August as an Adjective: Jellyfish

As we are heading towards back-to-school again, it is only appropriate that we break out our dictionary for this month's  Dreamweaver  challenge..."AUGUST as an ADJECTIVE"!  Merriam-Webster defines august as, "marked by majestic dignity or grandeur", with synonyms such as, "dignified, distinguished, imposing, portly, solemn, staid, and stately". Now, I don't know just how dignified and stately the Dream Team can become for an entire month, but we are all going to give it a try! How about trying along with us, and linking YOUR creations to the Inlinkz tool below for a chance to win the wildest stencil design your little heart is screaming for.  Here's my creation for this week: I used the beautiful, brand-spankin' new Jellyfish stencil. I used Pearlescent Embossing Paste  to get this image on to my cardstock. While it was still wet, I dropped several colors of Metallic FX powders on to the jellyfish by dipping a brush into the p...

Gilded, Blooms, and Steampunk

Welcome! It's time for another super busy Wednesday! I have 3 projects for you today. The first is for Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge. The theme is Beautiful Blooms and we are sponsored by DRS Designs. I love daffodils. They are always so cheery. I decided to go with the more unusual coloration of white and pink, instead of the more common yellow or orange and white. I have some pink and white daffodils and they are just beautiful. I colored the image with my watercolor markers. For Bombshell Stamps, this month's Hump Day Hop theme is "Gilded, AKA Metallics." I had fun with this one! I started off with the Lucky Me horseshoe from the Lucky Bride set. I colored with with watercolor markers, and a couple of metallic markers. Then, I pawed through my Dreamweaver Stencils to see what would work well with this stamp, as I knew I wanted to use one of their fabulous embossing pastes . I went with Copper Paste and the Art Nouveau Bkg . The stencil is actual...

August as an Adjective with Dreamweaver

I started out with the Open Christmas Tree ...this is a really fun stencil, and I will be showing you several different projects I made with it ov...

Back to school with Wicked Wednesday

Hello! It's time for a new Wicked Wednesday challenge. This week, the theme is Back to School and we are sponsored by Time for Tea. I don't even want to think about my kids going back to school! I love having them home with me. And now that my daughter is going to kindergarten, I am REALLY sad. But, enough about my woes.....I had fun coloring up this little image. And I happened to have had that fun apple stamp sitting in my stash for a while. I thought it was perfect for the background. It's  from Inkadinkado. She was colored with alcohol markers. And I thought the button mimicked the apple nicely. Though looking at it now,  probably should have given it a stem! Please be sure to visit the rest of the WW gals over at the blog . Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day! *I'd like to enter this ATC into the Simon Says Stamp Back to School challenge.

Something Sweet and a Goddess...with Paint Chips!

I love paint chips. From an artist's perspective...I just love to look at colors...figure out what colors and tones are used to make them, and checking out which combos look good together. And from a crafter's perspective, I love to use them in fun ways around the house and on my projects. So, for both of my projects for today, I have used a paint chip. Let's start with A Step in the Dark . We are sponsored by Smeared Ink and the challenge is Anything Goes. Nice and simple! I used the lovely Luna for my card. I colored her with alcohol markers. Can you spot the paint chip? It's the pretty textured metallic piece behind Luna. It's a Martha Stewart chip, and I thought it was lovely. It has a great sheen. My Goddess sentiment is a rubber stamp, also from Smeared Ink. This is an ATC for the new Wicked Wednesday challenge. The theme is Something Sweet and we are sponsored by Sami Stamps. The paint chip is a little more obvious here, I think. It's 2 ve...

Leo with Wicked Wednesday

Hello! It's time for the newest Wicked Wednesday challenge! This week, we are sponsored by the fabulous Delicious Doodles , and the theme is Leo. And, it just happens to be our Fearless Leader Jenn's birthday!!! Happy Birthday, Beautiful! Here's my ATC. Isn't this Horror Scope version of Leo fantastic? I love it. I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir markers. I had a scrap piece of paper that I had used a folder to emboss swirls on to, and I thought it worked well with the image. Then, a little bit of zebra-striped washi tape finished it off. I think this image s going to get used for the 31 Days of Halloween this year. I heard through the grapevine that sign ups should be starting soon! Can't wait! But for now, please visit the Wicked Wednesday Blog to see what the rest of the team has created. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
