Steampunk Hot Air Balloon

Hello! What a fun week it's been so far with the Stampendous team showing off their makes with Scrapbook Adhesives. As you may already know, but it bears repeating, there are prizes to be won! And you can get all of that info over at the Stampendous Blog. But there's a sneak peek of the prizes below!

For my project today, I have a Steampunk card to share. I love steampunk, and when I found out we were releasing the Hot Air Balloon from Dreamweaver Stencils, I was thrilled. I thought it would be perfect for a steampunk card.

Supplies:
Stampendous:
DWLL3003: Hot Air Balloon
EI101: Bloss Gloss Embossing Ink with Dauber
FREG044: Seasonings Embossing Powder
DWLJ911: Gears Stencil
DWDCP: Copper Embossing Paste
EJK07: Bronze Encrusted Jewels Kit
FRG01C: Silver Glass Glitter
FREG026: Aged Black Embossing Enamel
DWDPK: Palette Knife

Other:
My Colors Cardstock: Ocean Side
Imagine Crafts: Celestial Copper and Bronze Burst Delicata Ink, Tear It! Tape
Scrapbook Adehsieves: Black Foam Squares
Metallic F/X: Glacier Lake
Beacon Adhesieves: Zip Dry Glue
Prism: Black cardstock
Embossing Gun

Directions:
1. Tape the Hot Air Balloon Stencil to a piece of black cardstock. Usig the Boss Gloss Dauber bottle, apply embossing ink all over the stencil. Remove stencil, and sprinkle Seasonings Embossing Powder on top, shake off excess, and heat from underneath. Tear around the embossed image, and apply Celestial Copper ink around the edges. Set aside.

2. Attach the Gears Stencil to another piece of black cardstock with tape. Using a palette knife, apply Copper Embossing Paste all over the stencil. Remove (and wash) stencil. Sprinkle Bronze Glass Glitter and Vintage Mahogany Glitter from the Bronze Encrusted Jewels kit in the wet paste. Sprinkle Silver Glass Glitter and Glacier Lake Metallic F/X to the wet paste as well, and heat with embossing gun. Set aside.

3. Create the card base using Ocean Side colored cardstock to 10" x 6 1/2" and fold. Apply Tear It! Tape down the right side and bottom about 1/4" away from the edge. Sprinkle Aged Black Embossing Enamel to the tape, shake off excess and heat. Ink the edges of the card base with Bronze Burst Delicata ink.

4. Glue the Gears background to the card base using Zip Dry Glue. Using black foam squares from Scrapbook Adhesives, attach the balloon on a slight angle on to the card.

Here you can see some of the dimension of not only the paste and glass glitters, but also the foam squares, embossing powders and layers.

I loved making this card. All of the fabulous metallics and textures make me happy. A huge thank you to Scrapbook Adhesives for supplying the team with some of their amazing products. I just adore the black foam squares. Below are the folks that are hopping today. Please be sure to visit and leave them some love. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
