Day 3 of 12 Days of Creepmas: Creepmas Wreath

Welcome to Day 3 of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas! I was going through some of my stamps, and I found a fabulous wreath that I've had for years. I decided to decorate it with a bat punch and some burgundy Stickles. Take a look.

The wreath has been embossed, so it has a nice texture to it. The Stickles don't look Stickle-y, but trust me, they are! I used a Martha Stewart spiderweb punch to add to the creepiness.

I used a great skull from the large focal image from Bombshell's Sugar Skulls stamp set. But, I am a little undecided if I like it or not. I think it needs to be a little bigger in this situation. So, I may take it off and use a different image. What do you think? I think it looks odd just floating there. I have another idea, but I ran out of time. Maybe I can try it later today.

I think someone needs to make a stamp that says Merry Creepmas. I really need it for this card! So, be sure to visit the rest of the Jolly Bloggers, listed in my sidebar. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Alison, I actually like that little skull with all that space around him/her/it. It makes it look more like it's in the center than it probably would have if it had been bigger and thereby directly attached to the wreath. Then it would have all just melted together, you know? (Not sure if I make sense at all. I think my English only gets worse with age. Lol.)

There are some Merry Creepmas stamps out there :) Here http://www.zibbet.com/Rick1949/artwork?artworkId=1719040 and http://www.zibbet.com/Rick1949/artwork?artworkId=1719043 and http://www.zibbet.com/Rick1949/artwork?artworkId=1719039

Gorgeous wreath and I love how you've decorated it for Creepmas. the addition of the web border is fab and I like the little skullie in the center. Love the torn edges and inking too. Perfect the way it is. xxD
Loving this wreath, personally I think the skull could be bigger but really it is gorgeous as it is. As Wiola posted...Rick St. Dennis has a choice of creepmas digis.

Thank you for the links! I had forgotten Rick had some. I'll have to see if I have any of them. Hopefully someone will eventually have a rubber version. That'd be great.

The bats are cool! Great artjob.
It is all in the details here - I love the torn edge around the wreath, the addition of the bats, and the spiderweb garland! They all combine to make this a great card. I would personally prefer a larger image in the center but I think you should go with your instincts! Go with what you love!

Just love the great idea of using a regular Christmas stamp and transforming it into a Creepmas feel!!!! There's also a great creepmas sentiment from Delicious Doodles coming this Saturday ;o)

Awesome card, love that wreath image. The bats are a great touch. I think the skull looks great in the middle but ya know he's the perfect size to put on the wreath too... what if you stamped him in red and used him as the holly berries?? I think I might use that idea myself :)

Alison, I love your wreath. It's fantastic The torn edges really make it work. The use of the spider web punch definitely makes it creepy. Rick has a couple of great Merry Creepmas images.

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
