Pretty Pink Posh Hop and Left of Center

Greetings! I have a two-fer for you today. 2 projects from very different groups. The first is for a Blog Hop I am participating in, and the second is for the latest Left of Center challenge. Let's start with the hop, shall we?

Pretty Pink Posh is hosting a fantastical hop today featuring brilliant projects that use watercolors. I LOVE watercolors. Always have. Typically, I use them from a palette, but today is different! I broke out my new sets of Faber-Castell Aquarelle pencils, and they are just fantastic! And shhhhh!!!!!! Here's a BIG secret! The Stampendous team is doing a major collaboration with Faber-Castell all next week! So this project, you could say, is my little preview.

I started off by stamping the whimsical Ranunculus Field cling stamp with black Memento Ink. Then I broke out my Aquarelle pencils (I love the little grippy dots they have!) and started to color. I used 3 shades per flower, and 2 for the foliage. Background has 2 as well. I would color a flower, and then use the brush the pencils came with to add my water. You can color the whole thing first and then add water, but I was really excited to get my paper wet, and my colors really blended.

After I finished with the image, I let it dry and inked up the edges. I kept the base pretty simple, and added a pretty "thank you" from the Stampendous "Say it Perfectly" clear set. And of course, the sweet ribbon I used is from May Arts. So be sure to head on over to Pretty Pink Posh for all of the blog hop details. And be sure to visit me here next week for the Stampendous and Faber-Castell collaboration. Follow me on Instagram HERE! I am new to the Insta-stuff, so be patient with me while I figure it all out.

Now! On to Left of Center! This week, the challenge is "For the Girls," and we are sponsored by Simply B Stamps.

I used Just Betty for my image, which I couldn't find on the web site, so I guess she's been retired. I colored her with watercolor markers (why not go along with the day's theme, right?), and I fussy cut her out.

My background is filled with yummy, crunchy goodness from Stampendous. I started off by stamping 2 of the Mixed Media Cling Rubber Brush Strokes images with pigment ink. Then I broke out the lovely Frantage Purple Encrusted Jewel Technique Kit, and played with a few of the vials in it. Those kits are the BEST! My sentiment is from the Discover Today set. And last, I glued down some magical Shaved Ice in various places.

It really sparkles in person! I hope you will join me over at LOC to see what the rest of the B Team has cooked up for you this week. And don't forget about the Watercolor Hop! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

I just recently bought this stamp set and am in love with it but haven't tried water coloring with it yet. Your card makes me want to crack it out again and give it a whirl!

You have been busy Alison! These are both GREAT cards. I absolutely love your Thank You flowers - what a SPECTACULAR job and the colors are so LOVELY. The ribbon you chose just accented perfectly - tied it all together.

And the second card made me smile. Pretty sweet!!! You are very talented. j.

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
