Dark projects to share with you. The thee for Wicked Wednesday is Support Our Troops, and we are sponsored by Sassy Studios.

This is Sailor Honey, and I think she is super sweet. I had a fun time coloring her. I used alcohol and watercolor markers. My paper tends to bleed with alcohol markers though, which is frustrating. Her hair is not as good as it could have been because of the bleeding. What paper do you use for alcohol markers?

I thought the metallic striped paper I used really set off the Americana vibe I was going for with my ATC.
The new A Step in the Dark challenge is sponsored by Lacy Sunshine and the theme is Anything Goes. I used Marie for my card.

I colored her mostly with watercolor markers. I used paper and a punch from Martha Stewart...she always has great Halloween products.

Please be sure to check out the Wicked Wednesday as well as the A Step in the Dark blogs to check out some more great projects. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Love is Love with Nathalie Kalbach and Friends

The Stampendous team is showcasing the fabulous stamps and stencils from Nathalie Kalbach this week, and some of Nathalie's friends have been joining us. There are 3 prize packaages up for grabs, and anyone can win! Visit the Stampendous Blog for full details. I have been thinking a lot about the recent tragedy to the LGBT community in Orlando, and I decided to use Nathalie's Urban Scribble set for today's project. I started off with the foam stamp (the blank side) and colored a rainbow on it using my Tombow Dual Brush markers. I sprayed the foam stamp with a little water to re-wet the colors, and get some nice splotches. I applied the stamp, then I went back with the detail stamp and inked it up with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Then, using the stencil that comes in the Urban Scribble set, plus the Picasso tool, I stenciled some pixelated clouds in the background. I hand wrote "Love is Love." I decided to not make this a card..but rather some

Day 1 of 31 Days: Come as You Aren't

Greetings! It's officially the most wonderful time of the year! Today is Day 1 of the 31 Days of Halloween. I have participated in every 31 Days (what are we at? Year 5?) and I am so excited to be doing it again. For my first project. I use a bunch of Stampendous' newest Halloween images. I started off with the fantastic witch label from the Halloween Labels Cling and Die Set  and colored it with Zig Clean Color Markers. I then stamped the spiderweb and a spider from the Spider Fear set and embossed with with Star Dust embossing powder. I created my card base out of Sweet Potato cardstock and stenciled the Swirls Stencil with Gray Flannel Memento ink. I didn't make it solid, rather I wanted the stenciled image to fade in and out of the background. Then I inked up the bottom edge of the card base with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed Marcastie Embossing Powder on top. The card needed a little something further, so I stamped a sentiment from the Spooky Wishes
