21st Century Pillow Book

It's the Dream Teams's last theme for the month of April with our interpretation of "Showers to Showers."  It is also our last post together under the direction of Dreamweaver's founder, Lynell Harlow. We are shedding bittersweet tears as we close one door and open a new one with Stampendous. Lynell has been an enormous inspiration to me over the past 3 years and it has been my privilege to learn the art of stenciling through her.  She's a delightful person and I sure hope we continue to see her and Wayne in the industry.  Their Zendays Wednesdays blog posts are delightful.  Good luck Lynell and we are so happy Dreamweaver has found a new home with Stampendous! Hello! I have a new Left of Center challenge to share with you today. We are sponsored by A Day for Daisies , which is one of my absolute favorite digi stamp companies. The theme this week is "Fun Frights." Here's my creation. I worked with the Owl of Mine image, which I totally love. I colored her with my Tombow watercolor markers. I can see using all sorts of fun color combinations with this image. I used my Scales stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils . I inked it with gold ink, then embossed it with clear embossing powder on top. I love the subtle look it has, due to using Kraft colored cardstock as my base. See the shimmer? I added a few silver sequins and a bit of ribbon, plus some deep purple cardstock that had some gold overspray from a previous project. Greetings! I have an awesome new challenge from Wicked Wednesday to share with you. We are challenging you to CASE a DT member! What's CASE? Copy and Steal Everything! We are sponsored by The East Wind today. Remember to tell us who you are CASEing and how you've CASEd them in your own post. I used Lucy Loo Over the Rainbow for this ATC. I cropped her a bit to fit better on the ATC. I used one of my favorite ways to color....by using shapes, and only coloring in the shape. I used 2 different sized circles. It's fun to do this technique when you have a specific spot that you want to focus on, or if you may be intimidated by an image. Just color part of it! For my background, I used my Houndstooth stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils . I sprayed it with a white spray, but it dried down a bit light. So I inked the stencil and laid it down in the same spot on my cardstock. Then I embossed it in some spots with white embossing powder. I also added some fun chunky glitter

Lots lof younger women are dying their hair beautiful shades of gray. That's what inspired my color choices for my ATC today. This image is called Hippie Chick . I colored her with my Tombow watercolor markers. I added a small stamp of a daisy to my background, and I used a fun patterned paper for my base. So grab your Groovy Chicks and play along with us! Have you seen or heard the news? I am part of the Stampendous! Design Team! I am beyond excited about this. Especially since Stampendous! now owns Dreamweaver Stencils . This is a match made in heaven, and I am so happy to be along for the ride. Stampendous! is pretty excited about their new acquisition, and they wanted to do a week of fun stenciling projects to show off some of the many things that they can do.  So, how many stencils did I use for this card? 1? 2? Actually, I used 5! The beautiful Feather stencil is one, the Scales in my background, and then on the feather, I used the Spiral Dots , the I Beams , and the water from the Frigate stencil (the green portions) too!  I started off by inking each of the colors on to the feather. Remember that when you do this, you need to mask off each section so that you don't put the wrong color in the wrong spot. After that, and leaving the feather stencil in place, I laid the various design stencils down where I wante

Greetings! Time for the B Team of Left Of Center to share a new challenge with you. This time we want you to use Spots and/or Stripes. We are sponsored by Limited Runs. I colored this pot o' eyeballs with my watercolor markers. Then I fussy cut the image out. I used a fun chevron stripe washi tape for my background and I made a quickie sentiment.  I think this is a very funny image...eyeballs strike me as silly, and I love to use them on projects. Here's what I'm showering you with this week... We all know the expression, "April showers bring May flowers." I decided to do a play on that. So, here's my Mayflower in the midst of an April shower.  I started off by inking up the new Frigate stencil with Versamark inks and a couple of small stencil brushes. I also had my Picasso Stencil out so that I can easily mask off the parts that I wasn't inking at the time. Hello again! It's time for a new Wicked Wednesday challenge, as well as a new Create and Inspire challenge. For WW, the challenge is Use a Fold. We are sponsored by DRS Designs, and I used their sandcastle image. I asked my sister to make me a paper crane or two to use as my "folds," and I think they turned out great! She decided to make 4 so that she could practice. I colored the image with my new Tombow watercolor markers. Seriously, how cute is that teeny tiny crane? Greetings! It's time for a new Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge! This week, the theme is "April Fools' or Favorite Holiday." Our sponsor is Creepy Cute Stamps . I went with Halloween! I used their Dia Los Muertos image, and my watercolor markers to color her up. I used a fun pom pom fringe to finish her off. I also added a simple "Boo" sentiment and fun microbeads with glitter to the border. You can see the little bits of glitter mixed in with the beads. What's your favorite holiday?
