Bombshell Stamps Sketch and Pin-Up Challenges

Greetings! Today I am sharing a Bombshell Stamps card with you. I combined our fab November Sketch challenge with the challenge from our November Pin-Up, Mary. Her challenge is “Black Friday.” The color, the shopping, a truly bad day at the stock market etc. Here is Kathi’s sketch:

nov

And my card:

Nov.-Sketch

I altered it just slightly. I used the Bombshell Angel image, along with one digi outfit and sentiment. Perfect for Black Friday, no?

Nov.-Sketch-3

I love this digi dress! There are so many cool things you can do with it, though I kept it pretty simple here. Check out her shoes! I used Black Diamond Stickles on them! Hey, a girl’s gotta look snazzy even when she’s shopping!

Nov.-Sketch-2

I didn’t do much shopping on Black Friday. I went to the circus! I went shopping later on in the evening to see if I could score any good deals. But, I didn’t have a fab outfit like this one to wear! Plus, it was waaaay too cold for it anyway!

It would be awesome if you would go and visit the new Bombshell Blog now to see what some of the other amazing DT Members concocted for your viewing pleasure. Have an inspiring day!!!

Santa Claws

Hello! I hope my US friends had a joyful Thanksgiving, and for those overseas, a lovely week! I was quite inspired by this week’s Macabre Monday, as usual…and I came up with an idea that I thought was pretty damn funny!

Santa-Claws-1

As soon as I saw the challenge, I knew what I wanted to do. So I quickly printed out Freddy, one of Strange Skin’s freakin’ amazing images. Then he sat there for a couple of days… Hey! I was sick! Anywho…I finally got to color him in, and I removed his hat and the souls that are usually flying around him…just go to Strange Skin to see what I mean! I made his sweater have a real holiday feel by using traditional red and green, added some sprigs of holly, and of course, that ridiculous foam Santa Hat that I jacked from my kids (Just kidding. I asked them politely first if I could have it. No. Really!)

Santa-Claws-2

Isn’t he festive??? Then of course, I needed to add those fabulous “claw” marks from Smeared Ink, plus some wonderful smudges of Fired Brick Distress Ink.

Santa-Claws-3

I wrote “Santa Claws” all scratchy-like and, as per my sister Pam’s suggestion, I added some Gold Stickles to the letters for some extra holiday cheer. I thought about adding some to my 3 layers of drippy blood at the top, but I thought that was…well…overkill.

I hope I gave you a good laugh with my card! Now I just need to figure out which unsuspecting friend will receive it! If you ask me nice enough…it could be you!!! Now, sing it with me…”1, 2, Freddy’s coming for you…..”

Elfin Magic Morgan Release!

Greetings! I am very excited to share a new release from Stamp Insanity with you today! Now I don’t feel so sad that there won’t be a new SI challenge this week, due to Thanksgiving.

This new set features Morgan…all dolled up for the Holidays as an adorable elf! Plus, there are a couple of other cool images in the set too! Here’s my creation:

Elfin'-Release-1

I wanted to go with Victorian colors for this card. My Mom has decorated her home with these colors for Christmas for years and years. Because of her, I just love having a Victorian Christmas. So these colors say Christmas to me almost as much as red and green!

Elfin'-Release-2

I colored Morgan in with my watercolor markers, and Phoenix helped me chalk the negative space, the sentiment and the card. If you haven’t used chalk yet, I really want to encourage you to do so…it gives such a lovely finish to everything!

I’d like to thank Suzi for putting these 2 images together…I would have never been able to figure out how to do it myself! Doesn’t Morgan look adorable standing under this lovely arch? Way to go Beth with another fabulous release!!!

Elfin'-Release-3

Phoenix also helped me glue, punch and place all of the pieces on the card. He told me that he really loves making cards with me. Isn’t that the sweetest thing???

Did you check out the sentiment? “Meet me under the mistletoe,” in the prettiest font! Perfection! I will be using that a lot!!!

Some of the other Groovy Gurlz have creations to share with you today too! Please visit them!!! Have an inspiring day!

Kenny K Smeared & Smudged Blog Hop!

Welcome to a super exciting Smeared & Smudged Design Team Blog Hop featuring some ultra cool digis from Kenny K. As I have mentioned in previous posts, they are one of our fabulous sponsors this month…and you still have time to play along! I love so many of their images! They’re cheeky, rockin’ and so cool. You’ve gotta pick up some of their hawt images for yourself if you haven’t already!

The Design Team was fortunate enough to get digis from Kenny K, and we are so excited to brig our creations to you today! I made a layout using Mrs. Claus.

Kenny-K-Hop-1

These photos are from Christmas Eve, 2005. Every year, my sisters, Mom, Gene and I chose a theme for us to wear. We’ve done Gothic Christmas (I know…not a stretch for us!), Ice Princesses, Victorian…just to name a few. Well, in 2005, we decided to be different styles of Santa Claus. I LOVED getting dressed this year! Check out my outfit…I bought an actual tree skirt, and turned it into a skirt I could wear! I thought it came out fabulous!

But onto Kenny K…do you see my digi??? She blends in pretty well, doesn’t she?

Kenny-K-Hop-2

Isn’t she super sassy? I think she’s awesome! She is done up with my colored pencils, and I think she fits right in with the rest of us!

Kenny-K-Hop-3

You can click on any of the pictures to see them bigger. I am proud to say that Phoenix helped me quite a bit in putting this page together. He painted the background with me, helped me glue the paper…we had a great time doing it! I love crafting with him.

Kenny-K-Hop-4

So I am really happy with my jolly layout. I think it really captured the mood of the day. And my Kenny K Mrs. Claus is the perfect embellishment! A HUGE thank you to Kenny and Elena for your fantastic sponsorship this month!!! We love you!!! Make sure you visit not only their store…but their awesome Challenge Blog too!

Please be sure to visit the rest of the bad-ass Smeared & Smudged Design Team. I am quite certain they will wow you with their creations!

New Western Digi Release from Bombshell Stamps!

Howdy! Today is a big day for us Bombshells! We get to share some awesome new Bombshell Stamps Western Digis with you! Would ya like to see my sample???

Western-Release-1

I used 3 images from the huge Western release (wait ‘till you see all of these fab images!) and one (the banner) from the Flag Frame digi set that is FREE for newsletter subscribers. I thought that the banner worked perfectly with these other images. Kinda reminded me of the Kentucky Derby!

Western-Release-2

Here’s a close up. I used colored pencils on all of the images. I also used my wood grain texture plate from Fiskars, and added some chalk to highlight the embossing. I thought it really worked perfectly with these digis.

Western-Release-3

So. Did you get the official Bombshell Stamps newsletter? Are you a fan on Facebook? Are you a follower of the brand new Bombshell Blog??? I hope you answered a great big “YES!” to all 3! If not, please be sure to sign up, click “Like,” and follow! That way, you will be sure to never miss an exciting Bombshell moment!

SISC #36: Holiday Princess Release & Sketch Challenge

Greetings! Welcome to another fabulous StampInsanity Challenge! This week, both Wards have projects to share with you in honor of a brand new holiday release! Check it out!

Holiday Princess Maddie 2010

For this week’s challenge, we have a sketch to play with.

SISC36 11-18

Here’s my creation using one of the fabulous new Maddies and “Peace” sentiment.

Peace-1

Isn’t she lovely??? I had such a blast coloring her in! I love her headpiece. It reminded me of the American Girl book from the 80’s…is it Kirstin??? But I digress…

Peace-2

I colored her with my colored pencils, and added some Stickles to her headpiece. I LOVE the paper I used with her…it matched her dress perfectly! And the red on the paper is actually foil, so in real life it has a fabulous shine.

Peace-3

I used some Glimmer Mist on the Peace for a bit more sparkle too. Plus some inking around the edges of course!

So hurry and grab this beautiful set! Your Holiday cards will be stunning!!! And, just in case you need some incentive... from November 26-29th, the StampInsanity store will be having a sale!!! You can get 30% off all stamps! That's awesome! Just use coupon code CyberBlack2010. Stock up on all of the fabulous StampInsanity images you've been pining over. Winter Mistletoe

I am not one of those folks that like to rush into the Holiday Season. I like to take it slow…enjoy the view…relish in the changes. But this year…I’m kinda needin’ a little bit of Holiday. I “need a little Christmas.” So, this card brought me a bit of joy.

Kenny K’s latest challenge is Sparkle and Spots. I had colored up a few images last week that had not yet made it to a project, but when I saw this challenge, I knew exactly which Kenny K girl I wanted to use. This is Mistletoe. But a very Wintry version of her.

Winter-Msitletoe-1

I love her. I knew I liked her when I first saw her…but as I started to color her in, I quickly grew to love her. Yeah, she’s got some pretty sassy clothes on…but she also has the sweetest face. She looks like such a snow bunny here, no?

Winter-Msitletoe-2

Here’s a close up. You can click on any of my images to see it bigger. The majority of her was colored in with my water color markers. Her skin was done with colored pencils. I also used my Sakura Star Dust pen in Clear Star (love that pen!!!), to add a magical feel.

Winter-Msitletoe-3

Here you can see some of the shine. My background was made using Patina and Rum Raisin Glimmer Mist, along with a snowflake Glimmer Screen…all from Tattered Angels. So it’s really sparkly in person!

Winter-Msitletoe-4

I used the Star Dust pen around the edge of my card and even on my flowers! I incorporated the “spots” part of the challenge in one of the flowers and my ribbon.

Winter-Msitletoe-5

See how shimmery her eyes are? Her mistletoe too! She was just wonderful to color her in…I look forward to creating other incarnations of her.

Ravenous Ravens: Macabre Monday #65

I LOVE ravens. Love them. They are my second favorite bird (it’s a very close second behind flamingoes). So, in seeing that this week’s Macabre Monday challenge is about Ravens, and I just got the Quoth the Raven stamp set from Smeared Ink (ADORE!!!)…how could I not play along? Actually, if things go my way…I may be submitting more then once, since my favorite movie of all time is The Crow…so the options for me this week are endless! But on to my card…which I hafta say, it really jingles my bells (just tryin’ to get in the Holiday Spirit here, folks!).

Raven-Collage-1

I used 6 -yes 6- stamps on this card! And all of them are from the Quoth the Raven set except for the frame…which is from Smeared Ink’s Nymphs set. And, I only used 1 piece of cardstock for everything. No mixing and matching. I had one piece that I knew would do the job, and lo and behold…I was right!

Raven-Collage-2

The top photo is a little too yellow…where as this one is kinda washed out…put them together and you’ll know what color this card is really supposed to be! I started off by stamping the Raven and cut him out. Did the same for the skull. And again with the frame. Then I stamped my collage using 3 stamps with a pale gray ink (Anna Griffin). I added some chalk to the skull, the frame, the raven’s eye, and the edge of the collaged piece. Inked the edge of the actual card, and glued it all together.

Raven-Collage-3

I am really thrilled with this card. It’s not too complicated looking, but has a lot going on, if that makes any sense. I am going to make some more of them and put them in my Etsy shop. I hope to make some extra bucks for Holiday gifts. Fingers crossed, I’ll get to make something else for Macabre Monday… but for now, I hope you have enjoyed this card! Have an inspiring day!!!

Smeared Ink New Release Blog Hop

I love new releases! It means I have new things to play with! Today I am sharing a card that I made using one of the 4 brand spankin’ new sets form Smeared Ink.

This is Inky Dreams. Isn’t it fabulous??? There are a bajillion things I can do with this set! But for now, I’ll share just one…

Smudgy-Fingers-1

I used the Smudgy Fingers Inky Dreams sentiments, along with the Inky Badge. That stamp is HUGE!

For this card, I stamped, inked, smeared, smudged and Stickled…and man, was it fun!!! There’s ink, Glimmer Mist, Stickles, and chalk on the card. Here’s a close up.

Smudgy-Fingers-2

Check out all the Glimmer Mist!!! You can click on any of the photos to see it bigger. I smeared Stickles inside the blobs and sprays of ink. I like the added texture a lot.

Smudgy-Fingers-3

Did you notice my new punch??? From the devil herself…Martha Stewart. It’s called Cracks. I thought it was perfect for these images!

Please be sure to visit the rest of the S&S Design Team to see more fantastic creations using the brand new stamp sets!

Yo! I’ve Got Some News!

Did my title grab your attention? It’s actually a twofer. “Yo!” is the name of my card…and I really do have some news…some really cool news! And Goddess knows I need that! Let’s start with the news!!!

1. I one of the Gruesome Twosome for Macabre Monday #59…Dastardly Delicious Doodles!!!

2. Not only was I one of the Gruesome Twosome…but…drum roll please…I am now the October 2010 Master of the Macabre!!! Have you any idea how stoked I am?!? This is a very coveted award for me. I have hoped for it for many moons…and I can now proudly display my Master of the Macabre Badge for all the world to see! Just look!!! ------------------------------------------------------->  It’s on my sidebar!!! Thanks, Barb!!!

3. Have you noticed another new badge that I am proudly displaying??? I have been published! Yes! I have been published FOUR times in the latest issue of Scrapbook News and Review! FOUR! Four layouts! I can hardly believe it myself!

4. I won some fabulous Blog Candy from Ever After Paper Crafts!!! I won four gorgeous Sweet Pea Stamps…and you all know I can’t get enough of those!!! Thank you, Christine!

Great stuff huh??? I definitely have some folks smiling down on me! :} Now for my card!

Yo!-1

My focal image is this month’s freebie from Kenny K. Isn’t she cute??? Go and nab her for yourself! All of the phrases are from Smeared Ink’s Teen Style Sayings collection. I was inspired by the bricks she was sitting on… so I embossed some bricks using a Fiskars Texture Plate. Then I inked it a bit with Frost White so that the embossing shows.

Yo!-3

I stamped the 2 background phrases using fairly bright colors…but they got a bit lost on the dark background. So, I heat embossed them. But I still wasn’t happy with how the “rad” didn’t show too much, so I went over it a bit with a Glaze Pen.

Yo!-4

It looks way better now. And I think the wall came out pretty cool! Here’s a close up of my Kenny K chick.

Yo!-2

And look! I made her a blonde! No wacky colors in her hair!!! Of course the rest of her practically glows in the dark, but I think she’s adorable.

That’s all for now. Have an inspiring day!
