Holiday Hoopla: September Bomsbshell Hump Day Hop

It's the last Wednesday of the month of September (YIPPIE!!!), so that means it's time for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop. Here's the topic I chose for this month. Holiday Hoopla Many of our major holidays are just around the corner. I think we all know what my favorite holiday is (Halloweenie! )...but what's yours? My challenge to you is to make a Bombshell project for your favorite holiday. Bonus points if you make a decoration!!! Use any holiday you want and create something that's going to make us want to celebrate!!! Ooh, I have really been looking forward to seeing what everyone makes for this hop! But first, let's take a look at mine, shall we? I'm pretty stoked about this project! I'm probably going to hear a collective gasp from everyone reading this...but I need a break from cards! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE making them...but I adore doing other things! Altering stuff. Using weird supplies (ie masking tape!). Truth be told, I'm

Burton Chibis Release Day!

Greetings! As promised, I have 2 more cards for you today featuring the latest Simply Betty Stamps collection: Burton Chibis. Let’s start off with Willy Wonka! How joyful is he?! Of course, wouldn’t you be if you were in his shoes? I LOVE this movie *the original and the Johnny Depp version), so I was really excited to work with this image! I used my watercolor markers to color Mr. Wonka in, and I added some additional embellishments to make this card even sweeter. A little glitter, a candy stamp (Inkadinkado), and some alcohol ink-dyed cabochons. I think this card is funky and fun! But now it’s time for some Halloween! I give you…Miss Betty Burton… October is quickly approaching, and this little lady was just begging to be decked out in the colors of Halloween. Doesn’t her dress look like it’s made of satin? At least…that’s what my Mom said! :) I love her little bat. I always wanted a pet bat. It’s totally my Dad’s fault. There’s this pet store we went to f

Burton Chibis! Preview Day

Who wants another release from Simply Betty Stamps ? I’m sure you do! This time around, we have the Burton Chibis! Quirky and cute for sure! Today I am sharing a card using Corpse Bride. I loved using these shades of purple and blue! I colored the Corpse Bride in with my watercolor markers. Isn’t she sweet? I love the butterflies flying around her! I inked the edges with a pale blue. I did the same around the sentiment. I used some stitch rub-ons and purple ink…followed by some pretty, sparkly embossing powder. If you click on this (or any) image, you can see it bigger. Tomorrow there will be more new images, plus it’s release day! So you can snag Corpse Bride and all of her friends up for yourself! The rest of the DT has some awesome projects to share with you today and tomorrow (I know, ‘cause I’ve seen ‘em!), so I do hoe you’ll stop by the Simply Betty Stamps Blog to see their creations. I’ll have 2 cards to share with you tomorrow. As an aside, today is the last

StampInsanity 76: Photo a Mojo

It’s time for a new StampInsanity challenge! This week, we are trying to inspire you by choosing one of two photos. I chose the second…this is what it looks like: Beautiful colors and makeup, huh? I love the feathers on her eyelashes. I decided to work with one of my favorite SI images, Kassandra. So of course, I pulled the colors directly from the photo and used my markers to color Kassandra in. I’ve never given her black hair before, and I think she looks fabulous with it! Aren’t the other colors rad, too? As I mentioned before, I love the feathers on the model’s eyelashes. So I took out 2 pallets of my Petal Point ink by Color Box, and swept the ink from the center out. I used turquoise, pink and lime green. Then I embossed it with clear powder for a bit of sheen and texture. My sentiment is from StampInsanity of course. I added only some turquoise to the bottom of it. That’s it! It came together really quickly. I didn’t do any extra embellishing, as I didn’t th

Steampunk Halloween Release!

Squee!!! It’s release day for Simply Betty Stamps’ Steampunk Halloween collection! Best SBS collection EVER! I have 3 more creations to share with you today, so let’s get started! This is Druscilla. Isn’t she an elegant demon? Perhaps an older version of Simi for al you Dark Hunter fans out there? I love her gown, and her horns, her wings…well…all of her really! This was another project that Phoenix assisted on. He chose the colors I used. And I think he picked a great combination! You’ll notice I broke out my Heidi Swapp bat masks again…just love ‘em! I also sprinkled some fabulously chunky gold glitter around the bottom of Druscilla’s gown. Now let’s move on to Lydia, the Living Dead Girl. Ooh, she’s a fun one…trust me! So she’s dead. Big deal…Don’t you wanna party with her? I used the latest Deconstructed Sketch for my layout. And I gave it a funky 80’s twist. I really want her dress for myself! I fashioned her kitty after one of my mom’s..she can be as creepy as thi

Steampunk Halloween by Simply Betty Stamps

It’s official! This is my absolute favorite collection that Simply Betty Stamps has put out! I LOVE THIS COLLECTION! It’s the Steampunk Halloween, and believe me when I say, you are all going to want it! All of the Steampunks are incredible, and I really have a ton of projects I plan on doing with all of the older sets…but this one…oooh…this set rocks my socks to the max! Plus, it’s a big collection (in size and quantity)! There are 7 images in this set! And they are about 5 inches tall. You will want them all! Ok…I can’t wait any longer…let’s take a peek! Let’s start off with Draco the Ghost Gent. He is creepy cool…seriously. Look at his clothes! Look at his face! Look at the awesome top hat! Can you tell I’m excited? ;) Now…look at the background. If you stopped by yesterday and saw my latest Bombshell Stamps creation, I made a card using this same mask (from Tim Holtz). I am on a serious mask kick lately (perhaps because Halloweenie is coming?!), as you will see on several p

Hauntingly fun Bombshell Stamps Hop!

Who’s ready for a spooktacular  hop with some of the Bombshell gals ? I know I am! There is a fabulous new set of digis clothes that is to be paired with Bombshell Angel . The set includes 3 fa-boo-lous costumes, a scroll, and some wicked good sayings. I chose to work with the steampunk/vampy outfit (thought I colored all 3 images immediately, since they’re all so cool!). I kept my card kind of simple…but it’s still cool. How great is that outfit? Makes me wanna break out my own top hat (yes, I do own one). I stuck to one of my favorite color combos…red, black, and white (at Gene’s suggestion). I highlighted the white in her outfit with a pale blue. I didn’t want to use grey, because I didn’t want the white to appear dingy. I’ve been a wee bit obsessed with using my masks lately (you’ll see a lot more of them this week!)…and she just seemed like she needed to have a steampunk edge to her (that’s probably influenced by the AMAZING collection that Simply Betty Stamps is comi

DICC #16: Tiffany’s itinerary

Hello bloggy friends! It’s time for another Desert Islands Crafters Challenge! Have you been playing along with us? Here’s the scoop. Every 2 weeks, we will give you an itinerary to follow…as if you were stranded on an island and had to work with these items. The itinerary will have 10 things on it…you need to use at least 3. This time around, I managed to use 5. The items I used will have a “*” next to it. Here’s the itinerary. Tiffany’s Itinerary 1. Lined Paper* 2. Books 3. Chalk* 4. Pencils 5. Tape* 6. Ruler 7. Name Tag 8. Lunch Money 9. Plaid School Uniform* 10. Apple for the Teacher* I used School Girl Betty from Simply Betty Stamps for this. I colored her with markers, then inked and chalked the edges. I even chalked on top of Betty, to dull the colors down a bit, since my apple paper is so distressed looking. My tape is from Heidi Swapp…it’s really old. The apple paper is from DCWV (also old). I was going to put a big “S” on the card some

Bombshell Stamps September Sketch Challenge

I love a good sketch challenge! And Kathi (our fabulous Bombshell DT leader) always makes very inspiring ones! Wanna see this month’s???   I’ll admit…this was a tricky one for me at first, because I wanted to also use this card for this month’s Pin-Up ( Stempelientje ) challenge is “Speed and Red.”  Here’s what I came up with. I hope you can see my little innuendos… The sentiment says “They’re both fast,” and I used paper with screws on it. A bit naughty, no? ;) This fabulous car is from the Speed Shop set. I highly recommend it for all of you hot rod lovers (or those that know hot rod lovers!). This is such a sweet lookin’ ride!   I also broke out my Retro Cowgirls set. I hadn’t used this gal yet, and she was begging to be used… ;) I cut her hat off, because I think it would have been distracting here. The gold on her…ahem…outfit is sparkly. Not sure how well you can see it. You may want to click on this (or any other) picture to see it bigger.   That k
