Nested Stockings

Hello! Today I have a new card for this month's Dreamweaver Stencil theme, which is, "The Most Wonderful Time of Year." I'm talking about the holiday season of course! Dreamweaver has lots of fantastic stencils that are perfect for any holiday project, and just recently, more have been added to the mix! Plus, they have some special new holiday dies as well as embossing folders. I used a set of dies for today's project. I used the Nested Stockings (DG692) dies for this card. This card was made really fast. Fussy cutting can be so time consuming, but with dies like these...you can get projects made in a flash. I cut the 3 stockings out with 3 different coordinating papers, but I kept the tops the same for some continuity. I also glued the tops above the foot part, to give it the look of a ribbon. And to just make it different. My sentiment is from Woodware, and I embossed that plus the sides of the card with gold embossing powder for a bit of metallic sheen...

Support Our Troops and Marie

Hello! It's Wednesday so I have new Wicked Wednesday and A Step in the Dark projects to share with you. The thee for Wicked Wednesday is Support Our Troops, and we are sponsored by Sassy Studios . This is Sailor Honey, and I think she is super sweet. I had a fun time coloring her. I used alcohol and watercolor markers. My paper tends to bleed with alcohol markers though, which is frustrating. Her hair is not as good as it could have been because of the bleeding. What paper do you use for alcohol markers? I thought the metallic striped paper I used really set off the Americana vibe I was going for with my ATC. The new A Step in the Dark challenge is sponsored by Lacy Sunshine and the theme is Anything Goes. I used Marie for my card. I colored her mostly with watercolor markers. I used paper and a punch from Martha Stewart...she always has great Halloween products. Please be sure to check out the Wicked Wednesday  as well as the A Step in the Dark blogs to check o...

Fall Fun with Dreamweaver

Hello! I have a Fall themed card to share with you today. I have been inspired by some of the beautiful leaves that Dreamweaver Stencils offers. But make no mistake, I didn't use only stencils today. I used some of the wonderful die cuts that DW offers as well. I started off by embossing the brand new Oak Leaf (LL 3043) with the beautiful metallic copper embossing paste , also from Dreamweaver. For this card, I didn't smooth out the paste like you normally would. I wanted it very textured. So with my Palette Knife, I added texture by just tapping the surface a bit while the stencil was still in place. I took care to not overwork it, so that I didn't wind up pulling too much paste off. Look at the pretty sheen on those oak leaves! I had embossed to leaves at a time, on opposite sides of my cardstock. This is because I had to allow for drying time before I laid the stencil on any leaves I had already done. Once the first 2 leaves were dry, I pasted the other 2. Meanw...

Neon Poinsettias

Where did the summer go? Kids are back in school, with all the insanity that goes with it, vacations are a not-so-distant memory, and it is once again time to get busy with the important things in life...crafting for the holidays! Yay! All of September the  Dream Team  will be featuring all the  new goodies  we have for the  "Most wonderful time of the year" , the fall and winter holiday season. New  stencil designs , new  dies , and...brand new  embossing folder s featuring some of our top-selling designs, all to be found on-line through the  Stencil with Style web-site , or your local papercrafting store. Here's my holiday inspiration for this week: I used the brand new Tall Poinsettia stencil (LL 3046), as well as the sentiment portion of Season's Greetings (LG 677). For the Poinsettia, I used white embossing paste on my black cardstock. After it dried, I used several colors of the totally rad Radiant Neon ink pads from Imagine C...

Looking Gorgeous and a Raven

Greetings! I have 2 projects to share with you today. One is for A Step in the Dark , and the other is for Wicked Wednesday . Anything Goes over at ASitD, and we are sponsored by the creep-tastic Delicious Doodles. This stunning raven was a must-use for this project. It's got beautiful detail All I had to color was the branch, and I added a bit of Antique Linen Distress Ink to dull out the white of my paper. I had a deep eggplant paint chip that happened to have a little moon on it that I thought worked really well. I used the Stone Wall from Dreamweaver Stencils to add to my background, as well as a few spritzes of irRESISTables spray from Imagine Crafts. Wicked Wednesday is sponsored by All Dressed Up. The challenge this week is Favorite Color Combo. This digi is aptly named Looking Gorgeous. I used one of my favorite color combos: purple and teal, with a bit of hot pink, and lime green. I loved coloring her hair. I used a combination of watercolor markers as ...

September Bombshell Muse Monday: Madonna Woodcut

Hello! It's the first Monday of the month, so I have a new Bombshell Stamps Muse Monday to share with you. I chose the Madonna Woodcut set to be featured this month by the team. Have you seen it? Check it out. I decided to work with some of the smaller images in the set. I colored all of the images with my colored pencils. Everything was fussy cut, except for the swirl stamp which was stamped directly on to my gold cardstock. Remember, each week, different members of the Bombshell team will be sharing projects fearing this set. So please check it out! Visit the Bombshell Blog to see them all. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
