DICC, Plus Betty, Betty, & More Betty!

Hello! It’s going to be a busy week for me, as Simply B Stamps has a brand new (and adorable!) collection to share with you. That preview kicks off today, as well as the first new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge of 2012! Today, our very own Lelia Pierce has her itinerary up today.  As always, to play along, you need to use at least 3 items.

1)  Monochromatic

2)  Stitching

3)  Metal

4)  Embossing

5)  No Designer/Pattern Paper

6)  Handmade Flower

7)  Distressing

8)  Sentiment

9)  Up Cycle

10)  Chipboard

If you visited the SBS Blog yesterday, you may have seen the card I am about to share with you. We have a new challenge up, and you can get all of the deets there. But, I also wanted to use that card for today’s DICC, so I waited to post it here until today. I used #’s 2, 3, 4, 8, and 10.

I know, I know…it’s Winter. But I really love that little turkey. And this Betty (Fall Frolic Betty) is just so joyful! I needed to use this image.

I used watercolor markers and Copics (for the skin only) on this image. Seriously, I love that turkey!

So, perhaps Leila wanted us to use actual “metal”…but I did “metallic” instead. I rubbed a bronze metallic pigment on to the embossed area. You can see it best in this photo. My stitching is a rub on.

On to the first preview for the new Jude and the Rockers Playtime collection. I have been waiting and waiting for this set to come out, because it reminds me so much of my little ones! You’ll see why…

This is Spelling Blocks Oscar. He is done with Copics and watercolor markers too. Like Oscar, my son loves to build. Like seriously LOVES it. So I just had to make a layout with pics of him doing one of the things he does best.

Please remember that you can click on this (or any other) picture to see it bigger. Here’s my Phoenix in his room making a rather long wall. It’s cool at first glance. But then, when I really looked at it…I saw this crazy hole that I swear, defies the laws of physics!

Do you see the arrow? It’s pointing to the crazy hole. I don’t know how he did it. It still confuses me. But I’m no engineer. He' was really proud of that hole!

In addition to the adorable Oscar, I used a mess of Glimmer Mists, a little journaling, a bit of doodling, some paper scraps and 2 stickers. I think it’s a playful layout, which is just what this new collection is all about. Just wait until you see the rest of the set!

Now it’s time for you to visit the DICC Blog and the SBS Blog, to see even more cool creations from the DT’s. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Our Favorites: ADfD Blog Hop

***Sorry for the late posting....Blogger doesn't always play nice! Today is the first day of our  ADFD Blog Hop  - a celebration of all of the beautiful images Tammy has created over the years. As a special surprise for Tammy, we have a combination of current and former DT members participating in the hop. Her inspiring art and generous heart have touched us all. We want to take a moment to show our gratitude and thank Tammy for the blessings and joys we have received as members of the ADFD DT. Our theme is “A Collection of ADFD Favorites” - so each DT member’s blog you visit will share something she has created with one of her favorite ADFD images.  The hop has   hidden prizes  - a commenter from each hidden prize stop will win a choice of one image from the ADFD Shop ! You won’t know where the prizes are hidden, so be sure to leave a comment at each stop of the Hop!  Our Blog Hop will run from 7:00 a.m. eastern standard time on Saturday, February 25, 2017 until 9:00 p.m. eas

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
