Day 6 of 12, Wicked Wednesday & A Day for Daisies

Hello! It's Day 6 of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas. I made another card for it. I am also sharing a project that I made for a couple of challenges. Let's start with Creepmas. But I tell you...the creep factor for this card is going to vary depending on who is looking at it.

Have you every been outside at dusk, when it's recently snowed? It's soooooo quiet. And the landscape looks so very different with all that snow. Then, you hear a rustle coming from somewhere. And you see a bright splotch of red against a white and black backdrop. It's a lone cardinal in a birch tree. Not too creepy right? Except for that instant when you didn't know what made the rustling sound.......

I made this card for a friend of  mine. She posted a photo very similar to this one on my Facebook wall. She knows how special cardinals are to me, so I decided to replicate the image for her as a little thank you.

Now it's time for my second project. I made an ATC for the Wicked Wednesday Challenge as well as the latest A Day For Daises challenge. The Wicked Wednesday challenge is "Things with Wings," and the A Day For Daisies challenge is "Shades of Blue."

I used the Free Hand Bird with Music Notes, which is of course from A Day For Daisies. . I watercolored the image, and added some beautiful Ice Stickles around the edge. The little heart shaped button is a soft blue, but I'm not sure how easy it is to see in the photo.

Is't this a lovely image? I love the style of all the images from this company. It's never creepy or scary, but something about them really draws me in. They are for sure one of my favorite digi companies.

My simple sentiment was created using an alphabet stamp from Just Rite Stampers. My blue paper has a pretty, pale spotted pattern on it, but again, it's a little tough to see in the photos.
I hope you have enjoyed my offerings for today. Please be sure to stop by the rest of the Jolly Bloggers, they are all listed in my sidebar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creep-tastic day!

Your 1st ATC is just a tad bit creepy...not knowing where a sound came from always sends a chill up my spine.
Love the ATC, so perfectly blue and winged!
Thanks for playing along with us this week at Wicked Wednesday.

How beautiful these are. Luv the scare factor of the 1st one - yep I would be looking over my shoulder all the time coz the snow definitely makes everything quiet and eerie doesn't it.
Very cool little ADFD creation - that birdie is soooo cute :-) x

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
