Song Bird Art Journal Page

Hello! I'm sure you've been loving all of the n* Studio for Stampendous projects this week, and I have another one to share with you today. But first, take a look at the prizes that can be won. For full details on how to try winning, please visit the Stampendous Blog . Now...on to my project. I decided to have a little fun with art journaling today. I used the Bird Foam Stamp, Cling Stamp and Stencil Set for this page. I started off with my background, applying some yummy Dylusions paint and using the negative pieces of the stencil. Then I used the main part of the stencil to get the teal laid down. Next I used yellow, and added some detail with the pen that comes with Stampendous' Stencil Duos . Then I painted the solid foam side of the bird and stamped it on to my page. Next, I stamped the cling stamp on top with some embossing ink. I then sprinkled some Detail White and heat set it. See the pretty sheen on the bird? It has nice texture too. I wrote "

Put a Bow on it with Wicked Wednesday

Hello! It's time for a new Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge. This week, we are sponsored by All Dressed Up and the theme is "Put a Bow on it." I colored the Little Bookworm with my Tombow watercolor markers. I love her hat. I have always wanted one just like it. There's something about the shape of it...it's just so pretty, I sprayed a little bit of Bahama Blue Fireworks! from Imagine Crafts on my green cardstock for a little bit of shimmer. If you click on my 2nd picture, you'll see it a little bit better. Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Wednesday team over on the blog. And try to play along with us this week too! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Fun with Fireworks!

Fireworks! are fun to spritz, but there are other things you can do with them. My project today will give you some examples. Directions: 1. I started off with 2 coordinating stencils- a background, patterned stencil, and a singular large image stencil. In this case, it was a heart. I taped down my watercolor paper(only on top, to create a hinge), then the background stencil, and then my heart stencil.  2. Grab your Fireworks spray and let’s get spritizing! But wait! Don’t spray your stencils. This time, we are going to spray our Craft Mat and use sponge daubers to apply the color. Make sure you shake up your Fireworks! before you spray them on to your craft mat.         3. Using your sponge daubers, start to apply the colors to the watercolor paper.  Fireworks! dry quickly, so you will want to work fast, but you can always go back and apply more to blend the colors better. I had my tape set up as a hinge so that I can peek underneath the stencils to see if I

Cityscape Card with Nathalie Kalbach & Stampendous

Hello! Who's ready for some fun with Nathalie Kalbach this week? I know I am! Nathalie is an amazing artist who just so happens to have a stamp line with Stampendous . She recently came out with 3 rad sets that not only contain stamps, but a great stencil too. And they just so happen to be the prizes for this week. Take a look.... Wait until you see what these babies can do! You're going to want all 3, and you have the chance to win them all. Just head over to the Stampendous Blog for all of the details. This contest is open to everyone, so be sure to go for it! I used Urban Scribble for my card. Truth be told, I used it in it's simplest way. Not a crazy amount of layers, no extra doodles.... It was my first time experimenting with these sets, so I wanted to just see what they can do. Needless to say, I now want to draw, scribble, and layer the heck out of them! I used chalk inks from Color Box, making the most solid layer the lightest color, and working

Anything but a Card with A Day for Daisies

Happy Friday! It's time for me to share my latest project for A Day for Daises . This week, we have a new challenge for you! It's "Anything but a Card." Not too tough, right? I used Vintage School Girl One and I made an ATC. I really loved using my new (for me) Kaleidacolor ink pads from Imagine Crafts last week, so I decided to use them again for this week's projects. I used the Spectrum palette on watercolor paper with a brayer. For my image, I colored it with my Tombow Dual Brush watercolor markers and fussy cut it out. I inked the edge of my ATC with Tuxedo Black Versafine ink, and I added a "Wonderful" from Technique Tuesday. Ta-da! Finished! Please be sure to visit the rest of the gals at the A Day for Daisies Blog . Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Birthday Girl with Wicked Wednesday

It's time for a new Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge! This week, we are sponsored by Lemon Shortbread , and the theme is, "Birthday Girl." I used Cute Balloon Girl for my ATC and I colored her with colored pencils. I used some paper scraps for my base and embellishment, and a sentiment from Stampendous.  I also used some Stickles as a border around the outer edge of the card, because this little girl needed some sparkle for her birthday! That's it for me today. I'll be back tomorrow with a steampunk card I created. Please come back and see it! But until then, go on and check out what the rest of the Wicked Wednesday gals did over on the blog. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Sometimes, you see a stamp, and you just fall in love....right? That's no just me, I hope! Well, that's what happened with this stamp from Stampendous. It's called Create Sunshine . There's just some thing...or things...that I absolutely love on this image, so it was one of the first that I worked on for our April catalog.  Directions: 1. Vintage Hats with A Day for Daisies

Hello! This is my second post for today. If you are here to check out the Stampendous and Graphic 45 hop, please scroll down to my next post, but check this one out first! ;) This week the A Day for Daisies team is featuring beautiful images from the Vintage Hats collection. I used Vintage School Girl 4 for today's project. I loved coloring this image, which of course isn't unusual for ADfD images. For my crafting process, I always color my images first, well before I even think about my papers and embellishments. This image was colored with my Tombow Dual Brush watercolor markers. I was lucky enough to receive my latest care package from Imagine Crafts (I'm an Artist in Residence for them), which included the Tahiti Kaleidacolor multi-color ink pad. I rolled the colors on to my brayer, rolled the brayer on to my Mixed Media paper, and got the wonderful effect for my background which just so happened to coordinate perfectly with my colored image.  I also grab

Voyage in the Sea- Graphic 45 & Stampendous Hop

Hello! The Beneath the Sea hop with Graphic 45 is sadly coming to a close. I adore the Voyage Beneath the Sea papers that Graphic 45 so generously gave the team to use. For full hop details and prize info, please visit the Stampendous Blog . I have a layout to share with you today. My husband and I went on a cruise back in February, so I have lots of great photos that are just waiting to be scrapbooked. I decided to go with one of the photos that I took on the first day, when we were exploring the ship. These papers are so perfect for the album I am making. Not just in the theme of the papers either. Many of my husband's "Hawaiian" shirts (which yes, he wears all year) pick up a lot of the colors in the papers.  I used Mermaid Melody, Deep Blue Dreams, and Ocean Quest for this page. Stampendous' new Cling Seashells set (and don't forget the coordinating dies !) were perfect embellishments for this page. I stamped them on cream cardstock, and I embo

Beneath the Sea Hop

Somewhere.....beyond the sea.....Oh. Wait. This is the Beneath the Sea blog hop. Well, I think you get where I'm going with my "singing."Be grateful I am not actually singing to you. This week, the Stampendous team is showing off projects that we've made with Graphic 45 's fantastic Voyage Beneath the Sea collection. It's a fantastic blend of the sea and steampunk. I love it! My project today is a tag. I used the Steampunk Splash paper,  Sea Horse stencil, along with the Boss Gloss dauber top embossing ink, and Aged Teal (from the Teal Encrusted Jewels Teal kit) embossing powder on watercolor paper. I thought it looked fantastic with the colors of the Graphic 45 paper I used. When this mixture melts, you see not only teal, but silver and gold as well. And the powders are of different sizes, so the texture created is wonderful. Here's a close up.  I then tore the edges and inked them with Celestial Copper Delciata Ink from Imagine Cra
