Flora and Fauna with Dreamweaver Stencils Week 3

The Dream Team is ready to inspire you with some extra fun this week! Not only are we posting with the Flora and Fauna challenge, we are introducing you to our THREE NEWLY RELEASED DESIGNS...our Owl Buddy, the Open Sheep, and the art nouveau-inspired Heron, which you had a sneak peek at two weeks ago on the Dream It Up! blog. Three lucky commenters on the Dream Team's posts will receive one of these designs to be announced on theDream It Up! blog next week. Tell us in your comment which technique YOU would use with your favorite of these new designs.

Here are the 2 projects I created this week.

I made this ATC using the brand new Owl Buddy. I traced all of his shapes on to assorted pieces of patterned paper (on the back so that you don't see pencil marks), and cut them out. This cute stencil has pretty simple to cut shapes, but it can be a little time consuming. But I have great news! We will have Owl Buddy available as a die! So you will easily be ale to cut him (or her!) out with all types of fun papers very quickly.

He is the perfect size for an ATC (2.5" x 3.5"). Here's my second project. A card using the brand new (and very elegant) Heron.

I went super clean and simple for this card, which is not something I normally do. But this new stencil is just so tranquil, I didn't want to busy it up with a lot of "stuff." at least, not this time! ;)

I simply used white embossing paste to get the image on to my kraft paper. After it dried, I noticed I had a few unpleasant little lumps. So here's a quick tip...I used my Cutter Bee scissors (little scissors with very sharp points) and just trimmed off the excess. It worked perfectly, and now the embossing paste looks nice an smooth all over.

Both cards are wonderful Alison and it is good news the owl will soon have a matching diecut! The heron is a beautiful stencil and keeping it simple really makes a statement.

Love both of these creation. Your white image on the kraft is divine and really shows off the stencil so well. Thanks for the tip about the "little bumps"...I'll have to remember that.

Your ATC is so cute, and a wonderful size project for this stencil. Would it shock you to know that I've never made an ATC? LOL
Love the white on kraft! Perfection!

The paper pieced owl is fabulous, but I love, Love, LOVE what you've done with the heron. It shows how less really IS more sometimes.

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
