Birthday Wishes: Bonus Week

All month long, The Dream Team has been celebrating birthdays with our Birthday Wishes challenge. Since there is a 5th Thursday this month, the entire team is playing along one last time before our February challenge begins. There's an InLinkz tool at the bottom of my post so that you can link up your very own Birthday Wishes. Here's my creation. I am so excited to share one of Dreamweaver's newest stencils today. Chunky Art Tools is available right now, and I love it. When I first got it, I immediately thought of this challenge and thought they would make adorable birthday candles. So that's what I did here! I inked up the 4 tools using Versa Mark ink pads, some tape, and the necessity for anyone that stencils...the Picasso tool. Of course, my "candles" needed flames, so I dug through some of my Bombshell stamps and found 2 different flames. I thought they were perfect. I inked them up with 3 different colors and then I embossed the entire piece wit

Snowmen and Anything Goes

Hello! I have 2 projects to share with you today. The first is for Wicked Wednesday , and the challenge is Snowmen. The second is for A Step in the Dark , and the theme is Anything Goes. We are sponsored by Sami Stamps this week, and I worked with their My Snowey Friend image. Very appropriate since Long Island just got a foot (and more) of snow dumped on us Monday. Too bad the snow is too powdery to actually build a snowman though. I used watercolor markers for everything but the skin. I just cannot find the right color watercolor markers for skin. So I had to use my Spectrum Noirs. I added a little washi tape and a simple star button to finish it off. This is such a clean image, I didn't want to overdo it with embellishing. A Step in the Dark is sponsored by Dilly Beans this week. I used one of my favorite images from Megan, Day of the Dead Frida #338. I colored her with my watercolor markers as well. I'm quite pleased with her hair. I have never done it prim

Birthday Wishes with Dreamweaver

Welcome to the birth of a new year...2015 to be precise! In honor of that, we've decided that our monthly challenge for January will be Birthday Wishes. We'd love for you to play along with us, and link your creations to the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of this post, or on the Dream It Up! blog, for a chance to win the stencil of your choice...and remember, using Dreamweaver products gets you bonus points towards an extra stencil! Here's my birthday project for this week: Ok, so it's a little snarky....but sometimes we need to have a sense of humor when it comes to birthdays. right? I started off by using the the Crows stencil. I simple inked it with a small stencil brush. Then, I took a very juicy embossing dauber and stenciled the Rain . I didn't want perfect drops, so I overdid it when I applied the embossing ink. Then I used a clear embossing powder on top and heated it up. I added my sentiments before I put my rain drops. They say, "happy

Pink, Black, and White with Wicked Wednesday

Greetings! It's time for another challenge with Wicked Wednesday . This week's theme is Pink, Black, & White, and we are sponsored by Ppinky Dolls . I used Unicorn for my ATC. I colored her with my watercolor markers. I used some super old paper and matching embellie from KI Memories. Plus a little Cotton Candy Stickles. This is a super easy challenge, so be sure to play along! Visit the rest of the WW gals HERE on the blog.

A Big Welcome Back Plus Wicked Wednesday

Hello! I am excited to write that A Step in the Dark is back from their temporary hiatus. And, since it's Wednesday, I have a new Wicked Wednesday ATC for you. So let's start there.... Wicked Wednesday is sponsored this week by Vera Lane . This is a new company for me, and I am loving the digis they offer. Cute, quirky and fun. I mean, just check out her rad hair! The challenge is "Girly Stuff." I chose to work with this image, because my husband bought me a new camera for Christmas, so I was very inspired! I colored this gal with my watercolor markers. I found this great cardstock in my stash that had a girly but cool pattern, and I added zebra print washi tape and 2 rhinestones. Girly and hip, I think. ***And as a special bonus, Janet from Vera Lane is offering 10% off for those participating in the Wicked Wednesday challenge this week! Just use the code TRYVERA10 at checkout. If you spend $25 or more, then you will get a 15% discount! Thank you so muc

Birthday Greetings for Winter

Welcome to the birth of a new year...2015 to be precise! In honor of that, we've decided that our monthly challenge for January will be  Birthday Wishes . We'd love for you to play along with us, and link your creations to the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of this post, or on the  Dream It Up! blog , for a chance to win the stencil of your choice...and remember, using  Dreamweaver products  gets you bonus points towards an extra stencil! Here's my birthday wish for this week: I'm a Winter baby, so I decided to go with a snowflake theme for this week's project. I started off with the lovely Crystal Snowflake  and I heat embossed it with clear powder on a sheet of glossy cardstock. I didn't want the snowflakes to be absolutely perfect, but rather to appear to be melting together, so I was purposefully a bit sloppy with my embossing pad. You can see the raised effect from the embossing powder here. After all of my snowflakes were on, I used 3 colors of R

Color Challenge with Wicked Wednesday

This week, Wicked Wednesday is doing one of my favorite types of challenges. Color Challenges! I love them, so I am excited to share this week's ATC with you. We are sponsored by All Dressed Up. I used Love my iPad for this ATC. I cropped her legs, so that I could work with her upper half bigger. I colored her in with my watercolor markers. The colors from the palette (you can check it out on the WW Blog ) were easy to work with, and I was stoked when I found paper that went along with it perfectly. I hope you'll play along! And, be sure to check out our Wicked Wednesday Facebook Group . You can chat with the DT, add your projects, and check out previous projects. And don't forget to see what the rest of the team created at the WW Blog . Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Birthday Wishes with Dreamweaver

Welcome to the birth of a new year...2015 to be precise! In honor of that, we've decided that our monthly challenge for January will be  Birthday Wishes . Here's my birthday wish for this week: I used the Double Glitter technique with the Vertical Balloons  stencil. I have some fun neon glitters in my stash, so I thought they would be perfect.  I also used the Birthday Greetings stencil for my sentiment. I kept the card pretty simple so that the cool balloons would stand out. Glitter is so hard to photograph, so I'm sure you can imagine they look even better in person.  I'd like to wish an early Happy Birthday to our fearless leader, Lynell! Her birthday is on th
