Teal Snowflakes

Hello! August's Color of the Month as per Imagine is Teal. Teal is my favorite color, so I was very excited to use it as a focal color.

Truth be told, I don't own a ton of teal ink, so I pulled out what I had to help me decide what I was going to make. I have Teal Blue StazOn, so that was my starting point. I've been playing a lot with photo paper lately, so I decided that would be one of the materials I worked with as well.

I applied the StazOn to the photo paper by rubbing it across the surface. There's a few residual drops of old irRESISTable paint on my craft mat, so the ink picked those spots up (as you would get from a rubbing), which I liked.

Then I applied drops of StazOn Cleaner to the surface of the photo paper. I let that sit for a few minutes, then I dabbed it up with a paper towel. I also lightly buffed the paper to further remove the ink from where the cleaner was.

Another teal ink that I have is Teal Zeal from the Memento line. I used this along with some pretty snowflakes and stamped them all over the photo paper.

I wanted to be able to get two cards out of this one piece of photo paper, so I placed my card base under the paper, and drew a line where I wanted to cut the piece apart. I also chose to use this pretty Turquoise Double Dot paper.

I trimmed down my assorted pieces and laid them out on the card. Then I chose my sentiment, stamped it in Teal Zeal, and die cut it. I also sprayed it with Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle. You can see in the above photo the nice big piece of photo paper that I can use on another card.

I glued down all of my layers and added some opalescent teal sequins with On Point Glue.

That's my card for today! I hope you will pull out your own teal inks and play along with the Imagine team. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
