All My Love with ADfD

Hello! I have a fun, new challenge with A Day for Daisies today. For the next 2 weeks, our theme is "All My Love." Plus, there's an inspiration board that you can check out on the ADfD Blog . In combining those 2 items, I came up with this... I used the precious Unicorn Friend image. I decided to not go with a traditional idea of love between 2 people, but rather that between best friends. I have always wanted to befriend a unicorn (yes, it's true), so this image really spoke to me and really shows true love. I used watercolors to paint in the image, and I added some irRESISTables Pico Embellisher in Shimmer by Imagine Crafts to the unicorn's horn, and the fairy's wings. I also added a wee bit of gold micro glitter from Stampendous to the unicorn's horn. I stenciled a bit of the Dreamweaver Stencils' Catherdral Windows Small stencil in the background and I added a sweet sentiment from the Love Always set by Stampendous. Then I used 2 of...

Garden Hive: May Arts Hop

Hello! All week, the Stampendous team has been sharing fun and fabulous projects that use May Arts ribbon. My project today features a fabulous leaf trim that I just adore! And, since it's Dreamweaver Thursday, I've got a wee bit o' stenciling for you today too. I used the new Garden Hive stamp for this card. I colored it with Prismacolor markers, and I chalked the background. The corners were rounded around the stamped image too. Next, I placed the Honeycomb stencil on to Mixed Media Paper and  sprayed it with Lemon Zest Dylusions spray, and then Pale Ale Memories Mist to tone down the vibrancy of the yellow. Next, I cut a piece of Coral Rose My Colors Cardstock to 5 1/2" x 8" and I folded it in half to make the card base. I attached the stamped image and Honeycomb layer to the card base and added the May Arts vine trim to the bottom left corner. That's it for me today! Don't forget to visit all of the fabulous blogs listed below. The Sta...

Add an Animal with Wicked Wednesday

Hello! It's time for a new Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge! This week, we are sponsored by the fantabulous Vera Lane . I LOOOOVE their digis! It is so much fun to work with them, and I am always inspired. Our challenge for you is to "Add an Animal." Pretty easy, especially with the wonderful animals you can get from Vera Lane. Here's my ATC. I combined 2 images from the Whimsical Coffee Lover set. I painted it with Crayola watercolors. Yup. It's true. I used Crayola. They work great and they don't dull out my images' black outlines. I used scrap papers for the ATC, and some fun Hot Lime Frantage Color Fragments  (from Stampendous ) along the side. I applied them after putting down a layer of Zip Dry glue from Beacon Adhesives. That's all for me today! Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Wednesday gals. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Best Friends with ADfD

Hello! It's time for a Showcase with the A Day for Daisies team. We are sharing projects from the Cozy Day collection this week, and I chose to work with Best Friends . I colored in this image with my Art Grip Aquarelle watercolor pencils from Faber-Castell . This image really reminds me of my kids. They are frequently snuggled together like this on the couch reading a book. The sentiment is from Stampendous' Life Words set, and I used 2 of the new dies from their Fitted Frames A set. My background was done with an embossing folder from Darice, which I then lightly rubbed Frost White ink from Color Box on top. I hope you'll visit the rest of the A Day for Daisies gals over on the Blog . And don't forget about our latest challenge, which is to "Add Some Stitching." Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Stitching with ADfD

Hello! It's time for a new challenge with A Day for Daisies . The theme for the next 2 weeks is "Stitching." For my project, I used Rolling Momma's Yarn . I used watercolors for this image. I also used 2 of the new Fitted Frames dies (from Set B) that was just released by Stampendous . My sentiment is from Stampendous' Life Words set, which I use a lot. My background was made by using a Chevron embossing folder from Darice, and then I inked it up with Pretty Petunia Versa Magic ink from Imagine Crafts . To getting the challenge aspect into the card, I made a border with Electric Blue Amplify , also from Imagine Crafts. You can draw very easily with it, and then you heat it with an embossing gun to "puff" it up. I think it looks a lot like yarn! That's it for me today. Please be sure to visit the A Day for Daisies Blog to see what the rest of the team has stitched up for you today. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Penguin Buds with A Day for Daises

Greetings! I have a card to share with you today that features another adorable image from A Day for Daises' January Club Kit. I used Penguin Buds today. I colored these cuties with my Memento Markers from Imagine Crafts. These are watercolor markers, and the thing you need to remember when using watercolor markers, is that unlike when coloring with alcohol markers, you color from lightest color to darkest. Here's a close up. Check out the cute puffy balls on their fun outfits. That's done with Amplify! from Imagine Crafts. If you've been visiting my blog this week, you'll have seen the Stampendous and Imagine Crafts collab that's been happening. I couldn't help but bring in a few Imagine Crafts products into this card. So to make the puffs, I just added dots of Amplify! and heated the areas with my embossing gun. The background also has Amplify!. That's the blue areas. I used Dreamweaver's Cathedral Windows Small for the background, as ...

Teacups with Dreamweaver Stencils

Hello! Have you been enjoying the Amplified week that the Stampendous team has been having? We have been working with some amazing products from Imagine Crafts, and we hope we have inspired you! Today, my project features a fun stencil from Dreamweaver, and another version of the monoprints that I shared with you on Monday. Directions: 1. Create a monoprinted background using the reinkers from Imagine Crafts and the Creative Palette. Squirt the 3 colors of reinkers on to the Creative Palette and roll out with a brayer. Press the inked palette on to Mixed Media Paper. You can make several impressions, or monoprints, by rolling the brayer over the ink each time. More information on this is available here:  http://www.stampendous.com/ti…/creative-palette-tips-tricks/   2. After you've chosen a monop rint to use, tape the Stacking Teacups to it. Using the palette knife, spread Glossy White Embossing Paste across the stencil. Lift and remove stencil, and allow the paste to d...

Make it Sparkle with Wicked Wednesday

Who doesn't love a bit of sparkle? We sure do over at Wicked Wednesday ! That's our theme this week... "Make it Sparkle." We are sponsored by All Dressed Up . I used Flyaway Butterfly for my ATC. I colored her with alcohol markers. I added some Zip Dry adhesive to the background and sprinkled on Multi-Crystal Glitter from Stampendous all over it. But that wasn't quite enough sparkle. So I added some more drips of Zip Dry, and sprinkled Shaved Ice (also from Stampendous) on it. For my ATC base, I spritzed on some Sparkle Shimmer Spritz from Imagine Crafts . Then I inked the edges with Shimmery Silver Delicata ink . It's the prettiest silver ink I have ever used. We are running this challenge for 2 weeks, so you have some extra time to play along! Please be sure to visit the Wicked Wednesday Blog to see what the rest of the team has cooked up for you. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Anything Goes with ADfD

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2016! I hope you are going to have a craft-tastic year...that's what I'll be aiming for. I have an adorable new image from A Day for Daisies to share with you today. It's from the January Club kit, and it's called Penguin Party . I did very minimal coloring on this card....only a little bit on the penguins. The focus just hadto be on their ginormous balloons! I used 4 colors of wonderful Stampendous glitter. I started off by using Zip Dry glue by Beacon adhesives on my first balloon. Then I sprinkled Gold Halo Mix glitter on to it, and shook off the excess. I repeated this step 3 times with Burgundy, Mahogany, and Copper glitter. The Zip Dry dries quickly, so I finished the card pretty quickly after all of my glitter was applied. I had some fun copper metallic cardstock that I used for my background, and I put 2 Stampendous sentiment stamps together to create my "Happy New Year." I added some fabric tape in a fun check p...
