Rose Gold

Hello! The Imagine color of the month for September is Rose Gold, in honor of the new Rose Gold Delicata ink. I have always loved rose gold, way before it was trendy. My wedding rings are rose gold, and I have other rose gold jewelry as well as assorted rose gold colored accents in my home. For a woman that's not a huge fan of pink, I find rose gold warm, comforting and beautiful. I started off by taping down my Pop Rectangles stencil to a piece of Mixed Media paper. Using a stencil brush, I swirled in the Rose Gold ink. I went a little heavy with ink, and since it's a brand new pad it is super juicy. Looking back, I probably should have brushed some of the excess ink off on a paper towel to keep the lines crisp, but I don't mind the feathering of the color. I used my heat tool to quickly dry the ink, and then I placed my sentiment on to the paper. Just the stamps themselves, no ink, just so that I could figure out where I wanted them to go. Then I picked up only th

Tye Dye Flower Jars

Greetings! This is an exciting week for the Stampendous Design Team, as we are previewing the brand new stamps from the October catalog! We are all sharing a couple of our favorite projects this week to inspire you. For this card, I used the new Flower Jar stamp. The method was inspired by a video by Jennifer McGuire who always has a million brilliant ideas. Below is my full tutorial and in addition, I created a YouTube video to share exactly what how I created it. Please click HERE to see my video. I'm not nearly as polished as Jennifer, but I did the best I could. I hope to create more videos very soon. Jennifer McGuire's original Watercolor Block Stamping video can be found HERE . You Make the World Beautiful: Focus on Delicata Ink

Hello! During the month of September, the Imagine Artists in Residence were challenged to use the super lustrous Delicata Inks. Well, this is no challenge for me, as I absolutely LOVE these inks. They have the most beautiful glimmer to them. All of the inks used on my card today are Delicata inks. And perhaps you are noticing a few new colors... In August, Imagine introduced 6 brand new Delicata colors, and today I am using 4 of them.  My card uses stamps from the Hero Arts "You Are Loved" stamp set. I love this set becuase of all of the beautiful messages it has, but also because a portion of the proceeds go to an anti-bullying campaign. Directions: 1. Stamp the globe on to Smooth Bristol Paper (it doesn't have to be this paper, but I love how smooth it is, and that it holds ink really well) with VersaFine Ink in Onyx Black. Emboss the image with Black Embossing Powder. 2. Using a Brush Tip Fantastix, apply the Emerald Green Delicata Ink to where the "land

Planning for Halloween: Glass Bottle

Hello! It's almost the most wonderful time of the year! No, not Christmas. For me, it's Halloween. I love the spookiness, the dressing up, the decorations, everything. So I always plan out a lot of projects for this time of year, and I love to go way beyond the card and make decorations for my home. This month, the Imagine Artists in Residence are creating "Holiday Planning" projects, and this is mine. I started off with this small bottle that held syrup from one of my favorite restaurants, Cracker Barrel. I love that they give you these individual bottles when you order pancakes, French Toast, etc. I always bring them home to use as storage for sequins, seed beads, etc. The bottles have these great embossed designs which make decorating simple. I decided to use my Studio Glaze in St. Valentine, as these shapes reminded me of drops of blood. I laid the bottle down on to a paper towel to keep it from rolling around. But in the end, I wound up just holding

You are Fantastic

Greetings! I have a new card to share with you today...one featuring one of the new Simon Says Stamp exclusive STAMPtember sets, Amazing Messages. I will be using this card in the latest Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge , which is "Stamp It." They asked if participants could use SSS Exclusive products, though it isn't a requirement. Since Simon Says Stamp gave me the Amazing Messages stamp set to help promote STAMPtember, I am excited to be be sharing this card with you today. I started off by inking up the "Fantastic" stamp with VersaFine ink on to Canson Mixed Media Paper. I love to use this paper for my watercolor markers, so I colored the image up with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. I cut the image out, leaving a bit of a white border around it. If you've been visiting my blog or my Instagram lately, you will know that I am head over heels with making Magic Color Slider cards with Lawn Fawn's unique die. The die set comes with 3 shapes th

Magical Unicorn Slider Card

Hello! Today I have a card that was so much fun to make! And even more fun to play with! But shhhh!!!! Don't tell my daughter! I made it for her first day of school. I used lots of Lawn Fawn to make the card, and I think she's going to love it. *This post contains affiliate links, at no cost to you. So this card doesn't look too fancy, right? Unless of course you know just how magical Magic Color Slider Cards can be! This is what you see when you pull up the little tab at the top of the card. Magically, the image is colored! I'm telling you, I am having a blast making these. You of course need the Magic Color Slider Die, and then you can use any stamps you want. The die set is so clever, and gives you several different fun options to help you customize your slider. I went with the Unicorn from the Critters Ever After Set. She was colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a touch of Wink of Stella . My sentiment is from the Believe in Yourself

You are So Amazing!

Greetings! I am very excited t be participating in this year's Stamptember from Simon Says Stamp . I was given a free set of new and exclusive stamps to work with, and what a fun set it is! It's called Amazing Messages and I will be using it quite a bit. My children will too. In fact, my daughter used the set before I had a chance to. ;) I'll be sharing her card within the next couple of days. *This post contains affiliate links at no cost to you. I stamped the image on to Canson Mixed Media Paper with VersaFine ink in Onyx Black. I colored it in with Zig Clean Color Markers  and cut out the image with a loose border. I tend to color things without thinking much about the completed project. I typically just let loose and color, and then find out what works to finish it all up later. This card is no different. After I colored the image in these sort of sun set colors, I knew I had to break out my Distress Oxide inks and create a similar look with them. Also on Can
